Domineering Love
Chapter 396 - 396 397 Their Past

Chapter 396: Chapter 397: Their Past Chapter 396: Chapter 397: Their Past “Wait!” At this moment, Yannis ran over and stopped Cherish Turner.

“Since you’re here, don’t be in such a hurry to leave. Tomorrow is the weekend, and you don’t have to work. I don’t think you’d want to spoil the fun, would you?” Yannis Griffith said, drawing everyone’s attention to Cherish. Her calm expression seemed unshaken, though her pursed lips betrayed her emotions.

“I just have a bit of a headache. I really didn’t mean to spoil everyone’s fun.”

“Do you really have a headache? If it’s still hurting, let me take you home,” Yannis said, helping her out of an awkward situation.

Feeling grateful, Cherish smiled at Yannis. For some reason, she changed her mind about leaving and couldn’t understand why. She whispered, “My headache isn’t so bad now. I don’t want to spoil the fun, so I’ll go.”

William Griffith silently smoked a cigarette. Hailey Griffith patted his shoulder and reminded him softly, “Big brother, smoking is not allowed here.”

When Emma Hall joined them after changing her clothes, they set off for the party venue. The men went to get their cars, and Hailey naturally chose to ride with Edward Smith. For some reason, Emma quickly chose to go with William.

Only Cherish was left standing still.

Cherish smiled and said, “Yannis, I’ll ride in your car.”

“Please.” Yannis opened the car door for her like a gentleman, while William watched her retreating figure.

The sports cars sped down the road towards the venue.

In the car, William finally spoke up.

“Benjamin is sick. Shouldn’t you go and see him?”

Emma remained silent and didn’t answer.

Nobody had expected them to divorce. They had been so in love and had been eager to marry right after graduation. Yet not long after their marriage, they had an ugly divorce.

When William first learned about Benjamin’s divorce, Benjamin spent every day at the bar, and within a month, he was completely wrecked. At the time, William, Lyndon Layman, and Charles Smith tried to persuade him, but he wouldn’t listen.

In the period after the divorce, Benjamin took up all the vices—drinking, smoking, going to bars and casinos—but he never slept with other women. He didn’t know why he held back; after all, Emma had divorced and abandoned him. Why should he remain chaste for her?

He tried once, finding a woman to sleep with, but when she undressed, he just told her to get lost and threw a bunch of bills at her.

“Does he… not know I’m back?”

“What do you think? Your return has been quite dramatic; how could he not know? We all know. Benjamin is always the first to learn any news about you. Do you think he knows you’re back?”

Emma fell silent again. Their group probably hated her, right?

But if she had to choose again, she wouldn’t regret her decision.

“Earlier, your girlfriend seemed to misunderstand something. I’ll explain things to her when we get there,” Emma said.

“No need. I’ll take care of my own business,” William replied.

The venue Yannis chose for the gathering was not as noisy as a pub, and it had an elegant and tranquil atmosphere. They sat in a private room that had been specially arranged, with drinks, fruits, and special snacks.

As the group sat on the sofa and reminisced about the past, Cherish felt like there was no room for her in their shared memories.
