Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 940 - 701 Welcome to Kaer Morhen
Chapter 940: Chapter 701 Welcome to Kaer Morhen
Europe.
The ancient castle hidden deep in the dense forest suddenly trembled, and soon, alarms blared all around and lights lit up.
Shhh!
A rift tore open in the void, followed by a claw covered in scale armor emerging from within.
Thud!
A massive forelimb descended from the sky, crushing houses as it landed, and shortly after, an enormous body squeezed out of the rift.
It was a grotesque giant dragon—a creature that should only exist in legends.
"This is the world you spoke of?"
With strange syllables trembling in the air, the dragon examined this unfamiliar place with a contemptuous gaze.
"The energy activity here is pathetically low. What rank of world is this supposed to be?"
"A dragon!"
"Oh my god, it’s a real giant dragon!"
Chaos erupted throughout the castle. The ear-piercing sound of alarms echoed far and wide, and before long, armed combatants swarmed to the location.
Crackling noises!
Intense flashes of fire erupted, with the distant sound of rocket launchers accompanying them.
"What are these bugs trying to do?"
The dragon spoke. Though his words carried no inherent power, the pressure generated by his voice still sent the ordinary humans surrounding him flying.
"Annoying!"
Suddenly, a vicious gleam appeared in the dragon’s eyes. In the next moment, the surrounding air seemed to freeze. Accompanied by the sound of cleaving, invisible wind blades sliced through the crowd, scattering blood droplets in all directions.
"You’re more familiar with this place, lead the way. We need to quickly find Amanda’s hiding place."
A ray of light shot out from the center of the dragon’s forehead, conjuring a floating hourglass. "The time we can remain here is limited."
"Evans, I must remind you that this world is vastly different from ours. Technology is far more advanced here, and while the lives of ordinary people are short, the collective strength they wield should not be underestimated."
"Additionally, the speed of information dissemination here is astonishing. Phones and networks are everywhere."
"Network? What’s that?"
The dragon known as Evans furrowed his brow. In an instant, dozens of translucent beams shot out, precisely piercing the heads of the corpses lying on the ground.
A flicker of understanding flashed in his eyes, and Evans nodded, saying, "What an interesting place it is, though ultimately, nothing more than trivial tricks. These methods are utterly insignificant when compared to transcendent power."
Evans sneered coldly, "Chachi, I pity you. After staying here for so long, you still haven’t completely mastered this world."
"I’ve told you before, this world is far more complex than you imagine. Moreover, there are many clues suggesting hidden forces far beyond the limits of this world."
"We need to be cautious."
Chachi responded helplessly, unable to believe he had returned to this place again in such little time.
If he had known earlier, why did he ever leave?
He could have continued living as a reclusive noble, enjoying all the conveniences modern technology brought. And now?
He was like a dog shackled by a collar.
He twisted his neck slightly, where a black circular ring was fastened.
"Was that what they call technological weapons just now?"
"Nothing significant at all."
Sifting and summarizing the memories he had acquired, Evans instinctively dismissed certain parts. Coming from a powerful high-energy world, he naturally harbored an ingrained arrogance and disdain for everything in this low-energy world.
"Let’s go. Find Amanda immediately." He urged impatiently.
"We need to disguise ourselves. If you’re flying around like this, it won’t take long before the entire world notices."
"Even in reality, there are hidden transcendents. Do you want to be hunted by the entire world’s transcendent forces?"
Chachi said reluctantly.
Having crossed worlds, Chachi’s powers were suppressed. However, because his soul had lived here for nearly a century, his strength wasn’t significantly diminished.
Evans, on the other hand—Chachi glanced briefly at the funnel-shaped emblem on Evans’ forehead. It was this object, gifted by Heyman, that helped Evans resist the interference of low-energy world rules.
"Didn’t you say that mid-Fourth Tier is already the limit here?"
"Don’t forget Geralt." Chachi reminded him.
"No matter what, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a low-energy world. With the power I currently possess, as long as I’m cautious, avoid encountering Fifth Tier beings, and don’t get cornered by a large number of transcendents, there’s nothing to be concerned about."
"Do you think such a world can even produce a Fifth Tier being?"
"Even if it could, how much combat power would they have here?"
Evans said confidently.
By now, hardly anyone was alive in the castle, with collapsed buildings turning the surrounding area into ruins.
"Let’s go." Chachi said helplessly, "To my knowledge, Amanda seems to belong to a Demon Hunter organization..."
"Its name should be Kaer Morhen, supposedly a castle."
"Where is it?"
Evans asked.
"I’m not sure, but it doesn’t matter. Give me some time—I can investigate."
"Too troublesome!"
Evans flapped his wings and soared into the sky as a gust of air enveloped Chachi simultaneously.
The two figures ascended into the pitch-black night, merging with the darkness of the surroundings. Soon, the large and small shadows eerily disappeared from the air.
"You mentioned this world has many transcendent forces. We may be unfamiliar with them, but I reckon someone will be willing to provide relevant information."
"What are you planning?"
"The Speaker’s time is precious—I don’t want him waiting too long."
