Chapter 35: [35] Dragon heir {2}
[Ding! A person with destiny has been detected.]
Fenrir’s fierce appearance didn’t scare Zick at the slightest. Her real name was unknown, but it wasn’t important.
Brushing away the hands holding his shoulder, Zick exposed a gentler smile.
"I came here to fulfill my promise, of course. However, before that, please hand over the money as per the commission." Zick extended his hand.
Fenrir watched Zick with a frown, she took out her mobile and directly forced it into his hands.
"Take as much as you want!" Fenrir gritted her teeths, she was only interested in Zick’s information.
"....What’s the password?" Zick frowned at Fenrir’s weird behaviour.
"....You bitch." Fenrir clenched her teeth, punching at Zick’s without warning.
Bam!
The punch was met with Zick palm, creating a small wind pressure blast right in between them.
"kuuhhhh...." Fenrir’s hand shook from the force applied.
After watching Fenrir for a few seconds, Zick frowned.
"You don’t have the money? 60,000 wing points shouldn’t have been a problem for the dragon heir..." Zick was genuinely curious.
Fenrir retracted her fist and fell into contemplation.
’He is stronger than me....’
That’s what Fenrir analysed with her punch just now. She didn’t stand a chance against Zick and neither did the others, they were weaker than her.
"...A disappointing meeting, I guess. Excuse me, but I will be taking my leave now." Zick bowed slightly to Fenrir like a noble and made his way towards the exit.
He didn’t like doing charity and it would be suspicious if he actually provided free info to Fenrir.
It was better to retreat for now or seek further benefits depending on Fenrir’s reaction.
And instantly when Zick’s hand touches the door, he feels a cold sensation on his neck.
"....I’m not done yet." Fenrir held her sword firmly, not ready to lose the only hope before her.
"Just strength doesn’t mean everything in the underworld. Even if you did subdue me, You won’t be able to tell what I say is the truth. So...Keep your hands to yourself, beggar."
A sharp glint appeared in Zick’s eyes, he was ready to instantly subdue Fenrir.
Silence spread across the container, Zick moved a step away from the sword.
"....Just three days...I will prepare 60,000 wing points. The deal isn’t off the table yet, you hear?" Fenrir took away her sword with a ugly face.
The door was pushed open at that moment, three more people entered the room. They wore heavy expressions just like Fenrir, they were originally looking for a commision to make money - to buy the information from Zick.
They didn’t expect Zick to visit so soon, while they didn’t even have money to buy food for the upcoming week.
The bully-man at the front, looked at Zick with a cautious expression.
"I do have a commision with me. 30,000 wing points, are you interested?" Zick exposed a relaxed smile, in between the four people.
All four of their eyes shone at the same time.
It was almost impossible to get a commision rewarding 30,000 wing points, at the current level of dragon heir.
They were only famous right now due to the incident with Chaselt, in the main city.
"Tell me about it." Fenrir put away the sword in her storage ring. Folding her hands with a tough expression.
Sitting opposite Fenrir, Zick took a look at all the dragon heir’s members. There were two girls and two men.
’That bartender has good eyes....They all have good talents.’
Having lived in between the people who possess monstrous talent, Zick was able to gouge others’ potential with just a glance.
’However, talent isn’t gonna last them for a long time in the underworld. Without a leader to lead them, I doubt they will leave for long...’
Zick grew curious towards the Bartender internally.
"It’s a simple assassination commision. I want you to kill a few people without making too much noise. I won’t be responsible for your safety." Zick sent them a commision officially, through the [End’s wing].
It contained all the information about the people, who Zick wanted to kill. They were future collaborators of Ethereal, they were just grunts still.
They were all cleaned up by Zick in the future, however he doesn’t have the time to do so now.
"Assassination..." Fenrir frowned.
As she considered Zick’s commision, he decided to look at the system’s notification.
[Name: Sherlain Gourge (Fenrir)
Destiny grade: epic
Destiny: The Container of Chaselt’s will.
Favourability: 0 (Neutral)]
’A container? Confusing words...but for it to be still epic grade, Chaselt must have a very high destiny too. At least heroic or higher.’ Zick wondered internally.
"Hmm...." Zick stared at Fenrir, who was still deep in thought.
One of the dragon heir’s member raised a hand, with an uncomfortable expression. She appeared a few years older than Fenrir, around 22 or 23.
"Chaselt didn’t like commision like this, so I’m against it."
"Me too, I’m against it."
"....Chaselt will not like it if she knows we did such a commision for money."
"Ugh...." Fenrir grimaced.
The more Zick listened, the more his face fell towards coldness.
’They refuse to kill? What kind of group is this?’
They were nothing like how they acted in the future. Cruel and sinister in their actions, killing people everywhere to accomplish their missions.
’Is it because chaselt isn’t here? No....she is totally different from what I remember too.’
So...should he help them take out Chaselt so soon?
Is there any benefit in that?
’These four are garbage...A fitting description for talented, but useless in reality. I don’t feel so interested in that bartender anymore...’
More than that, Zick felt like breaking his tie with the dragon heir altogether.
"Worthless...." Zick couldn’t help but blurt out.
"I overestimated you guys, sorry. You are just dozens of plants, grown inside a greenhouse. Take out this bartender and what exactly can you do in the underworld?"
Zick stood up resolutely. It was a disappointment, too much of his time was wasted on this.
"Wait! What exactly do you mean by that?!" Fenrir flared up, but the weakness in her eyes gave her away. She knew that Zick’s words weren’t wrong.
All four of their expressions was ugly as they stared dagger at Zick.
".... Don’t bother contacting me, just buy the information about Chaselt’s innocence when you have the money." Zick exited the room without any hesitation.
Looking at the Bartender, Zick was speechless.
The whole bar was empty, only Jennie and the bartender sat on their counters calmly.
"I heard the conversation, you seem very dissatisfied." Jennie spoke, appearing to be half drunk.
Ignoring them, Zick walked towards the exit coldly.
"You know the information about the secrets of many small organisations. However, you didn’t look into the dragon heir’s information. Or was it due to what Chaselt did, that blinded your eyes." The bartender seemed very keen on striking up a conversation.
"You can think whatever you want. Are you interested in the commission?" Zick took side-glance at him.
"The dragon heir will accept your commission and not only this, but all that you provide in the future. Weren’t you looking for a team to make use of? I can only see that reason to make contact with them."
Zick frowned, he didn’t expect the Bartender to actually find out his intention.
The bartender smiled: "You only spoke to the dragon heir and ignored any other person trying to contact you. Do you think I am blind?"
In the silence, Zick turned back at last. Normally others wouldn’t find out such action, until you have a wide range of information connections.
"....what? Are you going to throw those useless things for me to nurture? Their talents are good...but that’s all they have, just a dozen cannon fodders."
The Bartender wasn’t dissatisfied with Zick’s blatant scolding. Because he knew exactly how the current dragon heir was.
The four members of the dragon heir also arrived at this moment. They were all quite riled up listening to Zick’s words.
"...Take them as your personal squad and I will provide 20% to all the information and commission you have for me in the future. They have grown up to be a useless bunch of fodders as you said. And I don’t like that."
At the start, the Bartender hoped for them to grow up naturally. However, it seems they all have been led astray by Chaselt, who was the most talented among them.
It was a very disappointing scenario, he wanted them to be among the elites in the underworld.
And from their current set of actions, they will probably never grow up to his satisfaction.
"I won’t be responsible for their safety. I will provide them with commissions. Are you sure?" Zick smiled.
He wouldn’t reject such an offer, Zick wasn’t interested in raising a bunch of greenhorns, but he too accepted their talent, which was rare.
"That’s right. Mindset can be changed, but talent is impossible to change." Bartender understood Zick’s mindset too.
