As William Griffith resumed his conversation with Mr.Chip, he glanced fleetingly at a particular corner. It seemed like he saw her, but also seemed to have missed her. No one noticed that his eyes tightened after shifting away. It was a twist that no one could understand.

"Mr.Chip, let me propose a toast to you!"

"Okay, Chief Editor Sally!"

During the feast, toasts were exchanged and of course, praise was given mainly by Chief Editor Sally.

The room was filled with the smell of tobacco. Cherish Turner noticed that he smoked without stopping, drank a lot of wine, but ate very little. Most of his food remained untouched, which suddenly made her feel somewhat sad.

At the invitation of Mr.Chip, Cherish Turner had no choice but to sit at the main table. Her seat was next to Chief Editor Sally, with a gap between her and Mr.Chip. However, from this position, all she had to do was look up to see William Griffith, who was sitting diagonally across from her. His elongated black eyes and dense, long lashes seemed to be hiding some undercurrent in the light.

"Mr.Chip, the entire real estate sector has high expectations for the Bay Resort project this time! Mr.Chip has a good eye for business! As soon as the planning is completed, the place will definitely become a prime location!" Chief Editor Sally’s flattering words reached Cherish Turner’s ears, making her feel somewhat dizzy, perhaps due to the alcohol.

Cherish Turner didn’t know how she got through that night. The group gradually became intoxicated, their faces flushed. She didn’t drink much more alcohol, but her stomach continued to burn as if it were on fire, even making her entire body feel painful.

Mr.Chip invited William Griffith and several others, including Chief Editor Sally, to the nightclub. Cherish Turner simply followed her colleagues out of the hotel.
