Chapter 510: Chapter 509: Sending Roses

Yannis Griffith’s eyes were deep and restrained, his thin lips lightly opened as he gently greeted, "Hey."

"Hey, Senior Yannis." Cherish Turner stood there dumbfounded, unable to react in time.

Yannis Griffith, who had been away for a while, suddenly appeared in front of her?

Her surprised face broke into a smile, and Cherish chuckled shyly, "Long time no see."

"Indeed, it has been a long time. But from now on, just call me Yannis and drop the ’senior’ part." Yannis joked, shoving the large bouquet of roses into her arms. Cherish was caught off guard, and the bouquet was already in her hands. She looked at him in astonishment, but he just smiled and said, "A gift for our reunion. Do you like it?"

"I do, but..." Cherish was extremely embarrassed; who gives roses so casually?

"As long as you like it. Are you going to have lunch? Let me treat you." Yannis said cheerfully, interrupting her. He casually put his arm around her shoulder, just as he had done before. He seemed completely unbothered by the many onlookers around, talking to her and leading her out of the building.

"Assistant Turner..." A coworker called out.

Cherish realized there were still colleagues around and whispered, "Hold on. Let me tell my colleagues."

"Go ahead." Yannis released his hand and stood in place, watching her walk towards her coworkers. Cherish hurried back to her coworkers, apologizing for not being able to eat with them. But she didn’t notice that his gaze never left her, watching her with such focus.

After saying goodbye to her colleagues, Cherish returned to Yannis’s side, "All set."

The two walked out of the building together, the vibrant roses in her arms catching everyone’s attention. The crowd stood still, watching them leave and whispering amongst themselves. The envy in the eyes of her coworkers was evident. Although Assistant Turner was usually quiet, her "boyfriend" certainly surprised them.

Not far from the company, there was a restaurant with tables on the second floor where the two sat facing each other.

They ordered a few dishes and chatted while eating. The atmosphere was very relaxing and Cherish’s smile became brighter and brighter. From time to time, Yannis looked up at her, locking her smiling face in his gaze, and poured her a glass of juice, "Why did you suddenly quit your job?"

"I wanted a change of scenery." Cherish casually replied, lowering her head, "What about you? When did you come back?"

Yannis didn’t pry further, slowly saying, "I just came back today. As soon as I got to the company, I ran into your friend Xiao Jiang, who informed me you had quit. How are you adjusting to your new job?"

Cherish took a sip of her juice and shyly said, "I can only say I’ll do my best."

"If it’s you, there will be no problem." Yannis squinted his eyes, his smile concealing deep affection.

The afternoon sun was just the right amount of warmth, not too hot, nor too cold. After having their meal, the two walked out of the restaurant, and Yannis escorted Cherish back to her office. Just before the office building, Yannis stopped, "Hailey is on vacation these days, and she’ll probably be back in a couple of days. We should all get together when she returns."

"Okay," Cherish agreed without hesitation, "I’ll go in now."

Yannis grunted in acknowledgment, watching her turn around. After she had walked a few steps, he couldn’t help but call out, "Cherish!"

"What?" Cherish looked back at him, but he hesitated, still smiling gently, "My phone number hasn’t changed; it’s still the same. Call me when you have time."

She nodded and smiled before leaving.
