Chapter 518: Chapter 517: Locked in His Arms

"I need to wash the dishes." Cherish Turner stiffened her body and said awkwardly. At this time, she was still a little afraid that he might suddenly do something to her. The memory of the last time was too unpleasant, making her a little scared whenever she thought of it. So whenever he approached her, she instinctively shrank back.

William Griffith slightly tightened his arms and said in a low voice, "I promise I won’t touch you."

Cherish was suspicious, and he released his hand, leaning against the kitchen door, watching her. She washed the dishes and glanced back at him. He stood with his arms crossed, staring intently at her, but not saying a word. She hesitated and hesitated again, not knowing what to do.

"Go take a shower. It’s getting late." He urged her, giving her no chance to refuse.

"Are you really not going to mess around?" Cherish hesitated for a moment, unable to resist asking.

"Hmm." He grumbled in response, sounding somewhat unwilling.

Cherish sensed his reluctance and asked again, "Really?"

"Hmm—" He drew out the sound with a long tail, raising his eyebrows in a child-like manner.

Cherish thought of the words Hailey Griffith had spoken around the corner, and her heart softened with sympathy. She blinked and whispered, "All right. But if you don’t behave, I won’t speak to you ever again."

William raised his eyebrows even higher, and she caught him pouting slightly.

They each went to the bathroom to shower, and Cherish Turner scrubbed herself with foam in the small attic bathroom, feeling a little nervous. She took a very long shower. It took her a whole hour. After the shower, she put on her pajamas and went to his apartment with her pillow.

The living room was dimly lit, and the door to the bedroom was half-open.

Cherish hesitated, not knowing what to do, and lingered in the living room. After a long time of standing and hesitating, he finally came out of the bedroom. He, too, had changed into his pajamas, a silver-blue silk set that clung to his body, outlining the curves of his muscular physique.

Seeing her look of distress, William didn’t say anything. He just walked up to her, took her hand, and led her into the bedroom, turning off the living room light as they went. There was only a bedside lamp lit in the bedroom. Everything in his bedroom had been arranged by her, even the bed sheets had been changed not long ago.

Cherish Turner stood there stiffly, hugging her pillow tightly.

He, on the other hand, lay down on the bed, turned his head to look at her, and the warmth in his eyes softened. Her shy and constrained appearance was suddenly so adorable that he couldn’t help but feel affection for her. He patted the space next to him, his devilish eyes beckoning her and said in a deep voice, "Come here."

Cherish bit her lip, then reluctantly climbed onto the bed. She lifted the covers and wrapped herself up tightly. Closing her eyes, she decided to just sleep.

Such a scene, such a conversation, she felt like experiencing it all over again.

That night...

Cherish couldn’t help but open her eyes to the sound of a "click" as the lamp was turned off. The room was now pitch black, but his dark eyes seemed even brighter. He lifted the covers and slipped in beside her. With one broad sweep of his arm, he enfolded her completely in his embrace. Her head had left her pillow, and she found herself resting on his arm, completely wrapped in his embrace.

"You..."

"Sleep." He uttered the two wordswith a hard voice, his tone lower than ever.

Held tightly in his arms, Cherish felt as though her body wasn’t her own. He said nothing more, and she remained locked in his embrace.
