Chapter 330 - 330 330 Starting Over
Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Starting Over Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Starting Over Facing Daniel Peacock’s cold words, Cherish Turner’s bewildered expression gradually faded, leaving only calmness.
“Are you done? Then I can go. Goodbye.” She maintained her last ounce of composure, not letting his words provoke her emotions.
Looking at her seemingly peaceful, gentle, and fair face, which was actually extremely stubborn, Daniel took a sharp drag from his cigarette, his eyes narrowed, and his voice deepened, sounding somewhat impatient, “His background isn’t as simple as you think. From what I know, his personal account seems to have serious issues recently, which may not bode well for him. If you follow him, you’ll be in trouble too!”
Cherish Turner slowly stood up, straightening her back, facing Daniel Peacock.
At this moment, her frail figure exuded a powerful aura. She looked at him with a smile, speaking calmly and rationally, “What does it matter without shares? Even if William leaves the Griffith family, he can still have his own world.”
Men like him are destined not to be ordinary. She knew from the beginning.
A hint of admiration and protectiveness seeped through her words, which Daniel noticed clearly. He clenched his fingers, extinguishing the cigarette in the ashtray. Her smile was too peaceful, peaceful to the point of irritating him. Yet, this smile was not blooming because of him.
Feeling an inexplicable bitterness rolling in his heart, Daniel’s eyes tightened.
Cherish Turner awkwardly bade him “goodbye” and turned with a smile, heading for the conference room door.
“How about the relationship between your two families? If he really is your enemy, would you still return to him?” Daniel’s frosty voice came from behind. His gaze seemed like two beams of light, focusing on her, with a distinct warning and mockery, but also a hint of probing. “Besides, he will soon have nothing left, and he will have to start all over again. You should know how difficult that can be in Hai City.”
Cherish Turner’s back stiffened, and her small hand clenched into a fist.
She didn’t look back, seemingly having made up her mind at this moment.
She suddenly understood the meaning behind his words.
When starting over, one needs friends who can support each other, doesn’t one?
The corners of her lips lifted slightly, her smile as bright as the sky after the clouds have cleared, unbelievably sunny.
Daniel Peacock waited silently for her answer, as if he were waiting for a verdict. He gazed at her retreating figure, struggling in this moment. He hoped to hear her resolutely reject the idea, yet there was a tiny part of him that wished for her to agree. He didn’t know what he was thinking; he was so conflicted.
Cherish Turner didn’t say anything more, turning back to look at him. She gave him a radiant smile and suddenly said, “Thank you, Daniel Peacock.”
Daniel was stunned for a moment, his eyes overflowing with surprise.
She actually thanked him… But her tone was too cold, giving him an ominous feeling. What he wanted was not just her thanks.
Cherish Turner shifted her gaze, her hands grasping the doorknob, and opened the door.
A gust of cool wind blew in, and she took confident strides away.
She thanked him for waking her up, which allowed her to finally make a decision. Some things couldn’t be tangled up in revenge; she had to look at the problem objectively. William Griffith had achieved what he has today – If it were only due to his intelligence and wit, and not his character, he would never have gotten this far. So, her subconscious was telling her that she should trust him.
