Chapter 603: Chapter 592: Don’t Want Him To Be In Trouble_3

Facing the accusations, Daniel Peacock’s handsome face tightened, and he did not utter a word. With determination, he stormed out of the hall and left.

"Mr. Old Master Griffith, Madam Griffith, I will take a look." Wilson Ferguson said after a reminder, and with the guidance of a police officer, he arrived at the visiting room.

Inside the visiting room, William Griffith sat silently on a chair.

Lawyer Ferguson sat opposite him, respectfully asking, "Mr. Griffith, do you have any instructions?"

William’s eyes condensed, and his heroic brows were furrowed together. He seemed extremely troubled, for the first time, as if he hadn’t thought everything through. After a long silence, he finally spoke faintly, his voice particularly low, "Tell them not to visit me, I’m fine."

"Yes." Lawyer Ferguson responded.

William hesitated, and then added, "Send some people to protect Cherish Turner. Don’t let her discover them, and don’t let anything happen to her."

Upon learning that William Griffith had been taken away, Cherish Turner’s thoughts became slightly chaotic, and she considered every possible approach. As she inadvertently looked up, she saw the Supreme Court on her left side. Suddenly, an idea flashed through her mind, and she thought of someone. Just then, her cell phone rang. Taking a look, it showed the magazine’s number. She answered the call, and on the other end, Emmy Chip’s roar echoed. Cherish simply said, "Deputy Editor Chip, I’m sorry, but I have urgent matters to attend to and must take a leave."

Without waiting for Chip to say anything, Cherish hung up the phone and hurriedly returned home. Going through her belongings, she couldn’t find where she had put that business card. After searching for a long time without success, she tried hard to recall and vaguely remembered the "United States." It was almost blind hope that forced her to calm down.

Cherish Turner immediately packed her things and slammed the door as she left.

It took more than ten hours to travel from Haicheng to the United States, but she finally made it.

A foreign city, a foreign airport, a foreign accent.

New York in early November was slightly chilly. Even though she had arrived in the United States, Cherish was still at a loss. She hailed a taxi, and when the driver asked her where she was going, Cherish asked, "Sir, do you know the law firm of Lawyer Oscar Winston?"

"Lawyer Winston?" The driver hesitated and then said, to Cherish’s expectation, "Of course I know! Who doesn’t?"

"Take me there!" Cherish said excitedly.

The taxi sped onto the elevated highway, and the unfamiliar city with its rich ancient charm was vividly etched in Cherish Turner’s sight. She felt a headache coming on but couldn’t fall asleep, forcing herself to stay awake until she saw that man. The car seemed to drive for a long time before finally stopping in front of a tall building.

There were two stone lions in front of the building, very imposing. The plaque was engraved with the English initials "HEN Law Firm."

Cherish walked into the law firm, and the receptionist smiled and asked, "Miss, what services do you need?"

Cherish stepped forward, "I want to see Lawyer Oscar Winston."

"I’m sorry, miss. Mr. Winston is not at the law firm!"

"I have a case and want him to be the defense lawyer!" Cherish insisted. The receptionist said again, "Miss, Mr. Winston is no longer taking cases! There are other lawyers in the firm who can serve you! I can arrange for you to contact them!"

"Can you tell me how to see Lawyer Winston? I’m really in a hurry!"

"I’m sorry, miss."

Cherish was left without direction. What should she do?

-

Three days later

"Campbell, that lady is here again!"

"Yeah, I saw."

"What does she want with Mr. Winston?"

"Who knows! She said she wanted Mr. Winston to be her defense lawyer, but with so many excellent lawyers in our firm, why is she fixated on him? Besides, everyone in the United States knows that Mr. Winston no longer takes cases! I think her ulterior motives are not about the case!"

Oscar Winston was a very influential figure in the United States, with many lovers and girlfriends. Which woman wouldn’t want to get close to him? The firm’s employees were no strangers to such women! So every day, they treated her inquiries as a joke and paid her no further attention, letting her sit and wait in the hall by herself.

It had been three days since Cherish had arrived in this strange city. She was unable to inquire about Oscar Winston’s whereabouts nor did she know how to find him. With no choice left, she stayed at a nearby hotel and came to the law firm to wait every day from morning till night. She didn’t know whether she should give up or return to Haicheng to assess the situation.

Crowds flocked out, and Cherish stood at the entrance. Even the warm breeze that blew by made her feel a chill that spread from the soles of her feet. It was only after a long while that she lowered her head and sat on a chair at the side once again.
