Chapter 82: Myth

Qing Xuan and Xue Hanly immediately greeted Noa.

They bowed low at first.

After lifting their heads, both of them paused.

Their eyes landed on Noa’s shoulder. There, rubbing his belly, stood Umbu, his tail and wings almost hidden behind his fat frame.

He looked comfortable and silly.

"Puhhh. Puhhh."

Xue Hanly stared. "...Is that a dragon?"

Umbu puffed his chest, his face ironically looked cocky.

Qing Xuan watched with interest as well, her eyes blinking in quick succession. "I thought they were myths."

The little dragon frowned this time.

As for Noa, he was surprised by their comments, not expecting people from this world to know about dragons.

It wasn’t like Xianxia realms were foreign to them.

His idea came from Yun Qiqi, who didn’t know about their existence.

Normally, children loved tales and legends the most, so after hearing her statement, Noa thought that Ligma had never met dragons before.

Meeting the news with a calm, indifferent expression, Noa nodded.

He confirmed that Umbu was indeed a creature from the myths.

’But why is her education and understanding of this world so low?’ Noa thought, glancing at the little girl.

She was playing peekaboo with Umbu, hiding and showing her face repeatedly.

The dragon seemed to enjoy her games.

He was giggling non-stop, increasing his cuteness severalfold.

Noticing that the new customer was still focused on the shelves, Noa neared his employees and said, his voice barely above a whisper,

"What do you two know about dragons?"

Yun Qiqi squinted her ears.

She may not know about them, but she wanted to learn.

Xue Hanly coughed. She didn’t expect a question from Noa—she was caught completely off guard.

Her Senior Sister didn’t lose her cool, nodding as she opened her mouth to speak.

"They don’t exist," she said firmly, confident even.

But before Noa could ask more, she added, "At least that’s what most believe now because there is no evidence of them being real."

Noa didn’t show a reaction.

Qiqi leaned forward, her eyes lighting with curiosity.

Even little Umbu remained still, watching silently as if he wanted to learn more as well.

Qing Xuan continued. Her voice remained steady.

"Ancient records mention them. It came from the long-forgotten era—a time so ancient, we aren’t sure whether it truly existed. But according to them, dragons lived even before qi was structured."

Noa lowered his brows in interest.

"So they were born from the world’s earliest stages. Just when chaos ruled over everything and the principles of the universe were born."

He said it aloud, causing the girls to stay silent.

It made sense what he was saying, but at the same time, they had no idea what he meant by principles.

Seeing their confusion, he grinned and said,

"Go on."

Xue Hanly locked eyes with her Senior Sister as if getting permission to speak in her stead.

A moment later, she was the one to add this time,

"No texts mention them as powerful beings. They were more than that. From what I know, they governed over nature and the elements themselves; there was no fight against them, for they were seen as gods and worshiped as such."

With her words completed, everyone glanced at Umbu.

Now asleep and drooling slightly, he looked like nothing from the descriptions Noa had just heard.

"This one is quite hefty as well," Noa mentioned casually.

He also patted Umbu’s tiny head, feeling its warmth.

"I had him in the Binding Room, not knowing what was hiding inside this entire time. Turns out he was a primordial dragon, who is quite clingy as well."

Noa was talking slowly.

There were no emotions either in his voice or face.

He was just sharing information with his employees, as they held their breath.

Both Qing Xuan and Xue Hanly had seen the egg.

It was small, yes, but the amount of energy it could harness each second easily surpassed that of an entire sect.

Now thinking about it, it made sense for something like that to be a dragon.

Yet actually hearing that it came from the primordial heritage went beyond their expectations.

Noa continued surprising them.

He was a walking abnormality that couldn’t be measured by humans and their flawed brains. The primordial dragon should be even mightier than the legends.

But what can go beyond entities that existed before cultivation?

They were already considered as gods.

Immortality was a joke before them, and even though they should have no longer existed, everyone who knew their tales understood just how fearsome they truly were.

Noa, meanwhile, was carrying such a beast on his shoulders.

It still looked hatchling.

Umbu was still weak and fat, but there was no doubt, the pictures they had seen from the archives were real.

However, he would be even stronger, befitting Noa’s unknown status.

"Thank you," he said to the girls, letting the dragon sleep.

Even their relationship was worth noting, as both of the girls noticed how Noa felt like a loving father, who was looking after his mischievous son.

This revelation left them with enough thoughts to last at least for a few minutes.

So, Noa used the moment and left the scene.

He wanted to see his dignified-looking customer and find out her true identity. With quick and calculated steps, he moved forward.

As soon as he neared the woman, her guards stepped in to shield her.

"What do you want?" they questioned, standing still.

Noa ignored them both.

"Do you need any help? I think you are going to like my last products," he said confidently, pointing at the sealed box.

The woman looked poised between her wardens like a sharp blade hidden in its sheath.

She was in her early thirties, and everything about her exuded control. Raising her hand high, she didn’t speak, but dismissed her guards.

They obeyed instantly.

Moving beside her, they silently scanned the shop.

With no one standing between them, Noa could finally take a closer look at her.

Her elegant and practical robe was filled with golden ornaments.

"You are selling interesting products," she said calmly, eyeing the still-sleeping creature on his shoulder.
