Chapter 462: Chapter 463: As Profound as Him

"President Griffith, have you been waiting long?"

"Not too long."

As William Griffith resumed his conversation with Mr.Chip, he glanced fleetingly at a particular corner. It seemed like he saw her, but also seemed to have missed her. No one noticed that his eyes tightened after shifting away. It was a twist that no one could understand.

"Mr.Chip, let me propose a toast to you!"

"Okay, Chief Editor Sally!"

During the feast, toasts were exchanged and of course, praise was given mainly by Chief Editor Sally.

The room was filled with the smell of tobacco. Cherish Turner noticed that he smoked without stopping, drank a lot of wine, but ate very little. Most of his food remained untouched, which suddenly made her feel somewhat sad.

"Miss Turner, come and propose a toast to Mr.Chip!" Chief Editor Sally suddenly shouted.

Cherish Turner was called out, forcing herself to stand up and approach the table. Chief Editor Sally filled a glass for her, and she had no choice but to accept it, smiling and saying, "Mr.Chip, let me propose a toast to you!"

"Okay!" Mr.Chip was delighted, clinking glasses and drinking it down.

It was strong alcohol, so spicy that it felt like it was burning Cherish’s stomach. Tears welled up in her eyes, and his handsome face blurred.

As expected, she was no match for him.

"Miss Turner is a capable and talented young lady, and I didn’t expect her to have such a good alcohol capacity!" Mr.Chip was a forthright businessman who was naturally pleased to see her drink a whole glass of alcohol in one breath, "Miss Turner, come and sit at our table!"

Chief Editor Sally immediately chimed in, "Yes, yes, yes, let’s not leave until we’re drunk. Cherish, you don’t have to be so reserved."

Cherish Turner nodded with a smile and said softly, "Mr.Chip, you flatter me."

At the invitation of Mr.Chip, Cherish Turner had no choice but to sit at the main table. Her seat was next to Chief Editor Sally, with a gap between her and Mr.Chip. However, from this position, all she had to do was look up to see William Griffith, who was sitting diagonally across from her. His elongated black eyes and dense, long lashes seemed to be hiding some undercurrent in the light.

"Mr.Chip, the entire real estate sector has high expectations for the Bay Resort project this time! Mr.Chip has a good eye for business! As soon as the planning is completed, the place will definitely become a prime location!" Chief Editor Sally’s flattering words reached Cherish Turner’s ears, making her feel somewhat dizzy, perhaps due to the alcohol.

Cherish Turner didn’t know how she got through that night. The group gradually became intoxicated, their faces flushed. She didn’t drink much more alcohol, but her stomach continued to burn as if it were on fire, even making her entire body feel painful.

From beginning to end, she had no interaction with him, not even a single glance.

His words were few, almost silent, and it could be said that Chief Editor Sally was keeping the atmosphere alive.

However, that didn’t matter, as everyone seemed to have already understood his temperament, treating it like an unspoken rule.

For Young Master Griffith to attend was already a face-saving gesture.

The dinner party started at six and lasted until after ten, before it finally ended.

Mr.Chip invited William Griffith and several others, including Chief Editor Sally, to the nightclub. Cherish Turner simply followed her colleagues out of the hotel. Cherish was originally planning to go, but she lost the mood to do so. So, she said a few words to Chief Editor Sally, telling her that she wasn’t feeling well and that it wouldn’t be convenient for her. Hearing Cherish say this, the chief editor stealthily looked at William Griffith, who was walking with Mr.Chip, and threw a glance at Cherish, motioning for her to hide behind the crowd.
