Chapter 598: Chapter 591: I Will Accept the Interview
Cherish Turner rushed Robert Griffith to a nearby hospital, quickly completing the necessary paperwork. Upon arrival, the doctor took immediate action. Griffith regained consciousness, perfectly safe, just momentarily overloaded from a lack of oxygen. Nurses allowed him to stay in an oxygen room for a while to recover. He felt much better and finally returned to his room for rest, completely recuperated.
After the doctor finished examining him and cautioned him, he went away with the nurse.
Except for Griffith, only Cherish was left in the room, standing quietly to the side. Griffith glanced at the water glass on the side, wanting to drink but finding the cup empty. He just looked away without making a sound, his stubborn and strong face reminding Cherish of someone, making her smile involuntarily.
Cherish picked up the glass, poured him a cup of warm water from the dispenser, and handed it to him, "Have some water."
"No thanks," Griffith arrogantly refused, unappreciative.
Cherish didn’t get upset but coaxed him, "The doctor just said to drink lots of water. If you won’t drink, I’ll have to go and get the nurse."
Griffith’s stern face was rigid, his stubbornness unmistakable. He silently reached out for the glass and drank it quickly. Maybe he drank too fast or felt a bit uncomfortable. He choked on the water, continued coughing, his hand trembling slightly, and the warm water spilled onto the bedsheets.
Cherish quickly took the glass and put it down, pulling out some tissues to wipe him off. She gently patted his back and asked, "How are you? Do you feel uncomfortable? Should I call the doctor?"
"No need! Cough! Why call a doctor! Cough, cough!" Griffith interrupted intermittently.
"Do you want more water?" Cherish followed his wishes and treated him like a big child, "I’ll pour you a little more."
"No more!" Griffith grumbled. Despite this, Cherish poured him another glass and placed it by the bed. Her obedient actions left Griffith stunned, but he dismissed it as boot-licking. In annoyance, he commented, "You don’t have to be nice to me! Hurry up and leave! No matter how nice you are, I will not give consent!"
Cherish just uttered a soft "Mm-hmm" and said gently, "Once people arrive, I’ll leave."
The air was somewhat stale, and the smell of disinfectant was pungent. Griffith’s face was a little flushed. Cherish quietly went to the window and opened it. The cool autumn breeze blew in, dispersing the stale air and refreshing the room. Griffith moved his lips and asked in a low voice, "What were you doing with him that day?"
Cherish remembered, knowing he was referring to the day at the five-star hotel, "I work at a magazine company, and the editor-in-chief asked me to assist the deputy editor-in-chief with star interviews. Our finance theme star interview this issue was with him."
Griffith seemed to have his doubts, but looking at her clean, innocent face, he didn’t think she was lying, "What a coincidence. Which magazine?"
"IN Magazine."
"Your magazine’s editor-in-chief is really stupid!" Griffith scoffed, "He never accepts interviews, don’t they know?"
"Our editor-in-chief said that we can only try our best; the rest is up to fate," Cherish calmly replied.
"That’s even more foolish! Attempting it despite knowing it’s impossible, isn’t that just making a fool of themselves? Plus it’s a waste of time!" Griffith rambled on, unknowingly changing the topic, "But he does have good taste. Speaking of the finance sector in Haisei, if Jimmy Watson dares to claim second place, no one dares to claim first. He has been watching financial news with me since he was a child, every day!"
Upon seeing his prideful look, Cherish couldn’t help saying, "You must have asked him to watch it. Which kid watches financial news!"
"You go and ask him if I made him watch!" Griffith rebutted.
"So...." Cherish smiled softly, speaking gently, "I think he must have wanted to spend more time with you. You must have been constantly busy, with no time to accompany him, so he thought he could be alone with you at that time. And judging by your happiness, he thought you must enjoy it, so he started watching it every day."
Griffith became startled, as if he hadn’t expected her to say that. Perhaps no one had ever said such things to him, like what she had said two days ago.
Griffith became lost in thought. He felt a pang of regret as he looked at her calm and smiling face.
"Master!" The woman’s shout broke the silence. The old lady finally arrived. She rushed into the ward and anxiously asked, "Master! How are you? Is everything okay?"
