Chapter 420: Chapter 420 Wedding (2)

The backdrop was a stunning old stone fountain, its water glittering under the afternoon sun. Delicate fairy lights were strung between ancient trees, and soft classical music drifted through the air, played live by a small orchestra tucked discreetly to the side.

Only close friends and family had been invited — no nosy reporters, no strangers. Just those who truly mattered.

Rose sat in the front row, holding a bouquet almost as big as her smile. Loki sat grumpily in her lap, a tiny bow-tie awkwardly clipped around his fat neck. Sir Sparkleton and Miss Sparkleton stood off to the side like two stiff robots trying to look fancy — he in a tiny tuxedo, she in a frilly lace apron.

Ethan, Liam, Nova, and Knox whispered jokes to each other near the aisle. Even Lennox and Daisy sat a little stiffly, eyes locked on the empty archway where Lilith would soon appear — their daughter, the one they’d thought lost forever, about to be claimed by someone who truly loved her.

And there he stood waiting for her... Ray. In that black suit, tie slightly askew because he liked it that way, his hands twisting together nervously until he forced himself to breathe.

"So beautiful...! Our beautiful bride!" Ava gasped dramatically, her hands clasped tight as she stared at Lilith standing by the big dressing mirror.

Nina didn’t say much — too busy snapping photo after photo with her phone, catching every angle of Lilith’s hair, makeup, and the delicate lace sleeves of her gown. "Just one more — okay, one more — turn your head! Perfect! Goddess!" Nina squealed.

Nora and Tara stood a little to the side, both looking like they’d forgotten how to breathe. "I swear I’ve never seen someone so... otherworldly," Tara whispered, her voice soft but so sincere that Lilith turned and gave her a small smile.

Even Krystal was there reunited with Daisy not long ago, she was glowing with the gentle warmth of having her old best friend back. She brushed a tear from the corner of her eye, laughing softly. "Daisy would be so proud, Lilith. Look at you."

Hannah felt warm inside too, standing quietly with her hands clasped together, taking in the flowers, the soft classical music, and the way Lilith looked so calm yet a little lost in thought.

Lilith’s hair was down, long waves flowing like ink down her back, the veil tucked in with a delicate silver comb that glimmered when the light hit it. Her gown was simple yet impossibly elegant — white silk hugging her waist and flowing to the ground like soft clouds, lace sleeves tracing her wrists, and a tiny slit at the side showing a peek of fair skin when she moved. Her sharp blue eyes seemed softer now, like moonlight caught on water.

When they said, "It’s time," Lilith almost felt her feet freeze but then she felt her father’s warm hand slip into hers. Lennox looked at her with eyes so much like hers, those cold blue depths now full of tears that hadn’t fallen yet. He squeezed her fingers, steady but a little shaky too.

"You ready?" Lennox asked quietly, his voice low and raw.

Lilith just nodded once, swallowing hard. She never thought she’d walk down an aisle with a father at her side. She never thought she’d even want to. But here she was letting her father lead her down the soft rose petal path toward the one man whose heart held every side of her soul.

The music rose, the gate opened, and the world seemed to hold its breath.

As they stepped out, everyone stood, the hush of awe filling the whole garden. The flower canopy above rustled gently in the breeze, fairy lights twinkling like distant stars. Rose held Loki tighter in her lap — Loki grumbled, his fat tail flicking, but the tiny bow-tie stayed on. Even Sir Sparkleton and Miss Sparkleton stood frozen on the sidelines, their blinking lights catching the soft shine of Lilith’s gown.

At the end of the aisle, Ray waited — his face so open, so pure, yet in his eyes that glint of a storm only Lilith could ever tame. He looked like he might burst with emotion at any second, hands twitching at his sides, lips parted like he was about to whisper her name.

When Lennox placed Lilith’s hand in Ray’s, their fingers threaded together so naturally — her cold slender fingers, his warm trembling ones. Lennox looked at Ray for a moment, that unspoken father’s warning in his stare, but Ray just nodded with all the innocence and seriousness in the world.

Ray couldn’t explain this feeling — God, she looked so beautiful, he still couldn’t believe he was marrying her.

He started speaking, his voice soft but clear. "Lilith... my Miss Mystery... I love you because you are the strongest and the gentlest. I love you because you let me see the sun, even in our shadows. I swear I’ll keep you safe, even if the world breaks me again and again. I want to spend all my days making you smile like this..." His eyes shimmered, and Lilith’s own eyes glistened with tears she refused to let fall.

Lilith took a breath, her voice low but strong. "You — my light, my warmth, my foolish human doll. You make me remember that love can feel good and dangerous all at once. I swear I will stand by you, in all your storms, in all your nights. I will protect you and ruin anyone who tries to steal your light from me. You are mine, now and always."

Ray almost laughed but instead, a single tear slipped down his cheek, his smile so bright it made Gray hum softly inside and even Alexander gave a silent nod.

After their confessions, the priest stepped forward, his voice gentle but clear as it carried through the quiet garden.

"Do you, Sebastian Carter," the priest began, "take Lilith Parker to be your lawfully wedded wife? To love her, honor her, protect her, in darkness and in light, in strength and in weakness, for all the days of your life?"
