Chapter 927: Chapter 694 Heyman’s Bargaining Chip_2

Even Amanda had an odd expression on her face.

The fiery world vanished, and the group once again appeared atop the mountain peak, where the surrounding snow collapsed, the sound of crashes and impacts incessant.

Jora transformed into a Giant Dragon and soared into the sky with a flap of her wings.

Although Sonia lacked wings, with just a brief thought, Roger enabled Sonia to use the vibrations of space as she ran, allowing her to stride effortlessly across the heavens.

Coupled with Roger’s enhancement, her speed didn’t fall behind too much.

To Roger’s surprise, Jora’s direction wasn’t away from the snow-covered area but instead pushed further north.

Understanding Jora’s Energy attributes, Roger had deliberately chosen the battlefield within the snowy region. Yet the Fifth Tier body was already transcending normal boundaries.

Even if the world rules varied, upon reaching the Fifth Tier, one would no longer be hindered by the surrounding environment.

Each of them functioned akin to an independent Another World, containing certain rules within their bodies. If these weren’t suppressed and directly appeared in reality, it would undoubtedly trigger bizarre supernatural phenomena.

However, the Energy Level of this world was evidently far greater, and many things couldn’t be equated at face value.

Roger hadn’t experienced many worlds from Another World, but even he could perceive the inherent chaos of the original world.

Compared to the unity here, their original world seemed more like a jumbled mess pieced together with scattered blocks.

The hints from the Hunter’s Cabin and speculations regarding the Shadow World further deepened Roger’s thoughts about their origin world.

Jora was highly cautious. Although Dora was her sister, she wouldn’t act recklessly, especially considering Roger’s overwhelming strength, which demanded her serious attention.

Even though Jora was skeptical of Roger’s claims, she had no choice but to leave them behind for now. After all, if Jora were captured by Heyman again, it would cost her dearly.

Thus, despite Jora proactively proposing it, she still wouldn’t lead Roger and the others into the true core area of the Rebel faction.

As they continued north, the temperature plummeted further. Not to mention human settlements, even animals became increasingly sparse.

Yet, due to the harsh environment, the power of the Transcendent Kinds in the wild rose sharply. Pressing on, after crossing a chasm-like towering peak, Jora let out a long, resonant cry.

Her wings created a strange symbol in the air, infused with surrounding Energy, which then rapidly expanded and enveloped everyone within.

Immediately, the scene before them transformed.

Inhaling deeply, the moist, warm air filled their noses.

Nestled amidst glaciated peaks was a vibrant valley teeming with life.

The interconnected mountain peaks formed a natural barrier, with its center appearing almost as though deliberately hollowed out.

After some time flying through endless snow-capped peaks, this abrupt visual change jolted everyone’s spirits.

Jora reverted to her human form, descending slowly to the valley below.

"Deep beneath the valley lies a volcano on the brink of eruption," Jora casually explained.

Little did she know, due to Amanda and the Igni Dharma Seal, Roger was already quite familiar with flames. Moreover, with his elevated power and broadened perspective, even a cursory glance revealed hidden peculiarities.

Clearly, this volcano was no ordinary one.

"This is a remote land," Jora added, "only those I truly trust can enter here."

She shot Roger a brief, penetrating glance.

Roger noticed that, aside from the myriad plant species, massive dragon statues adorned the valley’s edges and surrounding cliffs.

From the intricate scales to their imperious expressions, each statue seemed alive, ready to attack at any moment.

"Let Dora rest properly. I’m not well-versed in consciousness and soul studies, but I’ll send someone to examine her," Jora said offhandedly.

"That works," Roger replied with a nod.

"Coincidentally, I have some matters that require your assistance as well."

Jora hesitated for a moment. "After her examination, we can discuss it."

Roger said nothing more, instead following her guidance to a palace carved into the cliffside.

Before Roger disappeared, a faint whisper reached his ear, "Promise me, for a short time... at least until I find a solution..."

"Don’t involve Dora..."

Roger could sense the killing intent hidden in Jora’s words.

If he continued messing around, this woman would truly lose her mind.

Without waiting for Roger’s response, Jora’s figure vanished into thin air.

Meanwhile, in a remote location far from Roger’s sight, within a rustic grand hall, Jora reappeared, eagerly asking first, "What have you discovered?"

"Honorable queen..."

An elderly man, face lined with deep grooves, bowed slightly. "Lady Dora’s consciousness is chaotic. To investigate thoroughly would require breaching active defenses, but currently..."

"Such an action would cause her significant harm."

The elder deliberated for a moment. "Her consciousness is shrouded in a dark shadow, yet I can sense conflicts between her consciousness and body—not too severe, more like residual effects from a recently failed ritual."

"Can she recover?" Jora asked anxiously.

"I’m uncertain," the elder replied. "Consciousness and souls are the most enigmatic of elements. Please grant me more time to study this carefully."

Hearing this, Jora’s tense heart relaxed slightly.

Roger remained unaware that from the moment they entered, a so-called examination had already begun. Yet this was something Roger had long anticipated.

In his chamber, Roger stomped lightly on the floor.

The surrounding atmosphere shifted subtly.

Advent.

"Don’t leave this room. I want any external surveillance to be disrupted," Roger declared.

Amanda visibly eased up. "Does this mean we’ve passed the test?"

"Not quite. It’s simply that under no circumstances can that woman tolerate you falling into Heyman’s hands," Sonia interjected.

Roger nodded. "The current situation isn’t too bad. Even if exposed, we still have a fallback plan." Roger cast Sonia a meaningful glance.

Sonia understood that Roger’s fallback referred to Dora, who lay dormant under control back at Kaer Morhen.

Moreover, through their brief exchanges earlier, Roger had gained newfound insights into his shadow’s power. He even felt he might have underestimated its potential.

"Stay vigilant," Roger concluded. "Don’t forget our purpose in coming here."

Turning to Sonia, he asked, "Tell me, how can I help you recover your strength or progress further?"

"The Energy Level of this world far exceeds ours. Although scarce in number, there truly are Giant Dragons in this realm, with some elite individuals having a slim chance to transcend the limits of life."

"They don’t need to go through the same processes we do to reach the Fifth Tier."

"These beings are practically immersed in the rules of the world. If I could absorb the essence of a top-tier Giant Dragon..."

"I believe I could not only cross that barrier but even take a significant leap forward!"

"Of course..."

"That’s merely the ideal scenario."

Sonia quickly settled herself down.

"Since this topic has been raised, let’s discuss it systematically. Advancing to the Fifth Tier in our world requires a greater toll."

"This world is clearly still evolving. If the rules of the world weren’t suppressing such ascensions, I suspect there would be far more Fifth Tier entities born here naturally."

Her eyes flashed with doubt. "It’s strange, as if something behind the scenes orchestrates this. Though it’s also possible Heyman is the culprit."

"He likely doesn’t want anyone approaching or surpassing him."

Sonia quickly cast aside the thought. "To ascend to the Fifth Tier, Vitality is paramount, followed by immense power derived from combining World Fragments."

"Before Hillrenes injured me, I had already completed most of the framework. Now, I require the injection of immense Vitality."

"To achieve the Fifth Tier, I need a core. To restore a portion of strength for initiating a ritual, I need special World Fragments, which typically originate from the following sources..."

While Roger and his allies plotted in secrecy, far away across thousands of miles, Heyman departed Sky City with boundless confidence.

He was certain that the leverage he possessed could sway Jora.
