Chapter 904: Chapter 683: Tuge Family
After arriving at the royal palace, that mysterious psychic sensing grew increasingly strong, especially during a certain moment not too long ago.
The conveyed information abruptly intensified, allowing Roger to instantly lock onto Sonia’s location.
Upon entering the throne room, the first thing he saw was a barely clothed young man and a beautiful woman standing beside him.
Roger’s gaze lingered on the woman for a moment—her abilities were decent, but the young man next to her was entirely unimpressive.
Ignoring the conversation between the woman and Chachi, Roger directly threw a punch, shattering the void with the Alder Sword Seal and forcefully breaking into the Different Space hidden from view.
Following his memories, he found Sonia’s hiding place. His hand reached out to grab her, but as he lowered his head and caught sight of the creature in front of him, he couldn’t hide the astonishment on his face.
It wasn’t Sonia at all, but instead a creature with an elegant physique, resembling a noble steed.
On the forehead of the steed was a sharp, pristine unicorn horn. Draped across its body wasn’t thick fur, but scales, each the size of an egg.
"Unicorn?"
Though the game version of Geralt had an unusual relationship with unicorns, Roger hadn’t encountered a living creature resembling one since his rebirth.
But then, a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
"Ro... Roger?!"
"Is it really you?"
"Why have you turned into this shape?"
The soul’s aura confirmed to Roger that the creature before him was indeed Sonia.
"My horse!"
The young man on the floor scrambled up in a panic and lunged forward. At that moment, the space trembled. In the next instant, the void seemed to tear open a fissure.
Immediately, countless items spilled from the ruptured space.
Tables, chairs, ornamental gems, and various fine wines and delicacies.
Amid the chaos, Roger even spotted a luxurious, ornate bed and a blonde-haired woman trapped within the broken crevice.
"Your Majesty, my queen!"
The woman cried out in alarm. The next second, she was buried under a pile of miscellaneous debris.
The wide throne room became a complete mess.
The barely clothed young man leaped to his feet. Fueled by rage, he didn’t even notice his makeshift garment falling off.
"Who are you?"
"This is my palace! Give me back my horse!" he shouted, while glancing wistfully at the woman buried under the debris.
"Guards!"
"Chief Knight! Quickly, fetch me—ugh!" Before the young king could finish his demand, a muffled crash sent him flying backward in dramatic fashion.
"Lord Chachi, please stay calm. Forgive my child, he is still young and hasn’t had the honor of meeting you before. I hope..."
The queen spoke cautiously, all the while studying Chachi’s expression.
Chachi, on the other hand, remained focused on Roger.
Truthfully, Roger paid no mind to the absurdity unfolding before him. Within just a few breaths, he’d roughly pieced together Sonia’s predicament.
Originally, the two of them should have arrived simultaneously in Chachi’s Different Space via the teleportation portal.
But due to an unforeseen mishap, Sonia appeared at the very moment Chachi was under attack—precisely by the Green Dragon that Roger had slain.
This caused Sonia to drift through a spatial fissure and emerge just outside the Royal City.
Then something strange occurred.
The rules of the world descended. Already heavily injured and excessively weakened, Sonia was unable to maintain her original human form.
Under the influence of unknown forces, her body underwent a transformation, her powers were entirely suppressed, and she turned into a creature with Dragonborn lineage!
Utterly terrified, Sonia initially planned to flee. But after crossing a few mountain ridges, she was ambushed.
With her original strength, even damaged, she wouldn’t have fallen into such a pitiful state. Yet in this unfamiliar world under the oppressive force of its laws, she was relegated to the weakest tier of power.
To avoid being outright killed, she pretended to be defeated and allowed herself to be captured and subsequently brought to the royal palace.
Ultimately, she became the young king’s tool to curry favor with a woman.
"She belongs to me now."
With just one statement, Roger took Sonia and left the chaotic throne room.
Shortly afterward, Chachi also emerged, his face darkened with displeasure. He had been focused on improving his strength and hadn’t visited the Royal City for more than a decade.
Six years ago, the king who had once sworn allegiance to him perished in battle. The newly crowned prince had never even met him.
During that time, the Royal City had suffered an attack that damaged the teleportation array, leading to the earlier ridiculous scenario.
When recounting these events, the queen was filled with resentment.
As Protector of the kingdom, Chachi was obligated to safeguard the nation while enjoying its tributes. From a certain perspective, his actions could be considered neglectful.
Due to this negligence, the Green Dragon became aware that Chachi was preoccupied with certain important matters, which led to a series of probing attacks.
To be honest, Chachi bore significant responsibility for today’s debacle.
Roger was entirely indifferent about staying in the Royal City. His sole reason for coming here was the psychic sensing of Sonia’s aura. Now that he’d found her, he had no intention of lingering.
Thus, he returned to the mansion from before.
Almost at the moment they returned to the mansion, countless servants arrived at the gates, all on orders from the queen.
Chachi had no reason to refuse their presence, but as a Protector of the kingdom, being made to look foolish in front of Roger left him simmering with anger, with no outlet to vent.
All he could do was put on a forced smile while dealing with Roger.
