Chapter 1324: Chapter 1325: 3 vs 3 Battle

"Three-on-three? Alright, Xiao Ji will take the lead attacker role then."

Glancing at Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan, Feng Yuan spoke. Qi Chen looked at Ah Mu and said,

"Then Ah Mu will handle support, but..."

When it came to Xiao Ji, he wasn’t entirely sure if Ah Mu could properly support it. After all, even when Feng Yuan partnered with Xiao Ji, he always had to go all out to adapt to Xiao Ji. Ah Mu didn’t have the combat experience Feng Yuan had. Patting Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan grinned and said,

"No problem, just do your best. Giving it a bit of a lesson wouldn’t hurt."

Regarding Xiao Ji’s disregard for teamwork, Feng Yuan wasn’t certain if it was a good or bad thing. After all, even if he warned Xiao Ji, it would still do as it pleased. Holding Cotton in her arms, Dou Yanlan said,

"Then Cotton will handle the support role, though..."

"Don’t worry about it, a few hits will bring it to its senses."

Ruffling Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan sighed helplessly. No matter how much he tried to persuade it, Xiao Ji wouldn’t change. Perhaps it was better to let it realize its own mistakes during battle. However, Feng Yuan doubted whether this method would really be effective. After all, Xiao Ji was a Divine Beast; merely such simple forces... seemed...

"Remember not to randomly use Crimson Judgement later. This is a duel, not a life-or-death battle."

As something occurred to him, Feng Yuan warned Xiao Ji again. He was genuinely concerned that Xiao Ji might recklessly unleash Crimson Judgement in the fight. That would be disastrous. Even though the Beastmasters here were skilled, to withstand a Divine Beast Technique head-on? Even for a low-tier Divine Beast like Xiao Ji, that would be a tall order.

Hearing this, Xiao Ji glanced at Feng Yuan and gave a small nod. It flared its wings as if to indicate its understanding. Feng Yuan rubbed his temples, deciding to keep a close eye and intervene if necessary to forcibly stop Xiao Ji’s Ultimate Move.

As both teams finished their preparations, the referee appointed by the park blew the whistle, officially signaling the start of the match. Three-on-threes were different from regular duels; due to the chaotic nature of such battles, they typically required a park-appointed referee to oversee them.

These referees were usually Legendary-level Beastmasters, serving as instructors for nearby academies. Their presence here was dual-purposed: refereeing matches and scouting potential talent for their institutes. Even if some individuals had already enrolled elsewhere, poaching students wasn’t entirely off the table.

As Xiao Ji ascended into the sky, Feng Yuan shook his head. The three small shields at his side fused into a Black Longbow. Leaping onto the crown of the Amu Tree, Feng Yuan remarked,

"Leave it. It’ll figure things out soon enough."

Dark arrows shot toward the approaching Flame Wolfhound. It was at this moment everyone noticed just how popular the Flame Wolfhound species was. Almost any random selection of Beastmasters featured at least one in their lineup, which wasn’t surprising.

Flame Wolfhounds were common here because the park attracted skilled Beastmasters. The species had a stable growth curve, was relatively easy to train, and was often chosen by those lucky enough to obtain one. Their generally steady temperament made them a choice even among Spirit Beast Tamers. Of course, there were occasional exceptions, like Yang Hongzhi’s playful and lazy Xiao Hei.

However, this particular Flame Wolfhound was clearly not the slacker Xiao Hei. It darted skillfully, evading Feng Yuan’s arrows. Ah Mu slammed the ground, summoning the Seistal Stele entwined with vines, while Cotton leapt from the treetop, her tail swishing as a mist gradually blanketed the battlefield.

In the sky, Xiao Ji let out a disgruntled cry upon losing sight of its target, circling restlessly. Just then, a streak of green light pierced through the mist. Spotting the glow, Xiao Ji’s eyes lit up as ghostly blue flames ignited on its body. It dove toward the light’s source.

A towering rock wall silently materialized beside the Flame Wolfhound. Xiao Ji collided head-on with the wall, shattering it, but the Flame Wolfhound paid no heed and continued closing in on Ah Mu’s position. A massive grayish-brown bubble emerged to block Xiao Ji’s path.

Already drained from the earlier collision, Xiao Ji barely managed to pop the bubble, triggering an explosion, which caused it to lose all its momentum. A verdant Barrier enveloped Xiao Ji, shielding it from the bubble’s explosive aftermath.

Unfortunately, Xiao Ji chose to ascend into the sky again, climbing to higher altitudes, which caused the verdant Barrier to dissipate since it was too far from Ah Mu.

"What a fool."

Letting out a sigh, Feng Yuan sighed helplessly and aimed his longbow skyward. Releasing the arrow, a silent Black Arrow Rain descended amidst the mist. However, Cotton’s mist appeared to have no real effect on either side—neither their team nor the opponents seemed hindered by it.

Letting out a quick meow, Cotton vented its frustration, slapping a paw on the ground. Strange, whispering voices began to echo in the opponents’ ears. One of the opposing Beastmasters waved their hand, causing a golden glow to radiate outward, dispelling the sinister murmurs immediately. Spotting the golden light, Xiao Ji’s eyes glimmered as it dove once again.

But the opponents were already prepared for Xiao Ji’s predictable attack patterns, moving out of position well in advance. One of the Beastmasters, seemingly catching on, directed their Beast to release golden light at another location.

This time, Xiao Ji didn’t dive right away but instead charged up energy mid-air. After a moment, its body burst into bright, blazing flames as it made another dive. However, this time, it plunged straight into a trap. A swarm of bubbles engulfed it instantly. While Ah Mu quickly deployed defensive techniques, Xiao Ji’s indiscriminate dive attacks ended up rupturing several of the barriers from within.

The overwhelming barrage of new bubbles dealt significant damage to Xiao Ji. Infuriated, Xiao Ji released Death Flame Storm to break free from the constraints. Yet, in doing so, it also destroyed the Seistal Stele that Ah Mu was repositioning.

With the Stele gone, there was nothing suppressing the sticky bubbles, which quickly ensnared Xiao Ji. The Flame Wolfhound seized the opportunity to launch an assault. Though the specifics of Xiao Ji’s Attributes were unclear, its ghostly blue flames had long given away its Death Series Attribute.

The Flame Wolfhound unleashed exclusively life-energy-infused or death-dispelling techniques. These wouldn’t have much effect on other Attributes but were devastatingly potent against Death-type Spirit Beasts like Xiao Ji.

Before Cotton could act, the Ghost Shadow Doll emerged in front of her. Eerie shadows surrounded Cotton, who unleashed technique after technique to dispel them, yet she struggled to break free in time to assist Xiao Ji.

"Hmph, trying to sneak attack?"

Snorting coldly, the Black Longbow in Feng Yuan’s hand reverted into small shields. In the next instant, the nine shields fused into a Greatsword. Jumping down, Feng Yuan said,

"Ah Mu, protect them."

Ah Mu pounded the ground, resummoning the Seistal Stele. Green motes of light floated around the area as Feng Yuan charged into the mist with the Greatsword in hand.

"Will he be alright?"

Qi Chen asked with some concern, glancing in Feng Yuan’s direction. His intuition told him there were two individuals there. As for the other one? A Longbow’s Arrow Rain forced an opposing boy sneaking toward Ah Mu’s rear to retreat.

A black tornado mixed with mist swirled, barreling toward Ah Mu and the group, while muddy hands emerged from the ground to liberate two entangled Beastmasters.

Once free, the opponents promptly retreated. Initially, they thought the trio’s coordination was poor because of Xiao Ji’s erratic behavior. But it turned out that only the black Eagle Spiritual Beast was unconventional.

At this point, Xiao Ji looked worse for wear. Being targeted by three Spirit Beasts simultaneously wasn’t easy to counter. Despite Xiao Ji’s superior strength, it was hard to overcome well-coordinated foes with ample battle experience.

Flapping its wings, Xiao Ji screeched, attempting to use Crimson Judgement. However, Agunas stepped in, forcibly sealing Xiao Ji’s Ultimate Move.

Swishing its tail, Agunas glanced at Xiao Ji with exasperation. Feng Yuan had been right—it completely ignored what it had agreed on earlier.

Shrieking angrily, Xiao Ji kept trying to break through. But every time it attempted a Divine Beast Technique, Agunas would promptly seal it again. Eventually, Agunas pulled out a Golden Tome Page. It wasn’t easy to repeatedly seal Divine Beast Techniques, especially against Xiao Ji, even if its power was on the lower side for a Divine Beast.

After a while, Xiao Ji ran out of stamina and collapsed. Only then did the opposing trio launch an offensive against Feng Yuan’s group. Unfortunately for them, even the teamwork of just Ah Mu and Cotton was formidable. Coupled with Feng Yuan’s seasoned combat skills, things took a sharp turn.

After Xiao Ji fell, Feng Yuan reverted to using his own unparalleled strength. If it weren’t for Feng Yuan intentionally holding back, he could’ve ended the match early, taking all their opponents down in an instant.
