Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Nightmare Reappearance
Since the conflict in May, when Xiuxiu argued with Wufu and was pushed to the point of fainting, one calamity after another ensued, and Old Lady Zhou became aware that Wufu was not someone to be trifled with.
As for why Wufu’s temperament had become so volatile, she dared not delve into it, knowing only to court favor and avoid harm.
Now, seeing Wufu’s murderous aura, Old Lady Zhou felt a bad premonition, fearing that some new trouble had arisen.
Glancing at her eldest daughter-in-law’s ghost-like frightened appearance, it seemed that she couldn’t be uninvolved in this matter.
What a fool, time and again she was told not to provoke this fiend, yet she foolishly courted death by moving closer.
Old Lady Zhou was angry inside, and turning to Wufu, she asked again, "What are you doing here?" while making a signal with her eyes to her younger daughter-in-law.
This younger daughter-in-law didn’t have any grudges with Wufu, and with her as a mediator, hopefully, she could calm down that monstrous spirit.
Lady Liang, although she had heard her husband say before that Wufu was fierce and not to be provoked, after she married into the family, she had never seen Wufu disrespect her. Even towards outsiders, although Wufu had thrown temper tantrums, it was just asserting dominance or putting on airs, just a bit of a wild streak in a young girl.
But now, seeing Wufu’s murderous look, Lady Liang was terrified, feeling she had underestimated her.
Responding to her mother-in-law’s signal, Lady Liang stepped forward, smiling as she reached to pull Wufu’s hand, "Wufu, why have you come at this time?"
Wufu avoided her hand, took a detached glance at her, and said, "Aunt, I suggest you return to your room to rest, so you won’t be startled later. It wouldn’t be good for the child in your belly."
It was only due to Lady Liang not having had any previous tangles with her that Wufu spoke softly as a warning, but that didn’t mean Wufu had grown closer to her. This time it was merely for the sake of the child she carried that Wufu gave a hint. Had it been someone else who approached, Wufu would have already sent them flying.
Lady Liang’s hand froze in midair, and upon hearing that threatening comment, the smile on her lips stiffened, as she instinctively stepped back two paces.
Wufu walked over to Madam Lu, eyes fixed sternly on hers, "Where is he?"
Madam Lu shivered all over, stammering as she spoke, "Who, who are you talking about?"
Wufu’s eyes narrowed, "Zhou Dajun, where is he?"
Old Lady Zhou, hearing this, was startled. How did Dajun get involved?
"I, I don’t know," Madam Lu swallowed nervously.
Wufu snorted coldly and strode into the house; she refused to believe they couldn’t find him.
"What, what are you going to do?" Madam Lu reflexively reached out to block her.
That block did more harm than good; reacting, Wufu kicked her squarely in the chest, knocking her to the ground.
Each crime has its perpetrator, and every debt its debtor. Failure in teaching is the parent’s fault. If Madam Lu couldn’t discipline her child, then she shouldn’t be a mother.
Madam Lu was sent flying by the kick, coughing up a mouthful of blood.
Old Lady Zhou and Lady Liang screamed out.
"Wufu, you—you..." Old Lady Zhou’s hand trembled as she pointed at Wufu.
Here we go again, the nightmare of the past was replaying once more.
Wufu cast a disdainful glance at her before heading into Madam Lu’s room. Soon after, sounds of banging and crashing came from inside.
That was Wufu smashing things.
Regaining her senses, Madam Lu clutched her chest and yelled, "Murder! Mother, quickly restrain her."
Old Lady Zhou shivered with rage, "Report to the Government Office, report to the Government Office."
There was no law left; only the authorities could handle her.
Hearing the call to report her, Madam Lu’s face turned pale, hastily saying, "No, we can’t report this, we can’t."
Old Lady Zhou’s eyes sharply turned toward her.
Madam Lu’s eyes shifted away, avoiding her mother-in-law’s gaze.
"Speak, what have you done again? What did Dajun do? Where did he go?" Old Lady Zhou’s voice trembled.
