Miss Rivers started yelling, "I want to see my defense lawyer! I want to see my lawyer!"

If Miss Rivers cannot see a lawyer, the police officers’ interrogation cannot proceed. After a short while, Lawyer Gibson arrived to visit her. Miss Rivers didn’t know this Lawyer Gibson, but she knew he must have been sent by the Johnson Family. Lawyer Gibson sat down across from her and said slowly, "Miss Rivers, Mr. Old Johnson has assigned me as your defense lawyer."

"I do not want to go to jail!" Miss Rivers growled through gritted teeth.

"Miss Rivers, please stay calm." Lawyer Gibson lowered his voice, speaking sternly, "Old Johnson asked me to tell you this: your family is well, they will all immigrate, and they will absolutely not lack money."

Upon hearing this, Miss Rivers finally realized that they were setting her up as the fall guy. After a moment of silence, she suddenly sneered.

"Everything needs to proceed according to the original plan without any mistakes, so that Miss Rivers’ family will be safe," Lawyer Gibson advised once again. Miss Rivers narrowed her eyes, glaring at him with apparent resentment.

After Lawyer Gibson left, a police officer came to interrogate her again, "Miss Rivers, you were Mr. Griffith’s personal secretary at Griffith, correct?"

"Yes."

The police officer took out a file and showed it to Miss Rivers, "Could you explain why the biggest shareholder of Seashore Corporation is you?"

"Officer, I would like to know, if the charges against me are true, what punishment could I face? Could there be a lighten punishment if I confess?" Miss Rivers slowly raised her head. The icy cold interrogation room made her whole body feel frosty.

"As long as you show sincerity in admitting your guilt and tell us everything you know, we’ll plea for leniency from the judge on your behalf," the police officer said.

Miss Rivers did not respond, she just nodded numbly.

She was silent for a long time before finally speaking in a soft whisper. There was no hesitation in her words, as though she was stating a fact. However, the tremor in her voice revealed her fear and nervousness, "He asked me to do so. He gave me a sum of money to act as the behind-the-scenes shareholder of the company. And then to gut Seashore in order to profit. If you don’t believe me, the money is still in my account, and I haven’t spent a penny of it! Everything I’ve said is true. You must believe me!"

"Whether it’s true or not, we will investigate!" the police officer responded sternly, then asked, "Whom are you referring to in your statement?"

Miss Rivers stared ahead, blankly focusing on a certain point, then finally the name came out of her mouth, "William Griffith."

While the interrogation was underway, the Griffith Family had rushed to the police station upon receiving the news.

The elders of the Griffith Family appeared disturbed. The sudden news had shocked them. William Griffith was actually involved in a commercial crime and secretly profiting from Griffith? That was absolutely impossible! But the four major shareholders had already stepped forward, even reporting to the police station which made things irretrievable.

In the police station lobby, Thomas Harrison said, "Mr. and Mrs., please don’t worry, we will get things sorted out, things will eventually be resolved."

Hearing this, Robert Griffith remained worried but could only wait patiently.

"Who are the relatives of Mr. William Griffith?" After a while, Aaron Green came out with two police officers and asked sternly.

"We are!" The old lady answered immediately, and then Robert Griffith asked, "Officer, where is he? Is he alright now?"

"Mr. William Griffith is currently implicated in a major commercial crime and we need to hold him under criminal detention!" Aaron Green spoke in an official tone. "But please rest assured, the police will investigate thoroughly!"

"Detained? Why should he be detained?" Robert Griffith blurted out angrily.

"Officer, I am Mr. Griffith’s personal attorney Wilson Ferguson, and I am here to apply for bail on behalf of Mr. Griffith!"

"I’m sorry, but bail is not possible!" Aaron Green said coldly.

These words shocked the Griffith family elders. Robert Griffith shouted in a trembling voice, "Why can’t he be released on bail! He has not committed a crime! Do you have any evidence!"

"I demand to see Mr. Griffith!" Lawyer Ferguson said.

Aaron Green nodded slightly, "Take Lawyer Ferguson to him."

At this moment, Daniel Peacock happened to walk out. An awaiting subordinate immediately welcomed him, "President Peacock, our master has sent me to fetch you."

Daniel Peacock had a rare serious look on his elegant face as if he understood the gravity of the situation. He remained silent and walked out of the lobby with his subordinate. As he turned around, he saw Robert Griffith standing there. Suddenly, it seemed difficult to face him. Seeing Daniel Peacock unharmed, Robert Griffith’s brows furrowed. Suddenly, he pointed at him sternly, "It’s you!"
