Domineering Mr. CEO and His Impudent Love -
Chapter 1377 - 1374: Little Abbie’s Assist
Chapter 1377: Chapter 1374: Little Abbie’s Assist
The man’s attitude was sincere, his tone filled with a hint of melancholy.
Such an Aidan Lucas was no longer the domineering and dictatorial old man in Abbie’s memory.
But Abbie was not one to be easily moved.
He was about to refuse when his gaze casually swept over Aidan Lucas’s face, only to be taken aback.
As an exceptionally intelligent and sensitive child with keen observation, even though Aidan Lucas had masked it well, Abbie still caught the fleeting look of dejection in his eyes.
For some reason, this despondent Aidan Lucas actually stirred a sense of compassion in Abbie.
The rejection that was on the tip of his tongue was thus altered.
"Okay, I’ll help you."
Upon hearing this, Aidan Lucas’s lips slightly curved upwards.
If Lily were here, she would definitely be moved.
Mr. Jenkins, indeed, was still cunning as ever.
The private jet returning to Eastonia from Europe was currently en route.
Lily had already fallen asleep by now.
David Redington had fetched several thin blankets to wrap Lily up tightly.
She was now pregnant, and long-haul flights could easily tire her out; catching a cold on top of that would be even more troublesome.
David Redington, afraid that Lily would continue to worry about Aidan Lucas, had turned off her phone before boarding the plane.
At this moment, he sat next to Lily’s seat, watching over her sleeping face from across the aisle.
"Fool," he murmured with a slight frown, softly complaining, "Is that man really that good?"
To the point where you’ve been hopelessly in love with him since a few years ago?
David Redington still remembered the time when he didn’t know Lily’s true identity.
Thinking she was Bella Scott’s daughter, he feigned affection for her and even deliberately confessed to her in public.
His attentiveness was met with strong resistance from Aidan Lucas, which also sparked the man’s jealousy.
Looking back, it seemed that man wasn’t just toying with Lily; his feelings were genuine.
However...
Thinking of the injuries on his sister’s neck, collarbone, and back, David Redington’s rage that had just subsided flared up once more.
Hmph, Aidan Lucas... if you claim to love our Lily, then prepare for what’s to come.
Not beating you at your own game would be a loss for me.
As the plane flew on, David Redington was contemplating how to ’test’ Aidan Lucas when a call came through on the plane’s satellite phone.
There were only a few people who knew the Reddington family private jet’s phone number.
Without any suspicion, David Redington answered the call.
"Mother..." Abbie’s soft voice came from the other end.
"It’s Uncle."
"Uncle David, you’re there too." From the other end of the phone, a hint of panic flashed in Abbie’s eyes.
It’s easy to coax mother, but Uncle David...
It seemed a change of plan was in order.
David Redington, recognizing Abbie’s voice, got straight to the point. "Abbie, is there an emergency? Do you need to speak with your mother?"
David Redington found it strange because Abbie would video call Lily every day, and last night Lily had just told the three children that she was returning to Eastonia.
Abbie was a sensible child and wouldn’t call the plane for no reason.
"Yes, Uncle, there’s an emergency." In the span of a single sentence, Abbie had come up with a reason. "It’s Lulu. Lulu had an accident."
After speaking, Abbie quickly covered Lulu’s mouth and then gestured with his eyes for Aidan Lucas to take Lulu away, still covering her mouth.
Poor little Lulu had no idea what was happening.
She heard Abbie call for uncle and wanted to greet him.
But before she could speak, Abbie had already muffled her mouth.
"Lulu was playing in the garden, when she fell from a tree. She didn’t climb too high nor did she fall hard, but you know how much of a crybaby Lulu can be. She’s now crying and sobbing, refusing to apply medicine or get a shot properly. She won’t behave until mother comes back. I’m so bothered by her crying that I don’t want to deal with it..."
