Disheartened, I Fled from the CEO with Our Babies
Chapter 209: Missing Her, Madly in Thought

Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Missing Her, Madly in Thought

Huo Huaisang recognized her voice.

He sat up and turned on the floor lamp.

The light illuminated the woman’s face.

She was beautiful.

And gentle.

Huo Huaisang stared at her in bewilderment, "Are you... my father’s former wife?"

An Ge nodded and asked, "Can I sit down and talk to you for a while?"

Huo Huaisang replied,

"I don’t know what happened between you and my mother, but tonight my mother was scolded by my grandmother because of you. So, I do have some resentment towards you."

An Ge felt a pang of sadness in her heart.

She thought for a moment and said, "Sorry..."

"You don’t need to apologize to me, my mother brought it upon herself."

Huo Huaisang said, then asked, "Are you going to remarry my father?"

"No."

Huo Huaisang didn’t believe it,

"Uncle Xiao said that when a woman appears in another man’s house late at night, it means her relationship with that man is not simple. So, I don’t believe you and my father have a clean relationship right now."

An Ge thought Huo Huaisang was as shrewd as Huo Shaoyan, precocious.

An Ge pondered and said, "I want to tell you a secret."

Huo Huaisang frowned, "What?"

An Ge said, "Actually, tonight is not your birthday. It was three days ago."

Huo Huaisang was stunned.

Under his astonished gaze, An Ge sat down by his bed and said,

"Still, I want to wish you a happy birthday and give you a birthday present."

After she was done, she took out her phone, opened an email containing the paternity test report of her and Huo Huaisang, and handed it to him, saying,

"Can you read? If you understand, nod your head."

Three minutes later, Huo Huaisang looked at An Ge in disbelief.

His eyes were red, tears welled up but didn’t spill due to restraint.

At this moment, Huo Shaoyan knocked on the door, "Are you done?"

An Ge made a shushing gesture towards Huo Huaisang and whispered,

"This is our secret. Don’t tell your father. I’ll explain everything to you when the opportunity arises, okay?"

Huo Huaisang never dreamed that the woman in front of him would turn out to be his biological mother.

Every time An Baoying mistreated him, he was heartbroken and wished he wasn’t An Baoying’s biological son.

Having a mother like An Baoying made him not only disappointed and sad but also like he was carrying a heavy shackle, unable to lift his head.

And now, had his wish come true?

It turned out his biological mother was someone else.

No wonder the feeling he had towards her from the first time they met was different.

Huo Huaisang was overwhelmed with emotions and had countless questions for An Ge, but when Huo Shaoyan approached, he suppressed all his excitement.

Whatever caused their separation, at least his mother was back to find him now.

A child with a mother wouldn’t feel like a weed. He longed for such maternal love.

So, Huo Huaisang quickly nodded to An Ge, "Okay."

After he spoke, An Ge breathed a sigh of relief.

She had thought it through before revealing the truth to Huo Huaisang.

Now it seemed her gamble had paid off.

An Ge surmised that Huo Shaoyan’s care for Huo Huaisang wasn’t particularly attentive; otherwise, Huo Huaisang wouldn’t have sided with her so quickly.

An Ge suppressed all her excitement about reuniting with her son.

When Huo Shaoyan finally reached them, she said to him, "I got along well with your son, so we chatted a bit more."

Huo Shaoyan narrowed his eyes, focusing on the slight redness in Huo Huaisang’s eyes, "You like her?"

Huo Huaisang nodded, saying, "She smells nice, like the mother from my dreams."

Huo Shaoyan seemed to be in a good mood, "Really? So, between her and your biological mother, which do you prefer?"

Huo Huaisang wasn’t good at lying, but his tyrant father was shrewd; he had to say something, or the secret would eventually leak.

Thinking of this, Huo Huaisang said, "Although I like... Auntie, I can’t forsake the grace of my biological mother’s birth."

Huo Shaoyan made a sound of acknowledgment and said, "You’re a good child with filial piety. Hurry and get dressed. You can still make it to blow out the birthday candles."

After saying this, Huo Shaoyan naturally took An Ge’s hand, "Let’s go downstairs first."

An Ge hesitated but eventually went downstairs with Huo Shaoyan.

Downstairs, Huo Shaoyan handed her a bowl of freshly cooked sweet dumplings, "I made it myself."

Perhaps it was the joy of successfully reuniting with her son, or maybe it was to gain Huo Shaoyan’s trust and utilize his guilt towards her, but An Ge didn’t dampen his spirits.

After accepting the sweet dumplings, she began to eat them slowly.

Huo Shaoyan pulled a chair and sat beside her.

In the light, his eyes were tender yet intense, with an added hint of curiosity.

After about half a minute, he gave his assessment, "You must want something from me. That’s why you’re baiting me like this."

An Ge’s heart skipped a beat, but she remained calm.

She looked up into his increasingly deep eyes and said, "Are you hooked?"

Huo Shaoyan leaned back in his chair, his tone inscrutable as he said,

"Can’t you see? I’ve already taken the bait." He paused, "So, do you really want something from me, or are you here to seek revenge?"

An Ge replied, "I’ve said it before, I don’t intend to kill you. I do have a request for you."

Huo Shaoyan relaxed, asking, "What do you want me to do?"

An Ge said, "You’ve merely taken the bait. Once you’re truly hooked, I’ll tell you."

Unwilling to divulge any more information, An Ge stopped speaking, and Huo Shaoyan didn’t press further.

However, he could roughly guess that her request must be difficult; otherwise, she wouldn’t have such patience with him.

By the time Huo Huaisang came downstairs, An Ge had finished her bowl of sweet dumplings.

Huo Shaoyan wasn’t a man of many words, and inherently, he was emotionally reserved. Even as he celebrated his son’s birthday, he couldn’t say a sentimental blessing.

On the other hand, An Ge’s emotions were long and complex. As she accompanied Huo Huaisang in blowing out the candles, her emotions became so overwhelming that they were nearly uncontrollable.

Huo Shaoyan watched as she choked back tears, his curiosity growing like wild grass.

Logically, An Ge hated both An Baoying and him. It wasn’t sensible for her to favor him and An Baoying’s son.

Even though, as she said, the child was innocent and the adults’ grudges shouldn’t affect him, her attitude towards Huo Huaisang didn’t seem right.

Huo Shaoyan suppressed his doubts until after Huo Huaisang made his wish and finished the cake, when he offered to personally escort him back to his room.

Huo Huaisang was somewhat taken aback; Huo Shaoyan rarely visited his room.

Upon reaching the room, Huo Shaoyan spoke directly to him, "What did she tell you in your room?"

Huo Huaisang was quick-witted but not good at lying, so he lowered his head to hide his nervousness.

"She said she misses her son, and if he were alive, he’d be as... adorable as I am."

Huo Shaoyan’s presence was slightly intimidating, "What else?"

After a moment of forced composure, Huo Huaisang looked up at Huo Shaoyan and said,

"She said... you killed her child. That’s about it." He paused, "Dad, did you really hurt her?"

Huo Shaoyan didn’t answer his question directly. After tucking him in, he said,

"Don’t meddle in adult affairs, little one. Get some rest."

He turned off the light.

In the darkness, Huo Shaoyan quickly moved to the doorway.

Before he left the room entirely, Huo Huaisang asked, "Dad, if one day I leave you, would you be sad?"

Huo Shaoyan didn’t think much of it, chalking it up to a child’s wild imagination.

Still, he gave a definitive answer,

"Of course. We share a deep father-son bond. I’d naturally be sad if you left me."

After a while, Huo Huaisang replied, "Got it." He paused, "Good night, Dad."

...

After exiting Huo Huaisang’s room, Huo Shaoyan didn’t immediately head to the master bedroom to find An Ge.

Instead, he went to the study, retrieved the Buddha Beads bracelet he hadn’t worn for ages yet had meticulously maintained.

His fingers traced each bead on the bracelet. It was a birthday gift from An Ge years ago, the only item she had ever given him.

Aside from the Buddha Beads bracelet, the drawer contained a pink diamond ring, found in the ruins of Yu Garden years ago.

As he saw it, the pink diamond ring was deliberately left by An Ge, a sign she never wanted any association with him, as evidenced by her feigned death and unhesitating escape.

Now as she’s come back, even if she didn’t want his life, she wanted something else.

Huo Shaoyan was certain that An Ge approached him with a purpose.

Regardless of her motives, he resolved never to let her leave again.

With this in mind, Huo Shaoyan left the study and headed to the master bedroom.

As he pushed open the door, An Ge had just finished her bath.

She wore only a man’s black shirt, almost baring herself, and emerged from the bathroom.

Five years ago, she was pregnant and beautiful, but had become emaciated and pitiful, lacking the vibrant appeal she now exuded.

She needed do nothing more than stand there to make Huo Shaoyan feel a surge of excitement and passion.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he pinned her to the large bed.

Her hair spread across the pillow as he kissed her, undoing her shirt buttons with lips and teeth.

Kissing each inch of her tender skin.

His breath was hot and heavy.

Soon, the entire master bedroom began to heat up with his kisses.

The intense intimacy escalated rapidly.

Huo Shaoyan was in a hurry.

Five years was a long time, and his urgency couldn’t be hidden.

He impatiently sought to delve deeply and fiercely into her, unable even to wait for An Ge to be ready.

He longed for her.

Madly.
