Divine Beast Creator -
Chapter 944 - 945 Technology
Chapter 944: Chapter 945 Technology
"Not directly throwing an Abyss Beacon at them was already my mercy; only a fool would stop the mechanical crisis right at the beginning."
Feng Yuan casually said as he glanced at Agunas. He wouldn’t go easy on his true enemies. The reason he spared them this time was that the threat they posed to this world was minimal, and they reminded him of events from a previous world. Hence, he didn’t destroy them outright as he had in the Black Tower World.
"Wouldn’t that affect you too? You really didn’t have to, we should be able to handle that world."
Agunas looked towards Feng Yuan and said, in reality, if Estir hadn’t yet recovered to the Divine Beast Level, it wouldn’t likely have been captured by the Hunters. Did they really think Divine Beasts were so easily provoked? But because they had previously suppressed the Sea of Suffering, its strength was exhausted too much. Even if it was a Divine Beast, it couldn’t recover to Divine Beast Level strength in a year or two.
Old Wei nodded and looked at Feng Yuan,
"The invasion from Melansis into our world might not actually be the intent of that other world. Based on the intelligence I’ve gathered so far, those Nohl discovered our world through a random space channel."
"Your intelligence work is quite impressive; you dug all that out?"
Feng Yuan looked at Old Wei with some surprise. He hadn’t expected that the other side could send people to infiltrate the other world for investigation. However, if that was the case, it could be inferred that the information he had gathered was true. If He was going to act, he definitely wouldn’t let Old Wei’s people infiltrate.
For Him, those little bugs were indeed very weak but quite obvious. Just a bit of attention would reveal their presence, and since Old Wei could get information from the other side, it showed they obviously weren’t paying special attention to those invaders.
"Individual action? It’s not impossible."
Feng Yuan said thoughtfully, but what kind of space channel connects two worlds? The world barriers should have always been there. Had those guys messed with something again? But that didn’t seem right either. They shouldn’t be so foolish. Weren’t they afraid he’d flip the table in anger?
"But, how exactly did the space channel connecting two worlds form? Under normal circumstances, shouldn’t it be blocked by the world barriers?"
Agunas still sounded skeptical, and Veronia seemed to think of something,
"Maybe it’s world resonance."
"That is indeed possible."
Feng Yuan said with an unfathomable look towards the Metal Fortress. If a world resonance led to an anomalous space channel appearing, that was not an incomprehensible issue. However, the precondition for a world resonance was a significant similarity in the rules of the two worlds. But wasn’t the other side a technological world? Thinking about it, Feng Yuan laughed self-deprecatingly and stopped pondering over it.
Walking up to the patterned metal walls, Feng Yuan extended his hand, and as the pattern rotated and contracted towards the surroundings, a circular doorway was revealed. Behind the door, there was a silvery metal passageway.
"Strange, why does it seem like there’s no one here?"
Agunas said, puzzled. Feng Yuan glanced in the direction of Lorraine Tower and said,
"They were merely drawn away, but they are indeed straightforward."
"I say you did that on purpose!"
Gitalien said discontentedly to Lorraine Tower. Clearly, its space gate wasn’t opened here. The only thing that could interfere with its space gate was probably Lorraine Tower, modifying the spacetime coordinates it occupies, since spacetime coordinates aren’t fixed values but constantly changing, theoretically allowing Lorraine Tower to control the target locations of all space gate-related ultimate moves.
"Do you think you understand this facility better than him?"
Lorraine Tower stared at the surrounding Hunters calmly, and Gitalien glanced at Lorraine Tower disdainfully,
"Just to rescue Estir, there’s no need to understand this contraption?"
"These guys should all be locked up in the Netherworld’s prison, always causing us trouble."
Gitalien surveyed the group of Hunters disdainfully. Even though those individuals were wrapped inside odd mechanical devices, they still seemed like weak humans to it.
"Don’t be careless; that thing is tricky."
Lorraine Tower warned, feeling that the power armor on those individuals was somewhat abnormal. Gitalien waved a hand, and a deep blue light enveloped the group. However, contrary to Gitalien’s expectation, those individuals were unaffected by the spatial transfer and remained in place.
"Haha! Gitalien! Did you think we wouldn’t anticipate your intrusion? We’ve been ready for you..."
Bang! A huge sound interrupted as Gitalien and Lorraine Tower looked perplexedly at the steel cage that descended from above, cutting off the man’s words. Lorraine Tower squinted at the steel cage, sensing that its solidity was terrifyingly high; even it would struggle to destroy it in an instant.
But why... would that thing trap their own people? The cage didn’t seem like a defensive mechanism, as Lorraine Tower bewilderedly watched the group of Hunters hiding in powered armor.
"Damn it! Which idiot messed this up? Get this thing back! Can’t you take aim before using it?!"
The man, apparently the leader, yelled angrily, and then Feng Yuan’s voice came from the loudspeaker,
"I did aim quite precisely, you know—be careful. Although these things can’t threaten you significantly, they’re still quite a hassle."
"Did that guy... possibly already take control of this fortress?"
Gitalien looked at Lorraine Tower in surprise, who shook his head and said,
"Not sure, but we really need to be cautious; these things can still be quite troublesome for us."
It sensed that the hidden weapons inside the Mechas, while possibly not lethal, could still leave them embarrassed if carelessly handled.
"What now?"
Agunas looked puzzledly at Feng Yuan, not understanding why the latter had suddenly talked to himself. Old Wei seemed to guess something and looked at Feng Yuan, asking,
"Did you just control some of the devices in this facility?"
"Yeah, Lorraine Tower was almost ambushed. I didn’t expect their methods to be not bad, actually having a way to temporarily limit Lorraine Tower’s abilities. Unfortunately, their defenses were too poor."
Feng Yuan spoke somewhat proudly, having not expected that those guys never realized he had infiltrated the control system of this facility. Agunas flicked its tail speechlessly and said,
"Didn’t you say the worlds opposite Starry Heaven were of a lower level? You could easily control various facilities even in Starry Heaven, right?"
"That wouldn’t necessarily be the case. If there were strong enough countermeasures in place, I might not be able to control it like now, at least initially with the Federation Central System. I couldn’t have taken control using conventional methods, only by exploiting methods outside the rules."
"Methods outside the rules?"
Agunas looked puzzledly at Feng Yuan, who smiled and explained,
"Things like divine authority. Low-level technological creations fear changes at the Rule Level the most. But it’s not just technology; it’s everything."
No matter how strong a defense system is, it can’t avoid flaws inherent to itself. Only technology that has gradually escaped the limits of rules can remain unaffected by Rule Level interference. Otherwise, it’s like a door; no matter how strong and good your lock is, if someone removes the door or digs through the wall next to it, what use is the lock?
"You really are..."
Agunas flicked its tail in speechlessness, not expecting Feng Yuan to play it like this. But then again, that guy seldom opted for troublesome methods as long as a simpler alternative could save trouble, he wouldn’t mind exploiting authority.
"We’re here, Estir is right ahead."
Feng Yuan suddenly spoke up. At that moment, the Hunters guarding the door were surprised by their arrival. Old Wei didn’t waste words, waving his hand and the darkness immediately swallowed them.
"I’m really envious. That move is really handy."
Feng Yuan looked enviously at Old Wei, who smiled and said,
"I don’t think you lack similar methods."
"I do, but they cause environmental damage. Forget it, let’s go see how Estir is doing."
Feng Yuan said, then hurried forward, and the door automatically unlocked and retracted into the wall as he approached.
