Domineering Love
Chapter 641 - 609: Seeing Son

Chapter 641: Chapter 609: Seeing Son

"No need..." Cherish Turner was just about to refuse, but William Griffith insisted, "I’ll give you a ride!"

With just these three words, he overpowered her voice, and his domineering attitude left her unable to refuse.

The two of them changed their shoes and left the apartment.

The car was parked not far away, so they walked over together at a leisurely pace.

The moonlight was lovely, casting a glow on her delicate face, adding a layer of luminous softness that made her appear incredibly beautiful. William’s heart trembled as he held the ring in his pants pocket. He slowed his pace, matching her short strides. He moved his lips after several attempts, and finally asked, "You..."

"What?" Cherish murmured in reply.

His heartbeat quickened like never before. William fell silent, not looking at her but asking indifferently, "Are you happy?"

He wanted to ask her one question, but once it left his mouth, it turned into this. He couldn’t help but ridicule himself: William Griffith, so you’ve also reached this point.

Cherish pondered quietly. If she said she wasn’t happy, would he be sad? She looked straight ahead and cheerfully said, "Yes, I’m very happy."

The slight curve of her smile and her carefree tone made William feel as if he was being pricked by needles. She said she was happy, so he shouldn’t intrude any longer. He spoke in a deep voice, "That’s good then."

"Tomorrow, we’re going on a trip to celebrate Christmas in Hokkaido." After a moment of silence, Cherish changed the subject, "What about you? Any plans for Christmas?"

William hesitated before casually replying, "I’m going on a trip too."

He wished this road could be longer, much longer, never-ending. But he knew that even the longest road would come to an end. The street lights cast long, slanting shadows, reminiscent of someone’s sorrow. It was an enduring, lonely, melancholic sort of sadness.

Days went by, and William received no news of her.

All he knew was that she had gone on a trip. She had told him that they were going to travel together and celebrate Christmas in Hokkaido. He remembered how she loved snow, but their coastal city never got any, so she went to a snowy country instead. He had barely left his home for days, only taking Lewis for walks in their neighborhood.

Yannis Griffith did visit him and brought him a book.

William took the book and told him to leave. Holding the copy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, he was reminded of the time she told him a story in the hospital. He had never read storybooks before, only books related to finance. But now, he flipped the pages, silently reading each word.

She had bought plaid slippers, selected shampoo and body wash, her photo was still on the wall, and now, he held the book she had once held herself. It felt as if she was by his side.

The apartment was quiet on the eve of Christmas.

Suddenly, his phone rang loudly.

William answered the call, and Oscar Winston teased, "William, why hasn’t she invited you to join the fun yet? Didn’t I say I would cover your travel expenses?"

"Hang up!" William spat out the two words, ready to end the call.

"Wait, don’t hang up!" Oscar quickly stopped him, laughing loudly. "I bet you still don’t know, do you?"

William remained silent, the laughter on the other end of the phone grating on his nerves. Then, Oscar said with a laugh, "God wanted me to tell you, Cherish Turner is divorced!"

"Really?" He questioned intently, his heart skipping a beat.

What? She’s divorced?

"God bless you!" Oscar replied flippantly. William abruptly hung up the phone.

"Dad, what’s going on?"

Lewis looked up at him, and William smiled, pinching his son’s cheek, "Stay at home, I’m going to bring your mom back!"

"Mom?" What the hell! Has Dad fallen in love again??

At four o’clock in the afternoon, the man boarded a flight to Hokkaido at the airport.

For some people, you only get one chance in a lifetime to meet them.

If you miss that chance, you might never see them again.

If you miss them, it will be like the ends of the earth.

Never, ever again will you encounter that girl, the girl who belongs to him.

My girl, have you been taken by the Snow Queen as well?

In December, Hokkaido is a world of snow.

A heavy snowfall from the day before had lasted for two days and nights, finally stopping in the morning. The entire region was blanketed in white. The sky was illuminated by the reflection from the snow, creating a bright landscape. Outside in the snowy terrain, children were bundled up like glutinous rice dumplings, engaging in snowball fights. Their joyful laughter, seemingly audible even through the window panes, filled the air.
