Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 888 - 675: Meeting Again

Chapter 888: Chapter 675: Meeting Again

A dark shadow streaked across the sky, Salam’s injuries gradually recovering. His face was grim as he swept a final glance at the mountain beneath him, then quickly disappeared into the darkness.

"No matter where you go, I’ll find you."

"You are destined to be mine!"

His body flickered for a moment—Salam merged seamlessly with the night.

Not long after, his figure emerged from the darkness, arriving at a mountain radiating an air of deathly silence.

It was a dead volcano, its lush base contrasting sharply with the desolation at its summit. Suspended above the volcanic crater, Salam’s figure suddenly plummeted, his speed escalating rapidly.

Straight down, colliding with the mountain beneath him.

The barrier shattered, as if he had entered a Different Space, where black magma filled the surroundings yet the temperature dropped precipitously.

In a single instant—or perhaps what felt like an eternity—Salam’s body squeezed through a bizarre tunnel, emerging onto a desolate land.

All around was darkness, his vision unable to extend far. In the gloom, unknown forces surged, and it seemed deadly creatures lurked everywhere.

The earth split open, forming a terrifying Abyss. As Salam approached, a colossal eyeball opened in the pitch-black depths.

This eye was enormous—compared to it, Salam was as insignificant as an ant.

A beam of light shot forth from the Abyss, piercing into the surrounding darkness.

Above the Abyss, another equally massive eyeball appeared.

With both eyes fixed on him, Salam’s entire body tensed, standing reverently in place.

"You’ve kept me waiting far too long; you’ve disappointed me!"

The surrounding space trembled like the roar of a giant, the sound shaking Salam to his core.

"Respected master, please grant me more time. I’ve met someone whose powers also stem from the darkness, with traces of a bloodthirsty fervor hidden within."

"I believe, if I could take her..."

"I only want results!"

The cold voice cut off Salam’s words. He inhaled deeply, speaking with restrained humility: "I understand, esteemed master—I’ve remembered everything. But please, grant me just a bit more time..."

Here, Salam paused briefly, "Respected master, I hope to receive your assistance. The enemy I’ve encountered is incredibly strong—your prior bestowed powers..."

"Hmm?"

A frigid gust of wind swept through.

"Are you doubting me?!"

The ground shook, sinister forces coiling around Salam’s ankles, binding him in place.

A black beam shot forth from the Abyssal eye, instantly piercing through Salam.

An expression of pain flickered across Salam’s face, but no visible wounds appeared on his body.

"You desire more?"

"I can grant you that—but can you bear it?"

The grandiose voice was dripping with disdain.

"Please, help me!"

Salam cried out in anguish.

"I need more power to defeat her!"

After a long silence.

"Very well..."

"You’re demanding too much, and you cannot endure it. Yet I can offer you an additional gift."

A slender, nearly imperceptible beam of light shot forth from the single eye, striking Salam’s forehead. When the light faded, a walnut-sized eyeball-shaped mark appeared on his forehead.

"Go now. This mark will allow you to borrow a portion of my power at critical moments. However, due to the rules of limitation, the additional strength will be suppressed."

"After all, your original body is far too frail. Even so, it will suffice—out in that world, for a limited time, nearly no one can be your match."

Roar!

The ground quaked violently, the Abyss beneath closing gradually, like a giant shutting its eye. The beams emanating from the singular eye faded completely.

"Next time, if you fail to fulfill my demands, don’t bother returning."

Salam’s body shot upward like a cannonball, propelled by intense energy squeezing through the surrounding darkness. He breached the barriers and soon vanished from the spot.

Silence returned, yet beneath the Abyss, a massive Giant Dragon was bound to the earth.

The soil around it had hardened into a metallic-like substance, encasing its body and leaving only its fearsome head exposed.

Its exhalation stirred up a whirlwind, its enormous form heaving as shimmering silver ripples illuminated its surface. As its power surged, the silver glow intensified further.

When the light reached its peak in the darkness, the Giant Dragon let out a defiant roar, expending all its strength and finally lowering its head in resignation.

Exhausted from the immense power drained, it closed its single eye.

The only eye.

On the other side of its head was a massive blood-filled cavity.

Meanwhile, Salam, now at a far greater speed than before, broke through the layers of barriers and returned to the real world.

To his perception, only a brief moment had passed, but outside, the sky was already bright.

Salam lowered his gaze to the land beneath him, where green vegetation stretched endlessly to the horizon.

Indeed, the desolate volcano he had seen in the night was now covered with lush trees and dense undergrowth, blending seamlessly into the surrounding mountains and forests.

The entire area was shrouded in an extraordinary power.

Salam steadied himself, realizing how coincidental his discovery of this place had been. Clenching his fist, he delved deeper into his consciousness, heightening his perception.

The strange eyeball-shaped mark seemed to lie hidden beneath his skin and skull.

Though it provided no direct enhancement to his strength, the sharp perception it afforded him gave him an edge in battles against adversaries of his caliber.
