William Griffith decided on a whim, and suddenly, he dragged her towards the mall.

About half an hour later, they emerged, but they had exchanged their suits and dresses for new clothes.

William Griffith was dressed in a dark blue British-style school uniform. That shade of blue was as deep as ink, which coupled with his handsome face, gave him a unique prince-of-school appeal. He even changed out of his leather shoes, into lace-up sneakers. On the other hand, Cherish Turner had pulled her long hair back into a ponytail with a cute strawberry hair adornment. She was similarly dressed in a British-style pleated skirt uniform, and together, they looked like a matching couple.

Cherish looked at herself and then at him.

Oh my God! Were they really going out dressed like this?

William Griffith held her hand, looking for the student couples’ motel. The motel wasn’t far, just across three streets, tucked away in an alley. When they finally found the motel, Cherish couldn’t bring herself to enter it. Pretending to be a university student and renting a room at a student motel was probably the most outrageous thing she’s ever done in her life!

William Griffith didn’t care, he simply put his arm around her and went in.

The owner of the motel looked at them, asked them to register with their IDs. She looked at their identification and proceeded to book the room without any further inquiries. Cherish felt quite alienated and kept her head down. She followed him silently up to their room, only looking up when he opened the door with the room card.

The room was small but very clean and tidy.

Compared to the hotels he usually stayed at, this place could hardly compare.

Once William Griffith closed the room door, he finally let go of her hand. He walked towards the carpeted floor and sat, looking at the night view through the window, "Cherish, I need a drink."

Cherish responded with an "oh", and turned to get it. Seeing apple juice, she naturally chose it as a beverage. She opened the cap and went to sit next to him, offering him the bottle, "Here you go."

William Griffith took the apple juice and took a big sip.

Meanwhile, Cherish silently took something out from her pocket, holding it in the palm of her hands, "A gift."

William Griffith was drinking his juice when he glanced over at her. She slowly opened her hand to reveal a lighter.

It was purely black, so much so that it shone in the light.

She had actually bought this lighter a long time ago, but just hadn’t found the opportunity to gift it to him.

William Griffith set the juice bottle aside and shifted his gaze from the lighter to her face, then leaned over closer to her. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer and bent down to kiss her, the sweet taste of the apple juice passed on to her.

"Your gift - is me." Saying this, William Griffith hugged Cherish Turner, and they fell onto the bed together.

Cherish wanted to struggle a bit initially, but then she thought, it’s him, and somehow, it felt unimportant to resist now. Could she actually escape from William Griffith in this lifetime?

She figured, probably not.

After a passionate night, Cherish Turner and William Griffith woke up, one after the other. When Cherish woke up, she found him gazing intently at her. She didn’t know how to react.

"Why are you staring at me like that? William Griffith, I’m ... I have to get up. I have to go to work today."

"Not yet, it’s still early, let’s sleep for a bit longer,"
