Chapter 351 - 351 351 Missed Opportunity
Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Missed Opportunity Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Missed Opportunity Suddenly, she really wanted to know what he was doing, what he was thinking. She wanted to peek at his WeChat to find out, wondering how he would feel if he knew everything that had happened to her. He must be heartbroken, right? But now, all she could do was stare at her phone, feeling dejected and missing him…
When Cherish Turner returned to the hotel, she took a shower to freshen up and charged her phone.
Then she searched for William Griffith’s phone number and dialed it, but his phone was turned off. In the end, did they just miss each other?
Cherish tidied herself up and rushed back to the hospital.
It took her nearly three hours to go back and forth, and Anthony Turner was still not awake. He slept deeply, but his face wasn’t as pale as before. Cherish sat in the chair, gently holding his hand. Having not slept all night and being tense before, she felt a bit drowsy now that everything had eased.
Unaware, she leaned over the bed and fell asleep, watching over Anthony.
The Sunday after the rain cleared, the sunshine was lazily out.
Anthony’s fingers suddenly moved, awakening a light sleeper like Cherish with such a subtle touch.
Cherish raised her head groggily to look at him, seeing his eyelids tremble lightly as if trying to open, but he couldn’t due to lack of strength. She was so excited that she stood up immediately. Looking down at his face, she smiled with tears in her eyes and whispered softly, “You’re awake.”
The door of the hospital room was gently opened, and no one noticed.
Daniel Peacock, holding some porridge in his hand, stood at the door. He heard Cherish’s soft voice as if she were making a phone call, “Mom, I’m not going to the United States anymore…”
Anthony had been asleep for two full days before regaining some of his strength. He could only eat liquid foods and was still very weak. The car accident had hit his head so it hurt a lot. Most of the time, he was sleeping, and talking was difficult.
Because of Chloe’s accusations towards herself, Cherish had been feeling very guilty.
She stayed by Anthony’s side, feeding him water and porridge. She enjoyed watching him drink the soup she had personally prepared for him every day. As she saw him gradually regain his health, the smile that had been absent from her face for days reemerged. In a few days, Anthony’s condition had improved significantly – he was awake for longer periods, and he could speak a few short sentences.
Seeing Cherish, Anthony was very happy, constantly calling her name like a child. Though it was like a child, Cherish was still very touched.
She often wondered what life would be like living with them. This father, who clearly loved her, why didn’t he want to live with her?
Daniel Peacock and Chloe also came to the hospital.
Chloe held a thermos, as if she had prepared something. She opened the lid, and the fragrance filled the room. She poured a bowl of hot soup and brought it to Anthony, smiling, “Uncle, the doctor said you can only have liquid foods now, so I prepared some soup for you. Give it a try.”
He had intended to feed Anthony himself, but seeing Cherish standing by, he handed it to her instead. “Cherish, you feed him.” Then, like a child, he watched Cherish.
Cherish took it with both hands and fed Anthony the soup, spoonful by spoonful.
At four in the afternoon, Chloe forced Cherish out of the room. Cherish knew that she didn’t want her to be too close to Anthony – and that she also blamed her.
