Chapter 286: Chapter 286: The Beginning of the Stalemate Chapter 286: Chapter 286: The Beginning of the Stalemate Cherish Turner was under house arrest, at least that was how she saw it.

Everyone thought she was in Kyoto City, at least her parents did, but she was actually trapped in the Deep Wave Mansion, unable to leave.

A servant named Mother Goodman was hired by Deep Wave Mansion. She was a woman in her forties, responsible for Cherish’s meals and whereabouts. Since the airport incident, William Griffith had not shown up again.

Two days, a whole two days, and Cherish Turner couldn’t stand it any longer!

The food Mother Goodman brought for Cherish was left untouched. It had already been two days. Except for a small portion she ate the first day, she had refrained from eating anything since. She genuinely feared for her health.

“Miss, you should eat something, otherwise you will fall sick.”

“I want out, or I need to see William Griffith. He has no right to confine me like this!” Cherish wanted to leave the Deep Wave Mansion, but Mother Goodman stopped her, “Miss Turner, please don’t go. Sir will punish me if you do. I need this job to support my family. Please, for the sake of a helpless woman, don’t leave, okay?”

“Alright then, I want to see William Griffith, tell him, I want to see him!” With that said, Cherish dialed William’s number, but as it had been previously, it was Thomas Harrison that picked up.

Thomas answered Cherish’s call carefully, fearing he might say something wrong, “The boss is in a meeting, Miss Turner. If you have anything to say, you can tell me, and I will relay it to him accurately.”

“Tell him, I am waiting for him at the Deep Wave Mansion. If he doesn’t show up, I will stop eating altogether, we’ll see if he shows up then!”

Thomas was on the speaker, so William Griffith who was nearby heard everything, causing him to frown. Why wouldn’t she listen?

William Griffith took the phone and spoke, “Eat what Mother Goodman prepared for you, I will be there soon.”

Finally, Cherish heard his voice. Her heart sank, filled with a complicated mix of feelings. She felt so wronged, she wanted to cry.

What gives him the right to treat her like this, and prevent her from going to Kyoto City? What secrets was he hiding, and could she know what they were?

But then he had told her to take care of herself which warmed her heart, leaving her torn.

She was never able to understand this man, William Griffith, but the events were slowly revealing that he was no ordinary man.

Once William Griffith arrived at the Deep Wave Mansion, Mother Goodman explained Cherish’s situation to him. He frowned. Mother Goodman lowered her head, feeling guilty for not living up to her responsibilities.

The porridge on the table was still warm, heated up by Mother Goodman. Meanwhile, Cherish had locked herself in her room.

“Mother Goodman, you can go. I can take care from here.”

With that, William picked up the bowl and turned the door handle to Cherish’s room.

He sat by her, picked up the bowl and said, “Eat something. You need strength, no matter what you want to discuss.”

“I want to go to Kyoto City, you can’t stop me.”

“I can find a new comic company for you. If you like, I can even set up one for you. Whatever you want to do, I can help.” He did not directly respond to what she said, but instead proposed something else.

“William Griffith, I want to go to Kyoto City. I want to visit the Turner Family!”

“There is no Turner Family in Kyoto City anymore. You have nothing to do with the Turner Family.” He was still emotionless.
