Hailey Griffith suddenly hesitated, her gaze flickering, "I stayed at a friend’s place."

"Hailey! Was it that boy Edward Smith?" William Griffith asked in a deep voice. Hailey immediately surrendered, but she couldn’t admit it, "Ah, big brother, I..."

How could it be Edward Smith? She knew very well what her relationship with him was like, but as for who it was, she couldn’t say right now.

Seeing Hailey’s shy expression and the sweet fragrance surrounding her, he realizes something has happened. William sternly said, "I’ve told you before that you’re still a student and haven’t graduated yet. At this age, a girl shouldn’t have a relationship with a man."

Hailey lowered her head and said earnestly, "But I also said that if a girl doesn’t really like someone, she won’t be casual about it."

"Do you really like him?" William asked, seemingly already guessing who that person was.

Hailey’s side profile looked like a charming flower about to bloom as she was completely immersed in love. A woman? William looked at Hailey beside him and suddenly realized she had truly grown up; this girl was no longer a child. Silently, he listened to Hailey’s joyful narration and, in the end, only reminded her, "Make sure to have protection."

Hailey’s face flushed red, and she nodded without uttering a sound.

The two headed to the side hall where they saw Isaac Griffith and May Campbell being scolded by their father, Robert Griffith. Robert barked, "You’re becoming more and more unruly! Daring to stay out all night? Can you even manage your own daughter?"

Isaac and his wife kept their heads down, not daring to talk back. Hailey, on the other hand, felt guilty and said:

"Grandpa, I know I was wrong." Hailey lowered her head and spoke.

William intervened calmly, "We stayed out a bit late last night, so I let Hailey sleep at my place."

"Hailey, have you eaten breakfast yet?" May asked tenderly, her gaze shifting between the two.

"Mom, big brother and I have already eaten." Hailey replied.

"Then come upstairs with me." May got up and went over to Hailey, putting her arm around her as they walked upstairs. As they turned around, Hailey raised an eyebrow at William, indicating she had successfully passed the hurdle.

After May had taken Hailey away, William didn’t linger, "I’m leaving."

"You should start getting serious, too." Robert flipped through the newspaper in his hand as he spoke to William, who was making his way out of the side hall.

Returning to Deep Wave Mansion, William used the key to open the door. As soon as he did, he could already smell the strong aroma in the air. After changing into slippers, he headed to the living room and glanced at the kitchen where Cherish Turner was cooking something. Her petite figure looked incredibly lovely.

Cherish was focusing too hard on her task that she didn’t notice him.

William quietly walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her. The sudden embrace startled Cherish, but she soon relaxed into his chest, "You’re back."

"What are you cooking?" William asked in a deep voice.

"Red bean porridge. I’m just trying it out; I don’t know if it’ll turn out okay." Cherish spoke softly, holding the red bean and lotus seed porridge recipe she had just found on the computer.

"Are you cooking this for me?" William looked down at the note in her hand, gripping her hand stirring the milk tea in the pot.

Cherish nodded, slowly moving her small hand, letting him hold it as he stirred the reddish-brown liquid, and felt his slightly stubbled lips kiss her face.
