Chapter 464: Chapter 465: Returning the Ring

"William, why has your phone been turned off?" Chloe Turner casually picked up a magazine and flipped through it, asking curiously.

William Griffith frowned slightly and mumbled, "It’s broken."

"Your phone is broken? Why don’t you buy a new one? I’ll go with you to buy a new one after dinner?" Chloe was confused about how his phone suddenly broke, but before she could finish speaking, someone knocked on the door of the office.

The person knocking was Thomas Harrison. He walked up to the big desk and said, "President Griffith, you have an EMS."

"Put it down." William Griffith ordered in a deep voice. Thomas left after putting down the parcel. William only looked up after reviewing the last page. His gaze accidentally swept across the mail on the table, and he was shocked by the delivery address – it was from Haicheng to Haicheng.

He suddenly grabbed the mail and opened it up.

"William, this phone looks pretty good..." Chloe pointed to a phone in the magazine and turned to look at him.

But his expression surprised her. Was he feeling lost?

"Chloe, I have something to do tonight. I can’t have dinner with you." William’s indifferent voice made her more curious about what was in the parcel.

In his hand, he held a ring.

William knew very well that it was the ring he had bought for Cherish Turner. She had taken off the ring, but what did this mean?

Chloe didn’t dare say anything more, just mumbled in agreement. She had worked hard to get to her current situation, and she couldn’t mess it up. She couldn’t ruin William’s sympathy, guilt, and pity for her. She also needed to behave.

However, just as William was about to leave, he received a phone call from home.

The call was from his grandmother. As soon he picked up, she began scolding him on the other end.

"William Griffith, come back home right now!"

"Grandma, I have something to do. If there’s anything you need, I’ll talk to you when I get back."

He needed to find Cherish Turner and ask for clarification.

"Your son is sick, and you don’t want to take care of him? I don’t care what you’re up to. Get back home right now, immediately!"

"Is Lewis sick?" William’s heart tightened. His grandmother had never been so anxious before, so he could only promise to drive back to the Griffith Family’s old house right away.

"Is Lewis sick? Is it serious, William? Can I come with you to see him?"

"No need." William replied coldly before leaving without looking back.

Chloe watched his hurried departure, suddenly regretting not being the one to bear his child. At least she could have tied him down, and kept him by her side.

Soon, William’s Maserati arrived at the Griffith Family home.

As he entered, he saw Lewis sitting at the dining table drinking chilled green bean soup, looking completely healthy. William turned green with anger and was about to question him when Lewis jumped down from his chair.

"Dad, where have you been? You didn’t answer your phone, so my teacher had to call Auntie Cherish."

Upon hearing this, William sensed something was amiss.

"What happened?"

"It’s the sports event. You forgot that you were supposed to attend, didn’t you? So I called Auntie Cherish."

Sports event...

William finally remembered that there seemed to be such a thing.

"Did Auntie Cherish come?" he asked tentatively.

Wasn’t she with Daniel Peacock? Yet she still had time to attend the sports event?
