Chapter 645: Chapter 611: I Like You So Much
Cherish Turner didn’t see the text until the next day. She never expected to sleep in for so long. Awaking, she instinctively reached for her phone to check the time. It was 7:26 AM, but his message had been sent yesterday afternoon around 4 PM.
After freshening herself up, Cherish didn’t immediately return his call, thinking it was still too early.
Just as she was about to call him at nine, someone knocked at her door. She opened it to find a towering figure standing outside.
And of course, a cool and aloof little dumpling!
Lewis!
Upon seeing the little fellow, Cherish flung herself at him in excitement!
Embracing him tightly as if scared that if she let go, Lewis would disappear before her eyes.
That feeling sprouted naturally. Although she used to like him before knowing he was her child, the fondness then nowhere near compared to now.
This was a feeling she didn’t think anyone else could fully understand.
"Auntie Cherish, you’re hurting me!"
Lewis was clearly startled. He’d never imagined that Cherish could hug him like this.
"Sorry, sorry, Auntie Cherish didn’t mean to. Lewis, does it hurt now?"
"It doesn’t hurt anymore!" The little fellow shook his head.
"That’s good. Lewis, can Auntie kiss you?" As she spoke, Cherish felt tears welling up in her eyes, but she didn’t want to scare the child.
"You can, but Auntie, you have to be gentle."
"Mhm, Auntie will be very gentle." As she spoke, Cherish carefully kissed Lewis’s cheek. But after the kiss, she felt it wasn’t enough. No amount of kisses could ever be enough.
She held Lewis, showering him with kisses, wishing she could hold him in her hands without dropping him, or keep him in her mouth without melting him.
So, this is what maternal love feels like!
"Auntie, you seem to like me so much. Do you want to be my mom?"
The little one asked.
Cherish was visibly nervous. She glanced at William Griffith, who gave her a reassuring look.
"Do... Do you want Auntie Cherish to be your mom, Lewis?"
"I would like that, but first, you have to marry my dad. I actually like you quite a bit."
Cherish felt a mix of joy and disappointment. She was happy that the child genuinely liked her but disappointed that his affection was not of the kind a child would have for their mother.
"Let’s take this slowly." William said, "Children always need time to adjust. Otherwise, it will only scare him."
Cherish nodded.
"Can I sleep with Lewis tonight?"
She wished to hold him in her arms, not parting for even a moment.
For several days after, Cherish continued sleeping with Lewis. Any request Lewis made, she granted, leading to the little fellow growing more spoiled by the day.
And the most troubled was William.
In his previous life, he must have been a monk for such celibacy to be so unbearable in this life!
On a warm and romantic morning, William got up early and went outside.
Cherish got up too while Lewis was still asleep. Last night, he listened to loads of stories, all told by Cherish, far more than he had ever heard. Therefore, he didn’t get to sleep until very late and couldn’t get up the next day.
Therefore, it was a quiet moment for Cherish and William.
"I brought breakfast, let’s have it together."
The breakfast, from the dim sum shop they used to visit, included delicious soup dumplings and crisp turnovers filled with red bean paste.
Cherish didn’t eat much. She had half a bowl of rice porridge and one soup dumpling. After two bites of the turnover, she was full and muttered, "Such a waste not being able to finish it all."
William put down his spoon, without a second thought, took the turnover from her hand, and quickly finished it.
There were some sesame seeds on his cheek, she reached out and gently brushed them away, mocking him with the same words he once said to her, "You big glutton."
Her delicate hand was extremely soft. Its touch on his face made William’s heart quiver.
He gazed at her intensely, and said in a low voice, "I’ve been hungry for a long time."
Bang —
Cherish blushed.
"Change clothes and let’s go."
"Where to?"
Yesterday afternoon, Lady Lottie and the Tanigawa family arrived in Haicheng. Lady Lottie planned to spend Christmas with Cherish. But since Cherish had rushed back, she decided to join the Tanigawa family on their private plane here.
William and the Tanigawa family agreed to play golf together. When they arrived at the golf course in the western suburbs, the Tanigawa family was already there. The weather was good, with plenty of sunshine. Tanigawa Kenichi sat to one side, cleaning his golf clubs, looking displeased. Green spotted the newcomers and immediately shouted, "Mr. Griffith, Miss Turner, you’re here."
