Chapter 920: Chapter 921 Sudden Change

"But the stuff inside the device is a bit strange, it seems like unstable Netherworld power. If the device is destroyed, I’m afraid it could cause a severe spread of the Power of Death. It’s really sinister."

Just then, Long Boduo seemed to have discovered something and with a look of disgust said, "Can you handle it?"

"Of course, I can just take the energy core away."

Long Boduo said proudly. In fact, if it hadn’t been for Feng Yuan and the others stabilizing the Netherworld before, it wouldn’t have bothered with real-world matters. What did it matter to the Netherworld how they fought?

On the contrary, removing the core was quite troublesome for Long Boduo. If it used its power directly, the consequences would be severe, as it would surely detonate the core and the surrounding area would be eroded by the Power of Death. It only had the option to be extremely careful not to let its power touch the core.

"But you have to help me guard, don’t let them disturb me."

As Long Boduo was about to dive down, it suddenly remembered something and said to Agunas, given its own strength wasn’t particularly strong—if enemies came to disturb it, it might lose control and touch the core.

"Okay."

Agunas nodded in agreement, aware of the situation, but puzzled why the Power of Time couldn’t erase that thing.

"Here they come!"

Feng Yuan, standing on a damaged tower, looked into the distance and whispered. Xiao Ji stood next to Feng Yuan, vigilantly watching the surroundings. Old Wei was observing everything from the shadows. In the quiet Xinmu City, only the sound of the wind could be heard—the enemies in the shadows were very cautious. Although they were confident that Feng Yuan and the others were restrained, they still cautiously investigated before quietly moving into Xinmu City.

"They are quite cautious, but too bad..."

As the enemies at the forefront approached the first trap while the main force was still behind, Feng Yuan’s mouth slightly curled up as he whispered. Black blades stabbed out from the gravel— the enemies at the front agilely dodged these triggered traps and signaled to the ones behind. Before they could decide whether to leave or stay, Old Wei walked out of the shadows, raised his hand, and said,

"Since you’ve come, you might as well stay."

Shadows quickly spread in all directions, surpassing the main force and continuing to spread far into the distance until it completely blended with the night, covering almost all of Xinmu City.

Metal rings emerged from the shadows; rows of metal rings encircled the entire Xinmu City. Feng Yuan, looking slightly surprised at Old Wei, asked,

"What are you planning to do?"

"With this opportunity, naturally, I intend to do something."

Old Wei said softly with a smile, though this smile seemed somewhat sinister to Feng Yuan. The huge metal rings enveloped Xinmu City entirely, lifting it towards the sky.

As Xinmu City gradually ascended, Feng Yuan touched Xiao Ji, soothing it while saying,

"Aren’t you afraid the Fire Vermilion Bird will cause trouble for you?"

Lorraine Tower wouldn’t care about this matter as long as no mass extinction was provoked. It generally wouldn’t interfere with what other beings did in the Divine Land Region unless it was external or intentionally destructive.

On the other hand, the Fire Vermilion Bird and humans were deeply intertwined—if the humans under its protection were harmed, it was easy to provoke them to action.

Old Wei looked at Feng Yuan, smiled faintly, and didn’t answer, but from his demeanor, Feng Yuan understood that he probably wasn’t worried—after all, just dealing with the Fire Vermilion Bird wouldn’t significantly affect Old Wei.

As the ring platform gradually rose into the high sky, suddenly, from various corners of the Divine Land Region, six identical ring platforms rose. Below, those attackers feeling the tremors of the earth and seeing the rotating rings occasionally passing through the sky could easily guess there had been an ambush here long ago.

Feng Yuan was about to enjoy the show when suddenly his expression changed and he looked at Old Wei, asking,

"Do you feel it?"

Nodding, Old Wei replied with a grim expression,

"It seems we’ll have to find another opportunity. Take direct control now!"

Glancing at Old Wei, Feng Yuan said in a low voice,

"Then I’ll start!"

"What exactly happened at the new tower?"

Wu Feng looked at the black column of light with some confusion, that inexplicably conspicuous beacon against the night sky somewhat baffling. Slowly, a reflection of a world appeared in the sky, influenced by the column. In the reflection, there seemed to be a weird altar emanating the black light, which integrated directly with the light from the Tower of Oblivion, sending ring after ring of black light down towards the tower.

Although Wu Feng didn’t know exactly what it was, his instincts told him that it certainly wasn’t anything good. Exchanging a look with the Vermilion Bird, he was about to ride the bird towards it when a Spirit Beast, resembling an Eastern Giant Dragon and enveloped in ghostly blue flames, suddenly appeared and roared loudly.

A black cylindrical semi-transparent barrier rose up around the Tower of Oblivion, enclosing it completely. The creatures that were still inside the tower were transported out through spatial transfer amidst the roar.

At that moment, the black rings, gliding down from the sky through the column, began their descent down the tower’s body towards the earth, then abruptly surged outwards with great force upon nearing the ground, crashing against the black cylindrical barrier and causing a surge of energy. Witnessing the suddenly lifeless black soil beneath the tower’s body, Wu Feng’s expression darkened, and he asked the Vermilion Bird,

"Do you have any idea what that actually is?"

The Vermilion Bird let out a puzzled chirp; it too was seeing this phenomenon for the first time and had no idea what it was. However, it could faintly sense the power within it.

"Netherworld’s power? Power of Death? But why?"

Confounded, Wu Feng, with a hint of reluctance, glanced back at the city behind him and spoke to the Vermilion Bird.

"Can I ask you for a favor?"

The Vermilion Bird looked at him curiously. After a long pause, Wu Feng slowly said,

"If something unexpected happens, could you help me take Xiao Wu away?"

"Me?"

Peering back at Featherwood City, Wu Feng said with a wry smile,

"I can’t abandon them and run away by myself. If possible, I hope you can leave me some power before you go, allowing me to hold on a bit longer."

"Is this... targeted at him?"

Lorna was astonished as she looked at the Starry Sky. The starry sky tonight was so brilliantly dazzling. The wind swept across the Mordic Prairie lifting a trail of grass. Turning back to look at the Ice-blue Bird beside her, even though it had reduced its size, its noble aura was still unmistakable.

"I’m leaving for a bit, and I’m entrusting the safety here to you. Don’t be stubborn anymore."

Hearing Lorna’s words, the Ice-blue Bird chirped discontentedly, seemingly complaining. Nearby, the herd of Ice Snow Giants formed a circle, seemingly resigned to the situation.

"No objections, I don’t want to come back and see a major crisis in Mordan."

Lorna warned the Ice-blue Bird, stepping out and seemingly disappearing from this space altogether; or more precisely, her next step landed her directly in the Divine Land Region.

"This time, I can definitely fight alongside you."

Lorna murmured as she headed towards the Tower of Oblivion.

"Damn it! What exactly are you trying to do!"

Sensing the unusual disturbance, Delong Tower glared furiously at the mechanical giant returning to its original form and roared, the currents around it suddenly growing wild as if wanting to destroy everything around.

A brilliant azure light flashed through the ocean in the sky, causing the normally calm sea of sky to roar furiously. Qi Chen, somewhat puzzled, murmured to himself,

"What on earth is happening? Why does it seem so enraged?"

Just then, Qi Chen’s phone rang. Picking it up, he was surprised to hear Dou Yanlan deliver some shocking news, and he found it hard to believe.

"They wouldn’t be so bold, would they?"

"Apart from Great Xia, other countries are also showing the same level of abnormal energy responses. Additionally, Featherwood City is experiencing even more intense energy responses, having surpassed detection limits."

Listening to the monitoring report, Meng Binglan looked to Captain Yang and asked,

"Should we inquire about this?"

"I’m not sure if this is related to their actions targeting Maomu City. If it is, they are indeed being overly bold."

Captain Yang said, glancing at the map in front of him,

"Such a wide range, it will undoubtedly lead to a war that affects the entire Divine Land Region."
