Chapter 268 - 268 268 Its What I Deserve
Chapter 268: Chapter 268: It’s What I Deserve Chapter 268: Chapter 268: It’s What I Deserve William Griffith frowned and asked again, “Where are you now? I’ll come to you.”
That question was easier to answer. Cherish Turner wiped her tears and controlled her emotions before replying, “I’m at a hospital on Begonia Road. Grace Harper had an accident, William, please hurry over.”
William Griffith didn’t ask for details about Grace’s accident on the phone, instead choosing to comfort Cherish, “Don’t worry, just wait for me. Don’t be scared, I’ll be there soon.”
William didn’t hang up the phone, allowing it to stay on. At this moment, he believed that Cherish must want him to keep her company with his voice.
William hurriedly exited the break room. Thomas Harrison glanced at him, noticing that his boss was not in a good mood.
A few managers looked at the departing William with confusion and then glanced at Thomas.
Thomas weighed his options before saying, “Let’s end today’s meeting here. That’s it for everyone. I’ll keep you informed if there’s any news.”
“What’s wrong with President Griffith? We need to submit this contract to the other company next week. A lot of the content requires his personal approval!”
Before he could say anything else, Thomas waved his hand, indicating that he should stop talking. Perhaps there was a problem with Miss Turner, which would explain why the boss left so anxiously.
Seeing Thomas’s attitude, the managers obediently shut their mouths.

However, before William Griffith arrived at the hospital, the elders of the Griffith Family appeared first.
The elevator reached Cherish’s floor, and as soon as the doors opened, William took a step out and saw his grandmother slapping Cherish, who just stood there and didn’t even try to evade the blow.
In an instant, Cherish’s left cheek swelled up, and five crimson finger marks showed how heavy of a slap the old lady of the Griffith Family had dealt.
How could William tolerate this? He rushed over and shielded Cherish behind him.
“Grandmother, what are you doing?” If the other party wasn’t his close relative, William would never tolerate anyone treating Cherish like this. Cherish was the woman he wanted to protect for a lifetime; he couldn’t let anyone treat her so poorly.
Even if it were his close relative, he clearly found it disgraceful to hit someone like this for any reason.
“William, you better stay out of this matter. Your grandmother is just angry.” May Campbell rushed over to hold William back, not wanting a conflict between the eldest grandson of the Griffith Family and his grandmother.
Looking at Cherish, May felt a pang of sympathy in her heart. However, she could understand her mother-in-law’s feelings. After all, the old lady couldn’t bear the news of the loss of her great-grandson.
“Grandmother, why are you treating Cherish like this? Is it not humiliating for the whole family to abuse a young girl in this way?”
William gently cupped Cherish’s face, her swollen cheek making his heart ache. It felt more painful than being slapped himself.
But Cherish didn’t dare to accept William’s protection. As she shook her head, she admitted, “William, don’t be so good to me. I deserve this slap from grandma. It’s because of me that Sister Grace lost her baby. It’s my fault, and I have no reason to defend myself.”
Grace’s baby? William was taken aback as he glanced at his grandparents and his parents. He then looked at Cherish, whose eyes were red from crying. He couldn’t help but frown. Still, he pulled Cherish closer to him, determined to protect her.
