Chapter 501: Chapter 500: It Should Be Overbearing
"Since the conversation has reached this point, it seems impossible to continue. I’ll take my leave now." Lincoln Wood said, leisurely taking a sip of his coffee. The taste was rich and sweet, not greasy, and the milk and sugar ratio had been considerately adjusted.
"Please allow me to see Mr. Wood off!" William Griffith finally released his grip and spoke in a formal tone.
Cherish Turner, who had been in a state of astonishment, finally came to her senses and murmured, "Mr. Wood, I’ll walk you out."
Lincoln Wood put down his coffee cup, looked up at the girl who spoke.
She was dressed in a simple, fitted beige blouse and black trousers, with the sleeves neatly folded. Her simple attire made her look very plain and elegant, giving her a delicate appearance. Her fair skin was unusual, and she somewhat resembled someone from his memory; she was quiet and not particularly outstanding, at most refreshing and pleasant.
Such a girl was a dime a dozen on the street, and throwing her into a crowd wouldn’t particularly stand out.
But she was William Griffith’s girlfriend?
Lincoln Wood wasn’t in a hurry to leave, and asked casually, "What’s the last name of the secretary, Miss?"
"Mr. Wood, my last name is Turner," Cherish answered politely.
"And your first name?" Lincoln Wood asked again.
Before she could answer, William Griffith jumped in, "Cherish Turner."
"Cherish Turner." Lincoln Wood repeated the name, then suddenly smiled, "It’s a good name!"
Cherish didn’t know what to say, so she just thanked him.
"Young Master Griffith, my Sophie is not bad either. Maybe after meeting her, you’ll find her even more adorable than Miss Turner." Lincoln Wood looked at William, and said with a smile, "Anyway, I’ve been talking for so long when I said I was leaving. I won’t bother you anymore. Griffith should be giving you a headache recently."
Lincoln Wood stood up, with a height of about 1.7 or 1.8 meters, his physique was well-proportioned and strong, radiating the charm of a middle-aged man.
"I won’t trouble Miss Turner to send me off, just open the door for me," Lincoln Wood looked at Cherish, and walked straight away.
Cherish hurriedly went to the door and pulled the handle open.
"I forgot to say, the coffee Miss Turner made tastes very good," Lincoln Wood praised before leaving.
"Mr. Griffith, I’ll be going to work now." Cherish said immediately after Lincoln Wood left, wanting to leave the office as well. In fact, her mind was a bit confused; his words just now probably only used her as a shield. After all, he and Chloe... She bit her lip to clear her thoughts, not able to help thinking about it again.
"Stop!" A deep male voice suddenly ordered, halting her steps.
"Please tell me what you need, Mr. Griffith," Cherish had no choice but to turn around and face him.
"Come here!" William Griffith commanded again.
Cherish clenched her fist lightly, but still went to his side. He took a cigarette from the pack, put it in his mouth, and lit it with a lighter from his other hand. He took a drag, then said, "Change the coffee to tea from now on."
"I understand!" Cherish didn’t think too much about it; she just thought he might have changed his preferences.
Under William Griffith’s personal visits, Griffith managed to recall more than a hundred employees, but half of the striking employees still hadn’t returned to the company. From their implicit statements, they felt lost about Griffith’s prospects, so they hesitated. Most of them were elites who had studied abroad and had been with Griffith for three to five years. They were hesitating, watching, and not making a decision yet.
