Chapter 310: Chapter 310 Soft~

On the way here, Huo Shaoyan had already learned the full details of what had transpired.

After An Baoying stabbed An Ge with a knife, she fell unconscious due to a miscarriage and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

As for An Muxin, although she was initially detained by the police, An Jifeng quickly arrived at the station and used his connections to bail her out.

In essence, the real culprit behind everything remains unscathed.

Because of this, An Ge wanted to know Huo Shaoyan’s stance on An Muxin.

Huo Shaoyan also understood that if he didn’t give An Ge a proper explanation for this incident, it wouldn’t be resolved.

So, he quickly made his stance clear to An Ge: "I’ll make sure that An Muxin faces the corresponding legal consequences..."

An Ge sneered:

"President Huo, I think you’d better stop making hollow promises. An Jifeng used his connections to bail An Muxin out right here, on your turf. If you aim to convict her, it won’t be that easy. Besides, An Muxin’s blood is the medicine Huai Shang depends on to survive. If you really think you can put her in prison, that’s laughable."

An Ge’s words hit the nail on the head.

Huo Shaoyan was immediately left speechless.

An Ge’s words continued:

"President Huo, the purpose of my collaboration with Mrs. Huo was to expose An Baoying and An Muxin for who they truly are. An Baoying doesn’t have much background; she’ll never be able to rise again. But An Muxin is different.

The last administration of this empire had leadership stemming from the An Family. An Muxin has such powerful backing; honestly, I never even intended to send her to prison because of this incident.

I just want to teach her a lesson and make her provide serum for my son without charge. Beyond that, I don’t have any higher expectations—for now."

Huo Shaoyan hadn’t anticipated An Ge seeing things so clearly.

In that moment, he had nothing to say in response.

When An Ge saw he had no intention of leaving, her brows furrowed and she said, "President Huo, don’t tell me you’re planning on staying the night with me?"

Not wanting to humiliate himself, Huo Shaoyan left.

After leaving, Huo Shaoyan instructed his subordinates to investigate where An Muxin and An Jifeng were currently staying.

In half an hour, Huo Shaoyan arrived at Baiyun Hotel with his people.

At this moment, An Muxin was crying in the presidential suite to An Jifeng:

"Big Brother, I really never intended to harm Mrs. Huo. I was tricked by that wretched An Baoying. That vile woman told me

she had a way to make An Ge suffer and convinced me to cooperate with her. She said this would help me successfully take the place of Mrs. Huo, and I... I was bewitched for a moment and agreed to assist her..."

An Muxin’s voice grew more choked as she continued:

"But how could I have known that the Leisure Pill she asked me to buy could actually kill someone? I..."

An Jifeng was extremely annoyed by this incident.

He had no interest in hearing An Muxin continue her arguments, and his voice turned cold: "That’s enough!"

An Muxin knew her big brother was truly angry, and she immediately shut her mouth in fear.

But her tear-stained peach blossom eyes still looked at An Jifeng, glistening and filled with grievance.

In this generation of the An Family, An Muxin was the only delicate daughter, and she had always been doted on by everyone in the family. So, she had been spoiled into lawlessness.

But for her to go so far as to conspire with An Baoying in an attempt to murder Mrs. Huo—this act was utterly unforgivable.

An Jifeng felt that if this kind of behavior wasn’t curbed, it would only bring catastrophic trouble to the An Family, potentially jeopardizing the family’s entire future.

Thinking of this, he forcibly suppressed the small amount of sympathy he had.

With his naturally stern appearance, dressed in an old-fashioned Zhongshan suit, he exuded an air of rigor and solemnity from head to toe.

His expressionless face made him look even sharper and more intense.

An Muxin’s sobbing quietened even further.

An Jifeng sat down on the sofa opposite her and said sternly: "You’ve caused such a major incident this time. What are your plans?"

An Muxin had no sense of repentance; she placed all the blame on An Baoying.

She utterly refused to admit her own guilt.

Choking back sobs, she said:

"This matter—I... I’m also a victim. I only intended to teach that vile An Ge a lesson. How could I have known that An Baoying would be so sinister and drag me into such trouble..."

An Jifeng rubbed his furrowed brow in frustration, and sternly rebuked her: "One insult after another—is your sense of decency completely eaten by dogs?"

An Muxin couldn’t believe it. Her typically affectionate big brother was now reprimanding her to defend An Ge.

Tears flowed uncontrollably down her face as her voice grew more choked:

"Big Brother, I am your biological sister. Yet you scold me for an outsider? That An Ge—she’s been to prison, had countless men under her skirt. She’s nothing but a filthy temptress. Was I wrong to say that?"

An Jifeng slammed the tea table in front of him with anger and said in a cold, measured voice:

"Even if she’s not perfect, she is now Huo Shaoyan’s lawfully wedded wife. Furthermore, she gave birth to a pair of twins for Huo Shaoyan, making her status profoundly exceptional. You call her names as if you’re asking for trouble from Huo Shaoyan himself, aren’t you?"

These words filled An Muxin with both hatred and envy.

Her original intent had been to utterly destroy An Ge’s reputation and have her land in prison. Instead, An Ge had turned misfortune into a blessing and become the legitimate Mrs. Huo.

Now, everyone in the circle knew An Ge was the Huo Family’s great benefactor, having given birth to twins for Huo Shaoyan.

Meanwhile, An Muxin carried the disgrace of being an unmarried mother and a homewrecker—she didn’t have the courage to even step outside her own front door. Worse yet, she was embroiled in a lawsuit for allegedly attempting to murder Mrs. Huo.

How could An Muxin not be enraged? How could she not resent her plight?

Grinding her teeth in fury, she, accustomed to arrogance, lost all control of her temper.

She wailed louder and her voice grew sharper:

"So what? I’m still carrying Huo Shaoyan’s son! You mean to say that just because I made a small mistake, you’ll align yourself with that vile An Ge instead of me? I’m your biological sister—are you trying to force me too?"

Almost immediately after her words fell, An Jifeng slapped her across the face.

The sound of the slap rang loud and clear, and An Muxin fell silent from the sheer pain.

Her lip was nearly split from the impact, her face swelling dramatically.

An Muxin was struck dumb with disbelief that her own big brother had hit her. Her pupils shrank in shock.

Her breathing turned heavier, and she sobbed even more uncontrollably.

An Jifeng showed no trace of tenderness this time. Coldly, he said to An Muxin:

"Do you realize that the Imperial City’s An Family might look glorious but is actually the target of countless attacks? Father holds a high position, and now we’re on the cusp of a crucial presidential election. You’re causing these troubles during such a critical moment.

Are you trying to make the An Family and the Huo Family completely sever ties? The An Family’s success and prestige didn’t merely rely on our deep-rooted connections—it depended immensely on the Huo Family’s financial support.

Specifically, the Huo Family’s unmatched contributions to military manufacturing have been crucial in maintaining the An Family’s status in the Imperial City. And yet, here you are, this brainless fool, jealous to the point of plotting to murder Mrs. Huo. Are you insane?"

An Muxin finally grasped the severity of her actions.

She asked, "Then... what should I do now?"

An Jifeng lit a cigarette, smoking it in a visibly agitated manner.

An Muxin saw his continued silence and grew increasingly unsure.

With a tearful tone of urgency, she asked:

"Big Brother, say something! What should we do now? I swear it wasn’t intentional—I was tricked by that wretched An Baoying. My original intent was simply to teach An Ge a small lesson. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen... You understand, don’t you? I’m carrying Huo Shaoyan’s child. All I want is for my child to be a legitimate heir to the Huo Family, not a bastard. Is that so wrong?"

One cigarette later, An Jifeng stubbed it out in the ashtray and said:

"This matter can only be properly resolved if An Ge forgives you. She is the key to all this."

An Muxin’s pupils contracted sharply again.

Raising her voice, she said, "What do you mean? Are you saying I have to apologize to An Ge?"

An Jifeng replied coldly:

"An apology alone won’t suffice. This matter isn’t that simple. That woman—I’ve never interacted with her much—but from a single glance, I can tell she’s no pushover."

An Muxin bit her lip, silent for a few seconds before saying:

"As long as I don’t end up in court or prison, I guess I’ll apologize to her."

Seeing her finally show a shred of cooperation, An Jifeng’s expression softened slightly.

He said to An Muxin, "An apology alone likely won’t work."

An Muxin raised her voice again: "Then what do you want me to do? Fall to my knees and bang my head on the ground to beg her for forgiveness?"

An Jifeng analytically replied:

"An Ge’s weakness is her two children. Right now, her daughter is ill, and so is her son. Fortunately, your blood can save her son’s life. If you can use this to strike a deal with An Ge—offering your blood without charge to save her son—this matter might be settled peacefully."

An Muxin pursed her lips and said, "I’ll think about it."

Just as the siblings were talking, the bodyguards stationed outside the room pushed the door open and walked in briskly.

An Jifeng frowned and asked, "What’s going on?"

The bodyguard said, "Young Master, President Huo is here with his people."

These words made An Muxin tremble violently.

An Jifeng, however, remained composed.

He said to An Muxin, "He’s probably here to settle scores with you. Hide in the small room, and I’ll handle it."

An Muxin gave An Jifeng a grateful look and quickly hid.

A couple of minutes later, An Jifeng looked at Huo Shaoyan, who had arrived with his group and was now standing in the presidential suite. Without any small talk, he said directly:

"President Huo, name your terms. What will it take for you to let this matter slide?"

Huo Shaoyan stared at An Jifeng expressionlessly and said concisely: "Tell An Muxin to come out and face me."

Huo Shaoyan was clearly still furious, and An Jifeng knew he couldn’t let Huo Shaoyan confront his sister.

So, An Jifeng said:

"Muxin was indeed wrong, but I have already given her a stern lecture. She has promised me that tomorrow she will personally apologize to Ms. An Ge and Mrs. Huo..."

Huo Shaoyan pulled out a black revolver, loading the bullets.

An Jifeng’s face finally changed.
