Chapter 102: Fireball

Evan’s eyes reluctantly retreated from the buildings he had been watching to pause on Mia.

She was beaming.

Confidence and excitement were both evident on her face.

Her hands were raised high, ready for the spell she had only used once, and she had been itching to try it again ever since.

But instead of mimicking her emotions, her father sighed first.

"Don’t burn yourself," he said and looked at Noa. "Are you sure this is safe? And how the hell is she even going to create a fireball?"

Questions were endless.

After transmigrating into a new world, their numbers hadn’t thinned.

Noa chuckled upon seeing his concerned gaze.

"Trust her. She is more capable than you can imagine," he said, his face lighting up with a wide smile as he added, "Even more than me."

Evan stared at him.

Then his eyes moved towards Yun Qiqi, as if he was asking her as well.

The little girl nodded.

She didn’t say a single word, but her determined face was more than enough to ease his mind.

Still, Yun Qiqi approached him and held his hand.

It was a silent declaration that everything would be okay, finally allowing Evan to let go of the weight on his chest.

Mia, meanwhile, didn’t hold back.

Fire particles materialized on her palm, following her breathing patterns.

They continued etching in and out of her body and soul, steadily raising the temperature to noticeable levels.

She was calm. Focused. Her legs remained unshakable.

When her fingers flexed, and a fire weaved between them, the surrounding air glowed once.

The tiny particles evolved into a faint spark.

At first, it was barely visible, shivering because of the strong wind. But then a low growl escaped the world, igniting the air itself.

Fire. Real. Burning.

It quickly enveloped Mia’s palm, and a sphere of energy surged into existence, exuding enough pressure for Evan to begin sweating.

"You are doing it?" he exclaimed, his mouth opened with shock. "It’s not painful, is it?"

Mia didn’t answer.

She nodded softly, letting the fire hover like a living thing as its glowing flame danced in her eyes, yet her expression stayed unwavering.

Noa didn’t have to help her. Not anymore.

Without breaking a single sweat, Mia didn’t struggle.

Her control had improved as well.

But she didn’t just stop there—after a deep exhale, she made a soft snap, throwing the ball into the sky.

It flew away in the distance, shrinking in size.

Each second, the energy it exuded dissipated, but the spark didn’t completely vanish until it reached the breaking point and exploded spectacularly.

The fireball spread like a firework.

Despite its magnificence, there was only one bang sound.

No loud noises. Nor the strong shockwaves that could shake the ground.

Still, the power it held could be devastating.

That’s why Evan didn’t move for a moment, his gaze lingering between Mia and Noa, not knowing how to react.

Transmigrating into a new world was one thing.

But witnessing how his daughter created and controlled magic, another.

It was surreal, making him question reality.

Yet the only answer Evan could come up with was that everything before him was real. The new world, Noa acting like a god, dragons, and Mia creating fire out of her bare hands.

As he was coping with this realization, the girl wasn’t done.

Why would she stop this early when she still had more qi in her reserve, allowing her to practise and show off more?

So she stepped again.

Mia’s fingers flickered, this time faster. Calmer.

Her expression remained unreadable, but the way her lips parted gave away her true emotions.

’She is enjoying herself,’ Noa thought, waiting for her to summon another fire power. ’I wonder what our neighbors are thinking right now.’

Just then, people flooded the street in interest.

Some heard the hushed sounds, some saw how the sky parted to make a way for Mia’s technique.

But one thing connected them all—they wanted to see the commotion, and after discovering how fireballs snapped into Mia’s hands, they stayed for the show.

Evan noticed their presence.

He noted how strangely they were clothed, thinking whether he should get such a robe as well.

Mia, meanwhile, had no plans to pause her performance.

Noa made no moves to stop her, either.

He just watched silently, feeling proud and determined to make her stronger.

At this point, Mia had already created more than one fireball in her hands, but instead of throwing them instantly, she lazily spun them between her fingers.

The crowd erupted in chaos.

They thought the girl was doing it as a performance, clapping for her.

With each movement Mia made, her body moved with ease, like each time she executed the technique, something deep was carved into her soul.

Finally, when her breathing quickened ever so slightly, she said,

"I feel like I can do this all day," then she launched fire into the sky and glanced at her family, not even looking at the scene she had created. "But I want to learn so much more."

"Sounds good," Noa answered. "Go into the sect and start training. But I want you to take Dad and Umbu with you."

His words were followed by two different reactions.

Evan and Mia stared at him in confusion.

But the dragon...

He felt way more than that.

For one, he seemed excited, expecting a new adventure with a chirp sound.

Then he looked at Mia and shrugged.

Though Umbu wanted to see the world, he didn’t want to leave Noa and Yun Qiqi, especially if he had to go with Mia.

Thankfully, Evan would be with him as well, offering him one saving grace.

As for Noa, he explained and gave instructions, advising them on what to do and how to act when they reach the sect.

Luckily, Chen Hao was also present, his eyes still fixed on the sky.

And he would gladly act like their guide.

After they left, Noa looked at the crowd, sensing their gazes, he smiled, knowing that his reputation would be spread, and it would result in additional Tycoon Points.

The system’s next announcement told him exactly that.
