Chapter 282 - 282 282 What Role
Chapter 282: Chapter 282: What Role Chapter 282: Chapter 282: What Role William Griffith brought Cherish Turner into the hospital ward, where the Griffith family was gathered. Mr. and Mrs. Griffith wanted to say something to Cherish, but seeing the expression on William’s face, they held back their words.
The employees of the company had said that, for this woman, William could drop everything, including important meetings. It was obvious how important she was to him. If they tried to separate them without reason, William would never agree to it, so they had to think about it in the long run.
Today, Yannis Griffith was also present. After seeing Cherish Turner, he actually wanted to say something to comfort her. However, Grace Harper was there, along with the elders of the house. If he sided too much with Cherish, she would probably be seen as an irritating thorn in their side.
Grace glanced at Cherish and closed her eyes. She, the victim in this situation, couldn’t blame Cherish outright. Everyone was now siding with her. If she started to fight back, the sympathy she received from the Griffith family would diminish.
William was the first to speak, all his concerns directed at Grace: “How’s your health? If there’s anything you need, just let us know. I’ve made all the necessary arrangements with the hospital; you can rest here during this time. As for the child, don’t worry too much. You and Yannis are still young. I know some experts in this field, so it won’t be a hopeless situation.”
Every word of concern was actually meant for Cherish’s sake. As for Grace, William had too many questions on his mind.
Most importantly, the relationship between his brother Yannis Griffith and her was not as good as the elders believed.
“Sister Grace, I’m sorry… I was too impulsive…”
Grace wiped her tears and said softly, “Cherish, it’s not your fault. I was the one who asked you to meet, and I changed the location. I guess I’m just unlucky.”
“How can you blame yourself? Cherish knew you were pregnant,” the old lady chimed in.
Cherish pursed her lips but said nothing.
However, Grace reached out and held Cherish’s hand. “Grandma, please don’t say that. I won’t blame Cherish for this. It’s my fault.”
Seeing her say this, the old lady had nothing more to say. She felt that Grace was really naive. No matter what, they had to keep her in the Griffith family, as she had suffered so much.
“I want to talk to Cherish alone for a moment, can I?”
The Griffith family members didn’t agree but didn’t voice their objections. What if something happened inside the ward?
“Cherish won’t hurt me. I just want to talk to her.”
William didn’t agree and wanted to stop them, but Cherish shook her head, signalling him not to speak.
The Turner family members left the ward, leaving Cherish and Grace alone.
The atmosphere was eerily quiet, unlike when everyone was there.
Grace looked out the window. Spring had arrived, but the wind outside still seemed cold.
Cherish didn’t know what Grace wanted to say, but facing her, she really felt guilty.
“Have you seen Sister Chloe?” Grace asked without looking at Cherish.
Cherish, who was sitting there, was taken aback!
How did Grace know about Chloe?
“What’s your relationship with her?” At this moment, Cherish felt like she was caught in a massive whirlpool, unable to crawl out. The shocking sequence of events left her wondering what role she was playing in all these relationships.
