Chapter 213: Chapter 213: A Good Bow

Lady Li supported her Young Master Duan as they entered the rear hall, leaving Wufu and their servant to look at each other in the blacksmith shop.

Fortunately, Wufu was not a petty person. With no one around, she simply strolled around the shop, inspecting the tools that had been produced there.

In addition to the usual daily life items like pots, pans, and knives, there were also some small daggers. However, no large swords could be seen, but rather, there was a bow and arrow hanging on the wall.

The bow and arrow looked unremarkable, dark and unpolished, yet it caught Wufu’s eye.

After waiting for a while with no sign of Lady Li coming out, Wufu could not help but take the bow and arrow down to inspect it closely in her hands.

The bow was made from extremely high-quality bamboo for the bow body, split evenly into four sections with each section equidistant from the others. As for the reason it looked dark and unpolished, Wufu sniffed it and a scent of charcoal and smoke entered her nostrils.

The bow likely had been roasted over charcoal to finish it.

As for the bow tips, they had been smoothed and affixed with ox horn onto the bow body. Wufu understood that this was to increase the rebound force of the bow limbs.

She tried pulling it and then releasing it. Indeed, it was full of resilience, producing a humming sound.

It was a fine bow.

"What are you doing?" Lady Li came out, lifting the curtain, and saw Wufu holding the bow.

Wufu raised the bow in her hand and asked, "Is this bow for sale? How much silver is it?"

"Nonsense, if it’s not for sale, why would we hang it here?" Lady Li said with a bad tone.

Liu Jin’s face changed slightly, saying, "How can you speak like this? We are guests after all."

Lady Li glanced at him and said coldly, "That’s how Li’s does business. Buy it or get lost." Saying this, she picked up a hammer and began pounding on a knife blade, sparks flying everywhere.

Liu Jin was livid, having never seen anyone so arrogant in doing business. Just as he was about to step forward to argue, Wufu stopped him and watched Lady Li forge.

The hammer, at the very least, weighed several dozen pounds, yet she swung it as if it were cotton.

It seemed her claim of running the shop was indeed true.

"Lady Li, I come with the intention to buy, how do you sell this bow?"

Lady Li did not turn around, saying, "Twenty taels of silver."

"What? Such an expensive price for a shabby bow? Are you planning to rob us?" Liu Jin jumped in shock. Such a shabby bow actually cost twenty taels.

"Shabby bow?" Lady Li finally turned her head, looking coldly at Liu Jin, saying, "This bow was designed by my husband, made with quality materials. Just applying the glue repetitively takes twenty times. The penetrative power of this bow is stronger than ordinary bows. A lot of effort has been put into this, twenty taels is already selling it cheap to you. If you’re not buying, then get lost."

Liu Jin clenched his fists tightly, sprayed by her words.

Wufu raised an eyebrow. This woman sure had quite the temper. She then said, "Lady Li, may I try it out?"

Lady Li, seeing her sincere expression, nodded and reached into a nearby iron bucket, handing her a feathered arrow.

Wufu looked around, seeing no trees or the like, and Lady Li led her to the backyard. There, a tall apricot tree was planted, and bound to one spot on the trunk was a thin sheet of metal with a small hole in it.

Wufu blinked, looking towards Lady Li.

"This target was requested by my husband for testing, you can try out its penetrative power," said Lady Li in an indifferent voice.

Wufu smiled and nodded, standing parallel, her body held straight, feet apart, wider than her shoulders, with a fierce and focused gaze. She drew the bow, placed the arrow, all in one fluid motion.

Lady Li watched, her eyebrow raised, saying nothing.

A leaf fluttered down, Wufu held her breath, her eyes slightly narrowed, and suddenly her hand loosened.
