Chapter 103: Abilities

Noa was watching how Mia, Evan, Umbu, and Chen Hao departed when the system rang in his head.

Thankfully, it didn’t make any excessive sounds like last time.

[People are more aware of your and the Heavenly Treasure Store’s existence. As a result, you are getting more Tycoon Points, but don’t forget to be bold when you start spending them,] the system advised, speaking softly directly into his head.

Noa nodded solemnly.

Mia’s actions and increased reputation were within his expectations.

Though he didn’t expect the system to get involved, he still got a nice result and filled his emptied TP reserves.

Now he could search for more products to sell.

He could even add additional floors or rooms in the store as well, while also spending more points on customization options.

The future had never looked so hopeful.

And having more than one direction to choose from never put Noa into a tough situation.

If it were him two weeks ago, he would struggle to decide what to do.

But each day in Ligma boosted his confidence and strengthened his resolve, allowing him to make tough decisions with ease.

Yet, it didn’t turn him into a lazy person who couldn’t think things through.

Instead of rushing into bold moves, Noa searched for even better, and riskier options that could either backfire and leave his pockets dry for a while or lead to an amazing payoff.

Sending Mia and Evan with Umbu wasn’t such a case.

They needed to experience how sects operated and learn a thing or two about this world.

Especially the younger ones.

Mia and Umbu had to adjust to a new environment while also practising qi control and survival skills.

’After their first day, I should test the theory you taught me,’ he said to the system, remembering the second method to let others cultivate energy from the world.

As for Evan, Noa thought it would be a great idea to have him see how enormous and incredible Ligma really was.

Not only would it aid his adjustment, but he might even get interested in cultivation as well.

"It would be funny to see Dad hooked on practicing martial arts techniques," Noa said to Yun Qiqi, who didn’t seem to mind that she couldn’t go.

Like an adult, she understood her role.

And accepting that she should stay and help Noa, Qiqi didn’t even try to argue.

"Yep," she nodded at Noa’s words. "I bet he will enjoy himself with Big Sister Mia and Umbu."

"We will go with them one day. When we don’t have stuff to do here," he said and went inside the store, signaling the girl to follow him.

The scene Noa found made him chuckle.

Qing Xuan, Xue Hanly, Mo Yuhua, and her two guards stood close to the window.

They had heard the commotion from the outside, causing their interest to soar as they peered through the glass to see what was going on.

"Did you like it?" Noa asked before they even noticed his arrival.

"Yes?" Xue Hanly jumped in place, startled. "Yes, yes. It was amazing," she added after regaining her composure.

Qing Xuan also agreed with a slight nod.

It wasn’t their first time seeing Mia using this technique, as they had been present when Noa taught her.

But seeing it in open space, while her control had improved tremendously, caused their hearts to stir.

They, too, wanted to own such power.

Thankfully, every night, after their shift was done, they could just go into the sect and practice it.

Its high cost was one thing.

But actually mastering a technique was ten times harder than they expected.

Yet, if it wasn’t for the manuals the hall provided and the projectiles Seris had shown them, this task would be impossible.

Take Qing Xuan, for example.

Her elements were water and shadow—a perfect representation of her personality.

She had always dreamed of becoming an assassin warrior to strike enemies from the shadows, while also possessing the strength to hold her ground in direct combat.

That’s why she had chosen Silent Step for her first technique.

It was an agility-type move that allowed her to quickly and silently step into the shadows, increasing her deadliness and survivability.

But mastering this ability took everything she had.

Still, even after practising it for an entire night, she was far from executing it properly.

Each time she tried to blend into the darkness, her legs trembled. Sometimes her footsteps made even louder noises, leaving the skill completely useless.

Xue Hanly didn’t fare any better.

Though she had only one elemental affinity, it was much higher than Qing Xuan’s by a lot.

She, too, governed over water.

But instead of standard water, she instinctively turned it into ice, adding more defensive and destructive properties.

The technique of her choice was called Lotus Snow.

When performed, it created a petal of ice and wrapped around her sword, exploding on impact.

However, not once did she use it properly.

Even after watching the projectiles countless times over, her swords shattered as soon as the ice touched them.

After watching Mia do something flawlessly—something they couldn’t even do properly—the girls didn’t feel jealous of her.

All they wanted was to be like her—idolizing her talent.

Not knowing this, Noa quickly changed his attention to Mo Yuhua and the two men behind her.

It was their first time meeting Mia.

They didn’t even know who she was, but after witnessing how well she could control fire and turn it into an explosion, they, too, realized her monstrous talent.

Especially the woman, as her eyes could see more than anyone.

Mia was only at the Foundation Establishment stage, yet her ability to wield qi easily suppressed even the Immortal Ascension cultivators she had encountered.

Watching her felt like Mo Yuhua was witnessing the future.

And she couldn’t help but imagine Noa’s sect filled with monsters like her.

Geniuses who could easily dominate the entire world, let alone the surrounding Black Ember region.

Not minding her reactions, Noa reached the counter and sat behind it.

Yun Qiqi also found a spot.

Before sending the woman to bring him resources, it was time for him to add one more room to his store.
