Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Your Experience Value, I’ve Taken It
"Bring it on with your rotation battle! I really want to see how long this kid can last!"
Roaring with the voice of Giant Stone, one burly adventurer after another clawed their way towards Yang Yu, teeth bared for the attack.
"Thorny Binding!"
Yang Yu remained cool and collected, his fingers lightly touching the wall as thorns grew in every direction from the wall, entangling two adventurers who lunged at him.
The members of Giant Stone Team were in a buzz of discussion,
"What kind of Skill is this? How come we’ve never seen it before?"
"Is it a Skill unique to the Plant Clan?"
Morale shaken once again, Giant Stone roared, "Don’t just stand there! Hurry up and cut through the thorns!"
Hearing Giant Stone’s command, several adventurers immediately drew their knives to cut the entangled members free from the thorns.
All members of Giant Stone Team were warriors; there were no archers or mages, which greatly reduced the difficulty of Yang Yu’s strategy.
Even if there were, it wouldn’t have mattered.
Yang Yu had learned "Copper Wall Iron Curtain" and "Steel Body" from Skill Scrolls, greatly increasing his tanking ability, making it a minor issue to block a few spells.
As the binds were released, the burly adventurers charged at Yang Yu once more.
The early use of Skills meant early cooldowns, so Yang Yu threw up "Shield Block" and "Shield Counter" to defend himself, then quickly used "Steel Body" to increase his Blood Volume cap, taking on the attacks with sword and shield, creating plenty of space for Bai Jin and Iyas to deal out damage.
Iyas had limited mana, so most of her attacks were normal shots; Yang Yu did not let Iyas waste her Skills, but rather waited for "Hunter Mark" and "Deadly Shot" cooldown to refresh for a burst of damage.
Bai Jin kept up the assault with "Frost Ice Arrow," occasionally adding Control with Ice Cone Skill. With her Intelligence replenishing, Bai Jin’s output was significantly plentiful. The only concern for Yang Yu was whether Bai Jin’s stamina would sustain until her mana was depleted.
Yet, Yang Yu’s worry proved once again to be unnecessary.
It seemed the opposition couldn’t hold out that long.
It turned out Yang Yu had underestimated Iyas’s luck; in addition to the "Hunter Mark" and "Deadly Shot" combo consistently landing critical hits, Iyas’s normal shots were also critting from time to time.
In a moment of distraction, Yang Yu recalled that throughout his time playing this game, he had never landed a critical hit.
Truly, comparisons are odious.
When playing games, Yang Yu particularly loathed relying on gear that increased critical hits—unless stacked to 100%, such gear made virtually no difference.
Now, watching his teammate score critical hit after critical hit, Yang Yu had to admit he was feeling a bit envious.
However, thanks to Iyas’s successive critical hits, the pressure on Yang Yu in battle was significantly relieved, enabling him to taunt his enemies with leisure to spare.
To be honest, witnessing Iyas’s plethora of critical hits did stir a little excitement within Yang Yu.
"Maybe I should let Iyas continue down the path of a blast damage archer... Find a Priest? If not a Priestess, a Priest would do, and it would balance the gender ratio of the team just right."
Ultimately, Yang Yu dismissed the idea.
Not for any other reason, but during the rush to farm monsters for Experience Value, Yang Yu had noticed something.
When two people formed a team, if one person killed a monster, both the killer and the teammate received 100% Experience. However, in a three-person team, if one person killed a monster, the killer got 100% Experience, and the other two received only 80%.
Following this logic, the more people in a team, the lower the Experience bonus.
Yang Yu wasn’t ignorant of this setup; if the Experience remained the same, he would just recruit everyone in this world into the team and train every NPC up to the Level cap.
At that point, the Demon King and his army wouldn’t have a chance.
Not knowing how much Experience penalty would be involved with adding another person, Yang Yu still decided to go with the initial strategy of Warrior, Mage and Priest.
Of course, if someone wanted to take on two roles, Yang Yu wouldn’t mind, casting the required BUFFs, doing the healing, letting her play the Archer however she wanted; Yang Yu wouldn’t interfere and who knew, there might be extra output in the end.
The Giant Stone Team was in retreat; the thought of his own team being crushed by a young kid leading two women filled him with rage. Tearing off each injured member, he stepped over cold bodies and entered the fray himself, swinging his axes to unleash a Shattering Heavy Strike at Yang Yu.
"Try taking this move if you dare!"
"Why wouldn’t I?"
Shield Counter’s cooldown had just refreshed. Yang Yu crouched down, lifting his Shield, and red spurs jutted out, withstanding Giant Stone’s Shattering Heavy Strike.
Shattering Heavy Strike had a certain armor-piercing effect, but unfortunately for Giant Stone, Yang Yu didn’t stack Defense, only Endurance.
After taking 10% of the Shattering Heavy Strike’s damage, Yang Yu gasped for air.
Meanwhile, Giant Stone suffered the full damage of the Shattering Heavy Strike, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.
Casually spitting out the blood in his mouth, Giant Stone began to swing his giant axe hysterically, launching an attack with no pattern.
Since most of the moves were transparent, he simply resorted to overpowering with Strength and Speed alone.
"Resorting to a helpless fury when suppressed—that really is an ugly sight!"
A smile played across his lips; Yang Yu surely wouldn’t miss such a great chance to mock, otherwise, the real "Taunt" would be a long way off.
"Shut your mouth! You must pay the price for what you’ve done! Don’t scurry around like a rabbit, have the guts to stand and fight me properly!"
Giant Stone swung his axes furiously; Yang Yu leaped back, smoothly dodging Giant Stone’s attack, and then struck back, wounding Giant Stone’s arm with his blade.
"You didn’t start off fair and square, why should I? Besides, the reason your teammates are like this isn’t my fault, but yours. I’m just being helpful; I still don’t know what I did to provoke you... well, you won’t say, but I can guess—it’s nothing more than you targeting those weak adventurers and I just happened to snatch your prey!"
"Yes! That’s it! If you hadn’t interfered with us, it wouldn’t have come to this!"
Giant Stone swung his large axe ceaselessly, each blow with all his might, leaving deep pits in the walls, but he would immediately pull the axe out and strike at Yang Yu again.
"How pathetic. Afraid to face your own weakness and thus, bullying those even weaker."
Yang Yu’s gaze didn’t waver as he activated "Copper Wall Iron Curtain", using his own body to directly block Giant Stone’s attacks, reducing the swing of his body.
"Bai Jin, Iyas, fire at will!"
Bai Jin and Iyas seized the excellent opportunity created by Yang Yu, continuously raining Magic and bows and arrows down on Giant Stone.
"You’re such an annoying pest!" Giant Stone raised one axe to defend against the two’s attacks, the other hand continuing to strike at Yang Yu.
As his sights blurred, Giant Stone thought he saw Yang Yu’s mouth move.
"The annoying pest is you! It’s time to put an end to this farce. Your Experience Value, I’ll take that."
