He didn’t have any particular destination in mind. He just wanted to give the adults a good scare. So Lewis walked aimlessly on his own. Initially, he didn’t plan on going far, spotting a KFC restaurant open 24 hours around the corner of the hotel. The place was warm and looked pretty inviting. Once inside, just as he expected, it wasn’t crowded. Only one or two people waiting for a cab or those who were working the late-shift could be seen resting here.

When Lewis left, he forgot to bring any money, and he couldn’t help but salivate at the sight of the delicious food on display.

He chose a spot by the window, planning to take a nap there. Maybe tomorrow, he thought, he might see his dad and Auntie Cherish come looking for him. With that in mind, he bore his hunger, restraining himself from drooling over the appetizing food.

Just then, a short-haired boy, probably around sixteen or seventeen, dressed in dark blue school uniform, carrying a backpack, sat down opposite him and ordered a burger. He ate while reading a book.

The smell of the burger wafted directly into Lewis’ nose, causing him to salivate even more due to hunger. Before too long, he couldn’t control himself any longer and stared fixedly at the boy across from him.

The boy had an exceptionally delicate face, just like a girl’s, with clear eyebrows and bright eyes. If it weren’t for his clothes and short hair, he would have been mistaken for a girl.

“Do you want some?” The boy asked in Japanese.

Lewis didn’t understand Japanese, but it was clear to him that the boy was likely asking if he wanted to eat.

Lewis was about to nod his head but then he felt it would be too undignified. So, he turned his gaze away, not responding or making eye contact with the boy.

The boy saw that Lewis was not eating and continued to eat by himself. Finally, Lewis couldn’t resist any longer. He pitifully pointed at the last bite of the burger that was left, looking hopefully at the boy.

The boy smiled, gently pinched Lewis’s cheeks, got up, bought another burger for Lewis, then sat down and continued eating happily.

Lewis felt that receiving such treatment abroad was simply fantastic. However, he never easily owed anyone anything. When the boy was about to leave, Lewis stopped him and asked, “Brother, where do you live? When my dad comes, I’ll have him pay you back.”

But the boy didn’t understand Chinese. It was like talking to a brick wall. In the end, he didn’t understand and then left.

Lewis didn’t give up. He followed the boy for two streets. The boy was completely dumbfounded when he realized that he had picked up a tail.

“Kid, go home. Don’t follow me!”

But no matter what, Lewis wouldn’t let go, because he was lost… What was he to do now? The boy was getting anxious and was thinking about calling the police. However, Lewis was sharp enough to guess his intentions, grabbed his phone, shook his head vigorously, and wouldn’t allow him to make the call.

In the end, the boy had no choice but to bring the child back to his apartment.

The next morning, the boy received a phone call. In his sleepy state, he seemed to hear someone say, “Green, remember to go to the Tanigawa Family for work at eight o’clock. You absolutely can’t be late!”

It was then that the boy named Green woke up in shock. He had forgotten! Last week, Lady Tanigawa wanted to hire a servant for Young Master Tanigawa, and he was one of the few who were shortlisted.

But now with this little guy here, what was he going to do? Should he take him along to work at the Tanigawa Family’s place?
