The TV in front of me shows a lot of broadcasts, mostly News. I was sitting on the bed. It was getting late and Gruvv wasn’t back yet, he said he wouldn’t be having dinner together so I ate with Ave. He rarely comes home late, which is why dinner was so quiet. Ave talk as usual, but it felt like something was missing.

I flicked from one channel to another. A news came up about the Dhurudatta family, they have a main company called DATTA’s company which focuses on construction. I don’t know why a construction company would lend money to someone like my father.

"The DATTA company signed a contract with the government to build a museum in the downtown, today their director, Cross Dhurudatta came to cut the ceremonial ribbon with the minister..."

The news anchor’s voice was no longer audible as I was busy with my own thoughts right now. The Dhurudatta family always appeared in the news, but the one who was often in the public is Gruvv’s eldest brother as the director of the company, Cross Dhurudatta.

Cross doesn’t really resemble his two younger siblings except for his black hair, as Gruvv said that his family has that gene. If Gruvv and Joshua look more like their Dad who often appears in public, I think Cross looks more like his Omega father. His face is not like an Asian, his lips are a bit thin, though their facial structures are almost similar.

Cross has a tattoo covering his neck, with bright blue eyes similar to Joshua’s while Gruvv like his dad has light brown eyes. Their genes really are perfectly divided.

I don’t know what Gruvv role in the company, but his working hours are sometimes like a normal office worker. Does he have tattoos too? Yesterday I saw that Joshua has a tattoo on his right hand.

"Oh my, you are trembling and scared just because of me? Weird, you’re not afraid of my brother tho? So why you scared? You know what he’s doing out there?"

I remember what Joshua said, well, I don’t know. I never asked Gruvv what he was doing in the company, what he was doing out there.

"Oh, you haven’t slept yet?"

I turned around and found the tangerine scent filling the room, he was wearing a fitted black shirt with black trousers. Today he was wearing loafers too, a few days ago I saw him coming home wearing military boots like the ones Joshua was wearing. In his right hand was a long light brown coat, his black hair looks a little messy.

"Did you take a shower?" I asked, not answering the question he asked earlier.

Gruvv shook his head slightly, his hand ruffling his half-wet hair and he smiled widely.

"I was sweating, so I decided to take a shower before going home."

I don’t smell anyone else’s pheromones on his body, he might be honest. On the other hand, I think he took a shower after doing pervert things with someone. It’s not strange either, he’s a grown man and an Alpha Dominant.

Gruvv come closer and sat next to me, keeping his coat neatly to the side. I think it’s getting colder in the city, it’s been cold here since I first came. It’s already in autumn anyway.

"How was your day?" It’s a question he asks every time he comes home. Come to think of it, I never asked otherwise.

"What if you told me how you were doing at work?"

I saw his eyes blink a few times, maybe it never crossed his mind that I would ask that. He paused for a moment, scratched his head and he began to speak, "Yeah, well, uh great."

I frowned, what did he mean?

"That doesn’t sound like an answer." I said.

He scratched the back of his neck and looked so nervous, I was starting to wonder what he did out there every day. All I see on the news is Cross and his father for every event, why is it that neither Gruvv nor Joshua’s name is ever heard?

"Well, I have a busy day at the company." He said shortly.

I put my feet up and put them on the sofa. I turned to him, paying all my attention to him.

"I never saw you on television, I only saw your father and sometime your older brother there." I pointed to the television still showing news about Dhurudatta’s family.

He glanced at the television, "Ah, I’m just an ordinary worker. I’m not as high as Cross."

I nodded as if I understood, "Is this yours?" I twirled my finger in the air, talking about this house.

"Yes, those old farts he gave us his children a house and land to live in.."

"You’re a rich man."

He paused for a moment then laughed loudly, "Right, that’s why you don’t have to worry even though I don’t have a high position like Cross and rarely appear on television, I’m still a rich man." He said with a big smile.

Small talk, casual laughter, an Alpha I didn’t know would make me so comfortable when I’d normally be so scared. The Alpha around me doesn’t make me feel safe and comfortable, but this guy in front of me...

"Are you an horrible person out there, Gruvv?"

His laughter stopped, I could see his eyes were rounded, he turned to me, puzzled. I hugged my legs "Joshua said, I should have been scared of you. Are you a bad guy out there? What are you doing?"

Gruvv shook his head, from his reaction I was sure he was hiding something. I didn’t think he’d be gentle out there or even be nice, after all he was the one chasing my father. His family let my father money with high interest rate, he took me from Madam Rose, I’m sure this person in front of me doesn’t look like this out there.

"D-don’t listen to Josh, I’m not doing anything, I’m just working.."

"But, you are a mobster.."

He was silent again, why should he hide his true self in front of me? Am I not the family of the person he is chasing? I already knew he was a mobster, his family was already famous for it even though their main business was in construction. Then, why?

I looked at his face and a chuckle saw him still trying to find an excuse to respond to my words, "Gruvv.." I called his name and he turned around.

"You know what? They say that the dominant Omega is much higher in rank than the regular Omega. I heard out there, Omega used to live a stressful life and get bullied all over. They cannot work and live as they should. I thought I was different, but when my father went bankrupt, I was nothing more than a regular Omega. I’m the same as them, all the Alphas that are around me, scared me out... " I said.

I don’t know why I just wanted to tell him this. I used to be indifferent to what was happening around me, now I realize that the world doesn’t just revolve around me. Life goes on no matter how hard I try to end it.

"Thank you for being nice to me."

I could feel him leaning towards me, his face started to come closer and his lips were already touching mine. I could feel his breath, I could smell the mint toothpaste he was using, I could smell the pheromones and his perfume because he was so close.
