Chapter 195: It’s Really Too Difficult

Chapter 195: Chapter 195: It’s Really Too Difficult

In the All Things Library territory, the ingredient shop owner packed the ingredients into wooden crates, checked them one by one, and handed the verified list to a golden-haired girl.

"These are the deliveries needed today. Thank you for your help."

"No problem, leave it to me."

The golden-haired girl, who seemed no older than eighteen or nineteen, was dressed in a monochrome coarse cotton T-shirt and light shorts, with an air of elegance about her brows.

However, unlike her delicate appearance, her hands were covered with calluses, and her skin had turned a healthy wheat color under the relentless daily exposure to the sun.

The crates filled with ingredients were very heavy, and the girl struggled to arrange them one by one onto the cart.

But the creature pulling the cart was not a horse, but a giant wolf standing over two meters tall.

This giant wolf had grey-black fur, with snow-white cheeks and paws. Its pale blue eyes shimmered in the sunlight, and the luxuriant mane around its neck and shoulders gave it a majestic, lion-like appearance, which caused many passersby to stop and gaze, speculating about the breed of the giant wolf.

Before the occasional curious glances, the girl gave a slight smile, loaded all the heavy crates onto the cart, and with extremely proficient movements, she climbed onto the back of the giant wolf.

"Lotcar, let’s go."

The giant wolf Lotcar obeyed the instructions of the girl Sakura Fall. Wulas, and effortlessly pulled the heavy cart towards the Library living area.

Passing the checkpoint, the workers there recognized Sakura and Lotcar even without an ID Card and allowed them to pass without any issues.

Facing such a giant wolf, most people in the Library treated it as a common sight.

Members active in the living area went about their own business, completely ignoring the giant wolf walking majestically down the street.

Continuing to drive Lotcar, Sakura arrived at her destination, handed over the list to the shopkeeper, who checked the cargo on the cart one by one. After confirming everything was correct, Sakura alone unloaded all the goods from the cart and delivered them into the kitchen.

In order to ensure the safety of the goods, Sakura carried them with her body leaning slightly backward, each step taken with great care, avoiding every person on the road as much as possible to deliver the goods intact to the kitchen.

Only after unloading all the goods from the cart did a young man resembling a waiter leisurely take out a Contribution Card to settle Sakura’s wages.

The shop had originally wanted to hire a Magician, who could have transported all the goods to them in the blink of an eye. However, to their surprise, a Monster Tamer girl had come instead.

They had thought to refuse the delivery, asking Sakura to set down the Task and to call another Magician, but instead, they were persuaded by Sakura to leave the task with her.

As for the wages, the price had already been set at the time of commissioning; they were not going to give her a single penny more, even seeing how hard she worked.

But it seemed Sakura wasn’t dissatisfied at all.

The value on the Contribution Card jumped slightly, and she heaved a slow sigh of relief. Patting Lotcar’s shoulder, the fluffy fur instantly soothed Sakura’s tired body and mind.

Once again mounting Lotcar, Sakura and Lotcar continued to their next work destination.

Just like that, the girl and her wolf worked in tandem, running about. Quickly, the day passed.

As the sun dipped to the west, the hustling Sakura Fall and Lotcar finally found a moment of peace, purchasing dinner from their regular store.

"I’m starting,"

Sitting in the plaza, watching others chatting and laughing around, Sakura Fall broke apart her chopsticks and enjoyed an exceedingly simple vegetarian bento.

Lotcar sat not far away, slowly swallowing the meat that filled his dish.

The Library’s Contribution Value and money operated on a one to one thousand exchange ratio, and the daily tasks issued by the Library primarily collected Contribution Value. Working for the Library brought in much higher income than other places, yet Sakura Fall was very frugal.

All of this was to offer Lotcar a decent home, so he wouldn’t have to wander lonely outside of the dormitory while she stayed there.

Three years ago, after careful consideration, Sakura Fall chose to take out a loan, bearing an interest of one-tenth, to purchase a villa with a small courtyard where Lotcar could frolic and play.

Unfortunately, Sakura Fall hadn’t yet paid off her housing loan, preventing any private modifications to the villa; she was unable to let Lotcar live inside.

Sakura Fall had already decided. In just about half a year, she would be able to pay off all her loans. Then, she would get started on expanding the door so Lotcar could enter the house and fully enjoy the warmth of the rooms without having to endure the harsh weather.

Therefore, to pay off her loan, Sakura Fall had been living a very tight-budgeted life.

"It’s about time to head back,"

After tossing the bento box into the trash can and rinsing off the dust with the public tap, tidying up Lotcar’s dishevelled fur, Sakura Fall once again mounted Lotcar and returned to the villa purchased with the loan.

Everything around the villa remained the same, except for today, when a young-looking man was added to the scene.

The man stood at the doorstep of her villa, sneakily surveying the place.

Lotcar immediately became alert, with sharp glances bouncing out of his blue eyes, fixating on the man as if he were prey.

The man seemed to notice their arrival, ceased his survey of the villa, and meeting the gaze of the low-growling Lotcar, flashed a faint smile, paying them a courtesy,

"Hello, Miss. Are you Sakura Fall? My name is Yang Yu, I’m a freshman who just started this year, and also a Monster Tamer. I heard that Miss Fall is also a Monster Tamer, so I thought I would come by to make your acquaintance."

Dismounting from Lotcar, Sakura Fall sized up Yang Yu. She couldn’t detect any noble aura on him, and judging from his clothes, Sakura Fall determined that Yang Yu was most likely an adventurer who wandered far and wide.

Sakura Fall gently patted Lotcar to stop him from growling and asked, "What exactly do you want from me? It can’t just be to make an acquaintance, can it?"

No one would visit a temple without a cause. Sakura Fall didn’t believe Yang Yu came just to make friends for no reason, especially since she hadn’t seen him with a demon, making his claim of being a Monster Tamer somewhat dubious.

In fact, Yang Yu had intended to bring He Meng along, but this morning he totally forgot to ask Bai Jin where he had gone, and it was really too difficult to search for Bai Jin classroom by classroom.

If this world had mobile phones, it would have been just a simple phone call away.

But in this world, science and technology were curiously developed; unless you were a Magician, finding someone meant waiting at their usual haunts or arranging to meet at a predetermined spot in advance.

Yang Yu, wanting Bai Jin to return He Meng, could only wait until the evening’s rest.
