Chapter 588: Chapter 583: How Far Apart is the Distance
The car drove along the long street, and Cherish Turner gazed at the scenery outside the window, looking back to ask, "How did you find the time today?"
William Griffith laughed and teased, "What, you didn’t want me to pick you up?"
"No," Cherish also laughed, "I just don’t want to trouble you."
"I happened to have a gathering nearby, and the timing was just about right, so I came," said William calmly, glancing through the front mirror at the group of people who had left.
"Doctor Liam really is a gentleman," said secretary Cheey, unable to hide her envy.
Smith, having drunk a bit too much, was slightly tipsy. "President Griffith, let’s call it a day. You should go back to the hotel and rest."
Everyone went their separate ways, and William Griffith also got into his car.
The car window was half open, and the wind whistled past. Yet, the words kept swirling in William Griffith’s ears - the phrase "how have you been recently", the phrase "I am married", the phrase "Doctor Liam really is a gentleman". Earlier, he told himself that she might be getting married soon, or that she might be joking. However, he knew deep down that she would never lie. When she didn’t want to answer, she would just stay silent, even if she was being truthful; she would only stay silent.
But, how was she actually married?

Due to Mr. Louis’ instructions the day before yesterday, Cherish Turner arrived early at the hotel where William Griffith was staying to report for duty. She waited quietly in the hotel lobby’s coffee lounge area, and after a while, William Griffith appeared. He was no longer dressed in a sharp and dashing suit, but instead wore a thin black V-neck sweater and dark casual pants. His tall figure was a unique sight to behold.
"President Griffith, today’s trip is all planned out," Cherish said softly as she stood in front of him.
London, the capital of the United Kingdom, is also the largest city and port in the nation. Its prosperity is well known, with sights such as Westminster Palace, the striking sounds of Big Ben at noon, the Millennium Bridge, and the tranquility of the Thames River flowing beneath it.
Standing on the Millennium Bridge, William Griffith was about to take out a cigarette when Cherish began to caution him using her comprehensive theoretical knowledge, "One cigarette contains enough nicotine to poison a rat, while twenty can poison a cow. Smoking is harmful to your health; you should cut down."
William simply put the cigarette back, staring into her eyes, and said, "Some things are just impossible to quit."
His voice was distant, and Cherish looked away towards a nearby café, "Let’s go sit there."
On the way, Cherish casually bought a magazine from a newsstand. The streets bustled with people, and they sat in the open-air café, sipping on a fragrant coffee and enjoying delicious pastries - it was truly the most delightful experience.
William looked down at the magazine, which was about astronomy. "When did you become interested in this?"
Cherish scooped a piece of cake with her spoon, speaking softly, "I just find it fascinating. One night, as I looked up at the sky, I wondered what those twinkling things were. That’s when I started buying books."
"What have you discovered?"
"That those twinkling things are sometimes planets, but mostly stars, and some are even massive galaxies, each containing hundreds of billions of stars..." As she listened to her gentle female voice describe astronomical knowledge, William finally understood the meaning of "distance."
