Since Cherish Turner returned from her trip, she hadn’t gone back to the training center for her piano lessons. Lucas Max, who taught Cherish piano, was an old friend of hers. It had been half a month since they last met when Lucas finally contacted Cherish to tell her he was going abroad for further studies and wouldn’t return to the country for a while.

They dined together in a restaurant, and this was Elijah Butler’s first encounter with Lucas Max.

"Why are you here, anyway? You and Cherish broke up long ago!"

As for the previous rumors about another lady, he claimed it was only to protect his fiancée from harassment. Some media reporters believed it was a smokescreen put out by President Griffith, while others thought there must be something fishy about it.

Another month passed, and Miss Grace Harper announced the cancellation of the engagement.

This news caused an immediate sensation.

The media’s attention towards both families dramatically increased, becoming a hot topic for the people in Haicheng to talk about during their leisure time.

Both Yannis Griffith and Grace Harper remained silent and did not provide any further explanations. The heat surrounding this "engagement" drama finally subsided after a month, gradually disappearing from public view.
