Chapter 1411: Chapter 1408: I, Am, Not, The, Other, Woman!

"Mistress... heh..."

Lily almost laughed out loud, "So, Mrs. Wellington, you’re saying that I’m the mistress?"

Mrs. Wellington flipped her long hair, unabashedly retorting, "Yes, the mistress I’m talking about is you."

"Miss Redington, even though you’ve had plastic surgery to look like Lily Gray and forced Aidan Lucas to divorce her, I’ve seen too many mistresses like you who dream of climbing the social ladder. Do you really think that by getting a face identical to Lily Gray’s, Aidan Lucas will actually like you?"

"Hmph, he abandoned the real deal, you think he’d care about a fake article like you? What’s more, even if he agreed to divorce Lily Gray, it doesn’t mean he is willing to marry you. Otherwise, why don’t you go ahead and try it out, see if he ends up marrying you in the end!"

Mrs. Wellington was always protective of the artists from her own company.

Additionally, she particularly despised mistresses.

When Larry Scott said his niece wanted to meet her, Mrs. Wellington had already guessed that the niece in question could be the shameless Lily Redington.

Seeing the visitor, it indeed was.

This gave Mrs. Wellington an opportunity to "uphold justice."

"Mrs. Wellington, I appreciate your righteousness, but sometimes righteousness doesn’t mean correctness. What you see is only what you think is right. It looks like you’re championing justice, but in reality, you might be abetting tyranny."

"What do you mean abetting tyranny? You destroying your cousin’s family and stealing her husband is a well-known fact now."

Mrs. Wellington, being a wealthy lady, had some culture.

Seeing that people were already looking over, she couldn’t help but lower her voice, "Miss Redington, if it weren’t for the fact that most people here still haven’t recognized your face, do you think a mistress as infamous as you could walk the streets undisturbed?"

Upon saying this, Mrs. Wellington’s face suddenly turned cold, "Taking into account that you are Commander Scott’s niece, I would advise you to stay home and avoid going out. As for your involvement with Aidan Lucas, it’s best if you break it off as soon as possible."

Mrs. Wellington’s seductive almond-shaped eyes slightly raised, looking down on Lily with a condescending gaze.

Lily initially didn’t have much dislike for Mrs. Wellington and even thought she was a rare justice-minded person at first.

But now, being stared at with such a scornful look, Lily’s temper flared up immediately.

"Mrs. Wellington, you’re right, a mistress indeed shouldn’t be walking the streets. But I want to clarify something, I, am, not, a, mistress!"

"Hmph, you say you’re not one and that’s it? I..."

"There’s no need to rush, Mrs. Wellington, if I dare to say so, naturally I can prove it to you."

Lily glanced at Mrs. Wellington and took out her cell phone in front of her.

Moments later, the phone call connected.

She spoke to the person on the other end, "I’m here now... hmm... she’s sitting opposite me. Would you like to speak to her? Okay then, hold on."

After Lily finished speaking, she extended the phone to Mrs. Wellington.

"Who is it?" Mrs. Wellington looked at the offered cell phone, unwilling to accept it.

She had no interest in answering some random call.

Lily curved her lips slightly, "Someone who can prove my identity."

After hearing this, Mrs. Wellington let out a disdainful chuckle, "Someone who can prove your identity? That must be one of your friends then? Naturally, your friend would speak on your behalf, I have no reason to take the call."

"Mrs. Wellington won’t take it then?" Lily nodded lightly and took back the phone.

She said into the receiver, "I’m sorry Joan, your mother doesn’t wish to take the call. Alright, in that case, I’ll just..."

Before she had finished speaking, Mrs. Wellington, who was sitting across from her, suddenly stood up.

"Joan... is this a call from our Joan?"

"Give it to me, quick!"

Lily smiled demurely and winked at Mrs. Wellington.

Then, right in front of her, she hung up the call.
