Chapter 1282: Chapter 1283: The Beginning Flower Field
"Heh heh~ I just thought of something interesting and wanted to give it a try, don’t worry, I won’t damage the flower field~"
Feng Yuan spoke with a smug smile. Agunas furrowed its brow slightly and glanced at Feng Yuan with uncertainty, unsure whether he was joking or if he was serious—if he wasn’t joking, then what secret did the flower field hold?
It pondered for a while but came to no conclusions, only managing to look at Feng Yuan with a face full of suspicion.
"You really won’t damage the flower field?"
The elderly man carefully scrutinized Feng Yuan, his expression filled with vigilance. Though he greatly appreciated Feng Yuan’s previous deeds, he would never allow him to approach the flower field if he posed a threat to it.
Feng Yuan shrugged helplessly and said,
"Don’t you guys find the empty space in the flower field suspicious?"
"Empty space in the flower field?"
Qi Chen looked baffled as he turned to Feng Yuan. Was there really an empty space there? The elderly man, recalling something, shook his head and said,
"That’s just an issue with the land itself; flowers cannot grow there. It wasn’t intentionally cleared to create an open space for gatherings."
"Wait! That empty space is naturally occurring?"
Dou Yanlan asked in astonishment. The elderly man made an effort to recall before nodding and responding,
"Indeed, that’s the case. At least according to our records, it’s a site for rituals, and flowers naturally cannot grow there. If you go over now, you can still see the ancient stone carvings left behind."
"That’s exactly why we set the gathering locale there."
"You’ve never tried planting flowers there?"
Dou Yanlan asked curiously. Shaking his head, the elderly man replied,
"We’ve tried, but it’s futile. Even transplanting flowers there, with the care of plant-type Spirit Beasts, yields no results. Within a day, they would completely wither and die."
"It’s as if the land itself repels them."
Recollecting the sight, the elderly man elaborated. Truth be told, from above, the area looked as though a circle had been inexplicably carved out amidst the flower field, giving it an unsightly appearance. As such, they once attempted to patch up the gap. But just as the records described, that land simply cannot sustain any flora.
"If there’s nothing odd about such a place, that would be stranger still. Well? Curious?"
Grinning smugly, Feng Yuan glanced at Agunas and the others. Belusir swished its tail and said,
"I see. So, the Origin Flower was always that? Well, of course, it makes sense. This was always..."
"Hey! You over there flipping through answers, don’t spoil it!"
Feng Yuan protested in dissatisfaction after hearing Belusir’s words. Glancing at Feng Yuan, Belusir lightly wagged its tail and replied,
"You discovered it too, didn’t you?"
"Heh heh~ Spoiling the mystery too quickly makes it boring~"
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan said sheepishly. As soon as Belusir spoke, he knew it had glimpsed Fate again. Although it couldn’t see Feng Yuan’s own destiny, the actions of the elderly man, Qi Chen, and the others inevitably impacted their fates, which had already shifted. It wasn’t surprising that Belusir saw the truth through them.
"Will the flower field be damaged?"
Agunas cast a sidelong glance at Feng Yuan and asked Belusir. Although it too could glimpse the future, endless possibilities made it a tedious task. Besides, it wasn’t in any rush to uncover the truth—determining Feng Yuan wouldn’t cause harm was sufficient.
"No, or rather, he intends to reactivate this very Origin Flower Field, though it’s truly..."
Belusir abruptly stopped mid-sentence, not only in accordance with Feng Yuan’s wishes but also because it saw no point in revealing things prematurely. Soon, everyone would witness it, and revealing it now might lessen the impact of the eventual spectacle.
"So, all of that stuff needs to be moved? Are you planning... to plant flowers here?"
Dou Yanlan asked after glancing at Feng Yuan, her expression peculiar. While she had no idea what he intended to do, based on previous accounts, it likely had something to do with flowers. Of course, it could just as easily involve some hidden altar or something similar. Nevertheless, clearing the entire gathering site was unquestionably odd.
The tourists were deeply puzzled by the unfolding events. Although the Wind Festival had concluded, numerous vendor stalls remained open to sell food. Yet the elderly man, after consulting with others, prematurely wrapped up the festival’s closing ceremonies. Many tourists congregated on the outskirts to observe the spectacle.
The residents of Quersan Town set aside their tasks and rushed over. Though they no longer cherished the Origin Flower Field as they once did, they still wouldn’t readily allow it to be ruined. Besides, what could prompt them to prematurely end the Wind Festival?
As the crowd began removing items pressed against the grass, revealing the barren expanse of lawn, Feng Yuan retrieved a pitch-black Ancient Book and said,
"Let’s hope this works. If I can summon it, we’ll be good to go."
"What are you trying to do..."
Agunas asked incredulously, glancing at Feng Yuan. What was this guy planning with that artifact? Its destructive power wasn’t trivial. Opening the pitch-black Ancient Book, Feng Yuan responded,
"Actually, even recordings can project an ultimate move. Though it won’t have the full power of the original, it should be sufficient."
As his words fell, a massive light-formed flower bloomed from the soil beneath Feng Yuan’s feet. Petals stretched outward, while countless glowing particles drifted toward every corner. Moss-covered ancient stone pillars began to radiate faint light. Witnessing this, the residents of Quersan were awestruck. The breeze blew from distant, unknown places, carrying a distinct floral fragrance that both differed from and bore harmony with the flower field.
Bud after bud emerged from the grass. Seeing these buds, Dou Yanlan exclaimed in astonishment,
"Nahis’s Flowers?!"
"It makes sense now. The Origin Flower Field was Kannen’s creation."
Agunas thoughtfully flicked its tail as Belusir, already aware of this outcome, silently watched the blooming Nahis’s Flowers. The ancient stone pillars of the ruins emitted vibrant, multicolored beams of light that shot into the sky. On the ground, the Nahis’s Flowers bloomed in a specific formation, their scent overwhelming the original fragrance of the flower field.
As the Nahis’s Flowers blanketed the expansive lawn, Feng Yuan turned to the elderly man and said,
"Have everyone else leave; those wishing to go to Kalta should stay—time to set off~"
With Feng Yuan’s declaration, a massive petal rose from the grass amidst the field. As the first petal appeared, residents of Quersan hastily fled the area. After all, the town’s legendary tales featured stories of Wind Riders. Coupled with Feng Yuan’s earlier shout, they understood this was likely a journey to Kalta. While travel between the two locations was convenient now, there was little reason to make the journey lightly.
The enormous Nahis’s Flower gradually came into full view. Tourists on the sidelines were struck speechless by the breathtaking sight, some pulling nearby residents close to ask about its significance. The breeze stirred up sparkling Nahis’s Flower pollen, scattering it across the Origin Flower Field and beyond. Wildflowers sprouted along the wind’s path, forming seas of blossoms wherever the breeze passed.
"So this is the true Origin Flower Field."
Among the crowd, someone murmured in awe. While the field had always held abundant flowers, many had questioned its name’s origin. Only now did the truth reveal itself.
"The Origin Flower Field of Quersan alone cannot blanket all of Dantia. Those Fields mark the very places where Kannen once set foot. Here, it blessed Dantia with flourishing flower seas, soothing fears brought by Ernis’s ceaseless unrest."
"This is the true Origin Flower Field."
Admiring the landscape enveloped by flower seas, Feng Yuan spoke with satisfaction. Veronia twirled her parasol and remarked,
"What a jealousy-inducing ability."
Kannen’s Authority over Flowers was a rare world authority, unrestricted by region. Yet even so, Kannen wasn’t a regional Guardian Divine Beast. It was a God skilled in healing and support. Its combat ability, though respectable, paled in comparison to beings like Lorraine Tower.
"You couldn’t be planning to activate all the Origin Flower Fields, could you?"
Suddenly realizing something, Qi Chen turned and asked Feng Yuan. Rolling his eyes, Feng Yuan retorted irritably,
"Of course not. What would be the point? Why would I bother? Oh, and by the way, this giant Nahis’s Flower will follow the route it took back then to spread flower seas—it won’t stop at Kalta, so we’ll have to jump off ourselves."
Recalling something, Feng Yuan explained. After all, this artifact wasn’t meant as a transportation tool; he was merely using Nahis’s Flower’s migration path as a makeshift ride.
Exasperated, Qi Chen cast a glance at Feng Yuan but said no more. Among those present, aside from Dou Yanlan and himself, most were undaunted by the prospect of jumping from the sky—they could undoubtedly rely on their Spirit Beasts for protection. And with Agunas and the others present, Qi Chen felt entirely untroubled.
