Chapter 335 - 335 335 Deceiving the Whole World
Chapter 335: Chapter 335: Deceiving the Whole World Chapter 335: Chapter 335: Deceiving the Whole World When William Griffith left, it started to rain. The day had been bright and sunny, but now, it was raining endlessly, fitting the melancholic atmosphere of spring.
Cherish Turner couldn’t forget the sight of William’s retreating figure in the corridor, still tall and mighty. Yet, somehow, it exuded a faint sadness.
As she turned around, tears welled up in Cherish’s eyes, but she forced herself to hold them back. She felt that she was strong and rational enough now. After all, the Griffith family had ruined the Turner family, and her not accusing him hysterically was the epitome of her self-control.
Her unattainable feelings could only wither in this cage. Now, she had no idea what the best course of action was.
Her heart was empty enough to hold an entire city.
Tanigawa knew that William had left, and knocked on the door. Leaning against the door, Cherish knew who it was.
“I’m a little tired today. Can you let me be alone for a while?”
Outside, Tanigawa stopped knocking but did not leave.
“If you want to cry, just cry. Don’t hold back, no one will laugh at you.”
With the gentlest tone, he said the warmest words, causing a mix of emotions in Cherish’s heart.
Why make her cry? Why not let her pretend to be strong? Wasn’t that enough?
She wanted to deceive the world, pretending that Cherish was fine, not feeling sad at all.
“Whether you cry or laugh, I will be by your side.” Leaning against the door, Tanigawa murmured.
And so, for a long time, they were separated by just a door. Yet Tanigawa was able to comfort her in his own way.
Cherish made a call to her mother in Haisei city.
Mother Turner hadn’t received any news from her daughter for a while and had thought she was away on business in Kyoto City. But what kind of daughter would not contact her mother for such a long time? She and her husband were worried sick, fearing their daughter was too busy and overworked, with no time to call them.
“Cherish, why did it take you so long to call? And why did you change your number?”
Cherish briefly explained the situation, and her mother finally felt relieved.
Hearing her family’s voices gave Cherish strength. It was so nice to be able to hear her mother’s voice like this.
She suddenly imagined, if her own mother were still alive, would she be as concerned about her as well? And also, her biological father at the Turner household, he didn’t seem sober all the time. She was really worried about him.
“When will you be coming back, sweetheart?” Mother Turner wanted her daughter back more than ever. She realized that having her daughter by her side, good or bad, even after an argument, was the best thing.
And Cherish, for the first time, dared to ask a question related to her origin.
“Mom, can I…ask you a question?”
Her cautious tone made her mother, who knew her daughter well, feel somewhat uneasy.
“Cherish, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Wait, is it William Griffith bothering you? I haven’t seen him recently either. How are you two getting along?”
Hearing his name, Cherish’s nose stung again, but she couldn’t let her mother know and worry her.
“No, we…we’re fine.”
Mother Turner let out a sigh of relief. Good was good, that’s all she cared about. As long as her daughter was happy, she didn’t care about anything else.
Cherish hesitated, took a deep breath, and asked, “Mom, do you…know Anthony Turner?”
Just a simple question, yet it left Mother Turner on the other end of the phone speechless!
