Don’t Mess with that Turtle -
Chapter 158 - 158 25 Call Sister_2
158: Chapter 25 Call Sister_2 158: Chapter 25 Call Sister_2 Even if the Dragon Turtle before her was not yet a Divine God Beast, its roar could reveal the true form of a Mermaid, and it was bound to achieve the exalted status of the Dragon Turtle in the future.
If that weren’t the case, she wouldn’t have had the resolve to take this Dragon Turtle to the Land of the Divine God’s Tomb.
Su He shook her heavy head; the consumption of her Divine Sense was too great, with a buzzing in her ears that was particularly uncomfortable.
The bamboo raft broke through the clouds and ascended to the very top.
Above the clouds lay an island, not very large, with its mountains and rivers, waterfalls, cranes, peacocks…
It was an atmosphere of peace and quiet, without the slightest hint of a grisly tomb.
It was as if they’d stumbled upon a celestial palace among the clouds.
The Mermaid Ritual pointed toward a palace on the island, “Sovereign Divine God, there lies the resting place of our god.
We dare not approach.
May I trouble your Divine Godship to go alone?
This old servant will take Miss Yaya to the Divine God’s Gifted Land.”
This space was itself a grand curtain for the Dragon Turtle, and the Sealed Land was like a malignant tumor.
Feng Yaya eradicated two tenths of the Locust Forest with a single punch and an arrow, a great feat indeed.
How could the Mermaids not show some token of gratitude?
Furthermore, with Su He, a Dragon Turtle almost Divine Beast present, after a brief consultation, the Ritual and the Clan Leader decided to bring Feng Yaya to the Island Among The Clouds as well.
“At the Divine God’s Gifted Land, the Laws of our god manifest.
Those blessed by our god may receive one of our god’s Divine Skills, although it can only be retained for one year.
But as long as there is understanding, the benefits will last a lifetime.”
Their god was a Divine God Beast Dragon Turtle!
Mature and powerful!
The group split into two parties, with the Ritual leading Feng Yaya and her group to the east side of the island.
Below Su He, the waves churned as she headed alone toward the palace.
Not yet reaching the destination, her heart suddenly raced, her breathing chaotic.
Within the palace lay the dead body of a Dragon Turtle – this would be Su He’s first encounter with one of her kind, even though it was deceased.
The palace itself was not grand but rather had a delicate charm.
From the outside, one could not discern that this was a tomb at all, rather it resembled a lady’s boudoir or perhaps the residence of some princess.
Only the firmly closed doors imparted a sense of solemnity.
Though birds perched on the rooftop and rabbits chased each other on the steps before it, the palace itself was spotless.
If this space was a grave, then the palace was the coffin.
Su He licked her lips and charged through the palace doors.
As the doors opened, an overwhelming might of the Dragon Turtle bore down upon her, pressing Su He’s entire Turtle Body to the ground, her Turtle Shell protesting with creaks and groans under the burden.
The White Jade Turtle Shell on her back emitted a soft glow, dispersing the oppressive might of the Dragon Turtle so that Su He could finally raise her head to look inside.
Within the palace, carved beams and painted rafters adorned its structure, several massive pillars supporting the ceiling.
Below, a pond covered the floor, and in the midst of the water lay an islet with a Dragon Turtle sprawled upon it.
She was not much bigger than Su He herself, stretching only thirty feet from head to tail.
Her body shone white like jade, her Turtle Shell smooth and rounded, her Dragon head majestic and fierce, and in the sharpness of her Dragon Horns, there was a subtle elegance.
She resembled a valiant female general, formidable yet with dabbed crimson lips, her hands delicate and tender.
The Turtle eyes were lightly closed, not at all like those of the dead, but instead as if she were asleep.
Such a beautiful Turtle!
This was the sole thought in Su He’s mind.
It was just a shame she was already dead…
Su He lingered at the doorway for a long moment.
Sighing, she stepped through the threshold and slightly bowed to the Dragon Turtle corpse, “I thank you, senior, for your support in previous days.
I have come to return the Turtle Shell.”
The Giant Turtle that had formed the Turtle Bead, no matter what, could not be considered an independent life form.
It was but an extension of the Dragon Turtle before him, or one might say, a vessel for her spirit.
The Turtle Bead should count on this Fairy Dragon Turtle.
“I hope the senior will take back the Turtle Shell,” Su He said softly.
There was no movement in the Turtle Shell on her back.
The might of the White Jade Dragon Turtle, imposing even in death, powerful and vast, did not trigger any reaction from the Turtle Shell.
Unsure of what to do, Su He wondered if she should pierce the Fairy Dragon Turtle’s body to release the essence of True Blood Qi.
Aside from this being a great disrespect, Su He simply couldn’t bring herself to do it!
Even with the strength of the might emanating from her own Turtle Shell, she sensed she couldn’t inflict the slightest injury on the Fairy Dragon Turtle.
She was at a loss for what to do next.
In the vast hall, a clear and refreshing voice rang out, “Call me elder sister!”
Su He was profoundly startled.
The waves beneath surged, propelling him swiftly backward as his eyes, sharp as lightning, locked onto the Dragon Turtle’s corpse on the islet.
“Not dead?”
The White Jade Dragon Turtle remained motionless, its might strong but rigid and static, its essence oceanic yet also hidden and tranquil, all the hallmarks of a lifeless being.
This Dragon Turtle was indeed dead.
“Who’s speaking?” Su He asked in a deep voice.
He surveyed the entire spacious hall, concentrating his scarce divine sense in his eyes, inspecting every inch of the place.
There wasn’t even a mosquito in the hall.
“Who are you, and what are your intentions, hiding in the Dragon Turtle Tomb?” Su He’s voice, imbued with Divine God Might, reverberated throughout the hall.
“Call me elder sister!” That gentle and clear voice sounded again.
The voice was lovely, yet the tone was decisive and brisk.
This time, the source was clear – it was the voice of the Dragon Turtle, a voice he had heard countless times on the day the Giant Turtle died.
But the Dragon Turtle before him was definitely just a corpse.
Soul Consciousness?
It didn’t seem like it!
The soul consciousness formed from a single drop of a peacock’s True Blood possesses Spirit Wisdom, so in the presence of such a large Dragon Turtle corpse, if there was soul consciousness, it could probably communicate just like a normal person.
“Call me sister!” That pleasant and melodious voice rang out again.
Could this thing…
possibly be a pre-death prank left by the Dragon Turtle, in the form of a recording?
I forgot to ask the mermaid how the Dragon Turtle Fairy died; logically, Divine God Beasts have endless life spans and are eternal beings.
The Dragon Turtle in front of me doesn’t seem to have died from an injury.
Su He walked toward the palace again.
The water in the pool was also extremely peculiar; by stepping onto it, there was no need to tread water, as it directly lifted Su He up.
It was like a non-Newtonian fluid.
Looking at the Dragon Turtle’s corpse, Su He let out a breath and switched to a smile, “Would it be alright if I gave your Divine Skills back, sister?”
What’s the big deal with calling her sister?
If he didn’t get that Turtle Shell off soon, he really couldn’t take it anymore.
His words seemed to trigger a mechanism; the White Jade Turtle Shell on his back suddenly detached and flew up.
Light as a feather, it floated to the side of the White Jade Dragon Turtle and snapped into place on the Dragon Turtle’s corpse.
Relieved!
Su He was overjoyed.
As the Turtle Shell left, he felt all his strength vanish, and he collapsed weakly onto the pool, feeling utterly depleted.
It wasn’t true weakness; in fact, while the White Jade Turtle Shell was attached to him, though his Turtle Element had depleted rapidly, his Blood Qi was skyrocketing.
As evidenced by the Bright Mirror.
Status: Sub-health
True Blood: 98.6%
Offering Bones: 71%
Internal Organs: 73%
This wasn’t just rocketing through the ranks anymore…
the basic rules of cultivation were being completely ignored.
The Turtle sister before him seemed a bit domineering, force-feeding him.
Su He shook his head; as his Divine Sense was no longer depleting rapidly, it gradually recovered, alleviating the dizziness and blurred vision.
“Thank you for your care, senior!” Su He bowed once again to the Dragon Turtle carcass and turned to walk outside.
The pleasant voice inside the hall rang out again, “Call me sister!”
Su He couldn’t help but laugh, “Then thank you for your care, Sister!”
He walked towards the exit, and as his foreclaw crossed the threshold, a milky-white glow flashed across the Dragon Turtle carcass.
The previously quiet Turtle Shell suddenly flew out with a snap, landing on his Turtle Shell.
Su He stood shocked in place.
Sweeping over it with his Divine Sense, he found that the Turtle Shell not only had returned but had also changed from a remnant piece into a complete scute!
Originally, the Turtle Shell was merely a fragment—normal turtles don’t shed their shells whole but drop them bit by bit.
What was only half a shell piece had now completely recovered into a hexagonal shield shape—it wasn’t a whole Turtle Shell, just a piece of it.
Su He was at a loss.
He had come to return the Turtle Shell, not recharge it!
As the Turtle Shell fell onto Su He’s Shell, it started to merge again.
Su He was shocked and alarmed.
“No!
Stop…
Take!” His shout to stop it was futile; the Turtle Shell acted on its own volition.
Before it could fully merge into his Turtle Shell, the External Space suddenly opened and he cried out, “Take!”
The Turtle Shell fell completely into the External Space.
Su He fell silent.
When he first tried to remove the Turtle Shell, he had considered storing it in the External Space, even thought of using Fu Mountain to completely dissolve it, but nothing worked.
It couldn’t be dissolved or stored away.
Now, after the Turtle Shell was replenished, it could be stored.
Su He returned to the hall.
Looking at the Dragon Turtle carcass, he said again, “Sister, can you take back your Divine Skills?”
There was no response from within the hall.
Su He opened the External Space and flung the Turtle Shell towards the Dragon Turtle carcass.
As soon as the Turtle Shell appeared, it immediately snapped onto the Turtle Shell, merging instantly; the dark turtle once again became the White Jade Dragon Turtle.
True yuan condensed liquid and Divine Sense ignited once more, and the vast power surged back into his body.
At that moment, Su He felt he could once again pin the Stepping Sky Realm to the ground.
But this time, there was a slight difference.
Su He said, “Take!”
The Turtle Shell immediately fell and entered the External Space.
“Come out!”
The Turtle Shell emerged—out of control and unmanageable—directly embedding itself onto the Turtle Shell.
His strength returned, consuming Divine Sense and True yuan condensed liquid significantly.
It could be stored or released, but not discarded.
Su He: “…”
Did this Turtle Shell take the surname Su?
The pleasant voice in the hall sounded, “Call me sister!”
