Chapter 1395: Chapter 1392: It Seems Like It’s Time to ’Catch the Cheater’!
Lily covered her face and ran back to her room, leaning against the door after she closed it. It took her a long while to stabilize her breathing.
Aidan Lucas... how could he so blatantly flirt with her?
Didn’t he know he was still under observation?
Annoyed with herself, Lily shook her head and placed the ring box on the table before stepping into the bathroom.
Seeing her flushed face in the mirror, she wished she could find a hole to crawl into.
She really was useless, spoiling the advantageous situation David Redington had orchestrated for her.
If Aidan Lucas had been cold to her, maybe she could’ve grown some backbone.
But his sexy and seductive behavior, his teasing yet not-quite-smiling gaze, was clearly cheating.
Against this kind of Aidan Lucas, Lily had always been powerless.
The fact that she managed to leave him, dizzy and weak-kneed from his kisses, was already a vast improvement from four years ago.
Lily splashed her face with cool water and after a few deep breaths to eject that troublesome man from her thoughts, she finally walked out of the bathroom.
Lily went to bed and picked up the cyan brocade box on the nightstand.
She held the ring box in her palm and slowly opened it.
The solemn and magnificent antique wedding ring appeared before her eyes.
Sighing softly at the ring, Lily ran her fingers gently over the engraved letters.
"Aidan Lucas..." she murmured dreamily, as her almond-shaped eyes gazed through the ring and seemed to see a man’s face.
The same stunningly handsome features, but those deep, sharp black pupils carried a cold and bloodthirsty aura that differed from his primary personality.
That was the second personality she remembered. At their first meeting, his gaze had seemed as cold and merciless as this.
But the man in her illusion slightly turned his head, his gaze meeting Lily’s.
Upon seeing Lily, the coldness in his eyes faded away.
Those deep, black pupils softened with a tender smile.
"Lily, I’m not there, but you must take good care of yourself..." Aidan Lucas’s smile settled in his eyes.
Such a fierce and chilly man, yet he always smiled at her with endless tenderness.
He walked towards her and came to a stop in front of her.
His warm and strong hand rested on the top of her head.
He gently stroked her and whispered, "Remember, you have to be happy, you must be happy. Stay with him, and cherish my concession. I love you, Lily."
After he finished speaking, Lily watched as Aidan Lucas’s figure slowly faded away before her eyes.
She tried to stop him, reaching for his sleeve, but could only grasp at air.
"No, don’t go..."
Lily tried to hold on, calling out to the man whose shadow was nearly translucent, "Don’t leave, I will be happy, we will be good together... But can’t you stay..."
Sadly, her voice no longer reached him.
Lily just watched the man disappear right before her eyes.
"No, don’t—" Suddenly opening her eyes, Lily sat up instantly.
With cold sweat on her forehead, she looked around and realized it had all been a dream.
"Phew—" Taking a deep breath, Lily picked up the ring box that had fallen beside her and placed the item back into the nightstand drawer.
She must have been thinking about it during the day, which led to the dream at night.
Wiping away the sweat from her forehead, she noticed it was already seven o’clock in the morning and decided to just get up.

Lily descended the stairs for breakfast and was about to enter the restaurant when she heard a man’s low and pleasing voice coming from inside.
"This was specially prepared by the kitchen. I heard you prefer light flavors. This crab soup is just the right balance of light and nutritious. Go ahead, don’t be shy, have some more."
Aidan Lucas’s voice was deep and magnetic, with a hint of eagerness to please.
At this hour, Lulu and Abbie certainly wouldn’t be up.
Emily Taylor had taken Charles Taylor back to A City to visit relatives. With such solicitude, who was he speaking to?
Lily suddenly panicked for no reason, marching directly into the restaurant.
