Chapter 430 - 430 431 You Must Be Happy
Chapter 430: Chapter 431: You Must Be Happy Chapter 430: Chapter 431: You Must Be Happy “Mom, the person I’ve been waiting for is William Griffith.” Cherish Turner smiled and was led by someone to turn around.
“Where are you going? I didn’t say goodbye.” Cherish said.
“Didn’t you two break up?” Mother Turner came to her senses and blurted out.
William Griffith held Cherish Turner and emphasized once again.
Hearing his deep male voice, Mother Turner’s eyes widened, “You’re back together.”
Mother Turner was stunned, and Cherish wanted to give her a ride, but Mother Turner declined, thinking that if they were together, it was better to give them time to be together, so she quickly left.
Seeing Mother Turner’s attitude, William Griffith felt much more relieved, thinking that this future mother-in-law seemed to be quite satisfied with him.
–
“What would you like to eat?”
“Hmm… I don’t know.”
William Griffith asked in a deep voice as he drove. Cherish naturally answered. But since her answer wasn’t really an answer, they had to look for a place to eat along the way. The car finally stopped at a parking lot, and the two got out and began to search for nearby eateries hand in hand. They went out of the parking lot, crossed a street, and saw a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant in front of them.
Feeling too lazy to continue searching, they settled for that one.
The two chose a quiet sofa seating area. William Griffith took off his thin blazer, and began ordering food.
Cherish took off her backpack, and the book she had just bought slid out. She opened it to the last page and saw red and white flowers painted on the pages, blooming in the dim lake. In the upper left corner was a line of small characters. It was a poem and its source noted in the corner of the page – from Xavier Wood.
Suddenly, someone called her name from above, “Cherish.”
Cherish’s gaze moved from the poem on the page to him. He then stood up, his hands bracing the edge of the table as he gazed down at her. Gradually, he came closer to her, like sunshine, one arm around her, his lips pressed against hers, whispering in a lingering kiss, “You have to be happy.”
It seemed as if she could hear the sound of angel wings flapping, and she silently recited the poem in her heart:
What was seen has gone out, and what has disappeared is remembered.
I stand at the edge of the world.
I hear the soil sprouting, waiting for the flowers to bloom again, leaving the fragrance to the years.
There is no lighthouse on the other shore, yet I still look forward.
Night turns white my hair, gripping my torch in hand.
He comes, I tell myself…
I’m not afraid. I love him very much.
An ordinary Hong Kong-style tea restaurant can be seen everywhere on the streets of Hong Kong. The restaurant is not big and the decoration is simple. Unlike those elegant star-rated restaurants, the lobby does not have a female pianist playing the piano. Instead, there is light-hearted instrumental music, quiet and pleasant. Yet, sitting here gave a different kind of warm feeling.
Perhaps this feeling is called happiness.
Cherish tasted the flavor of happiness, just like the fragrant milk tea she held in her hand.
“Is it good?” she asked William Griffith, who sat across from her in a gentle voice.
William Griffith elegantly picked up the cup and took a sip, coolly answering with a “Hmm.”
Cherish carefully cradled the cup, staring at the brown liquid, secretly pondering the art of making milk tea. He rarely drank milk tea, oh, not just rarely, but almost never. She took another sip and lowered her eyes, carefully remembering the taste.
After they finished eating, William Griffith paid the bill, and the two left the restaurant together.
A long street.
But which way should they go?
“William Griffith?” Cherish threw the question to him, letting him choose.
William Griffith looked at her and said, “Give me a coin.”
