Chapter 828: Chapter 646: Proxy Agent
"That’s the Extreme Path Sword Master!"
Bai Ling’s heart was in turmoil. She was merely an ordinary Superior Leader, always at a disadvantage when facing the Tengu Divine Master. But the peculiarities of the Land of Eternal Darkness placed her in a strange position in her collaboration with the Tengu Divine Master.
Yet none of this could bridge the gap between an ordinary Superior Leader and an Extreme Path Divine Master.
So, upon realizing Roger’s overwhelming power, she didn’t hesitate for a moment and immediately chose to flee.
"Green Hill is doomed, but it doesn’t matter. If he dies, someone else will take his place."
In the next moment, however, Bai Ling suddenly noticed her speed slowing down. The surrounding space seemed to press against her movements like a viscous swamp.
In her panic, she turned her head, and there she saw the young man standing atop Green Hill’s enormous body.
It was hard to imagine that such a frail figure could erupt with such terrifying power.
But why, beyond possessing such formidable defense and offensive strength, did the man seem to have an ability that influenced the surrounding space as well?
During her brief contemplation, Bai Ling’s speed had dropped to an unbelievably low level. Even without additional actions from her opponent, the omnipresent pressure prompted her to change her mind immediately.
She turned around and stopped in her tracks. At the same time, a crack appeared on her forehead, out of which a dazzling white light burst forth.
In the next moment, it was as if she shed a layer of skin. Amid the white light, a blurry shadow leapt out, and the discarded shell slid to the ground.
The seemingly thin shell landed with the force of a massive boulder striking water, but instead of breaking the earth beneath, it seemed to pierce into another dimension.
Dark energy gushed forth like a spring from where the shell struck—a special form of energy unique to the Land of Eternal Darkness.
In that very instant, through a special method, Bai Ling connected the Everworld to the Land of Eternal Darkness. Then, under the pull of an overwhelming force, the vague shadow was dragged underground.
It pierced through barriers and vanished near Qinglu Mountain.
From start to finish, Roger had only activated the Alder Sword Seal while Bai Ling was fleeing, thus affecting the space around her.
But after that, that peculiar force had broken free of Roger’s control.
"How strange."
Roger suspected there were other hidden secrets within the Land of Eternal Darkness. Otherwise, the Tengu Divine Master would never have sought to merge the two realms.
At his feet, Green Hill’s colossal corpse was gradually disintegrating, vanishing bit by bit like dissolving foam before his eyes.
After repeated confirmation, Roger could guarantee that this creature had definitively been killed during their battle. Yet, after its death, the body couldn’t remain on this plane.
This was truly bewildering.
The restless energy within Roger’s body gradually subsided. The sheer power unleashed earlier, which seemed capable of splitting heaven and earth, had left a deep impression on him.
"The Atlas Great Bear truly lives up to its name—able to lift the sky."
Roger felt a tinge of regret. The bloodline inheritance of this species was incredibly potent. If it weren’t for the suppression of global rules, they wouldn’t have been so easily annihilated by the Tengu Divine Master, leading to the extinction of their entire race.
Standing on the mountainside, he turned to gaze toward the summit. Their battle had triggered another round of rockslides, yet the massive statue atop the mountain remained immovable.
The statue seemed to have melded seamlessly with the entire mountain.
In the next moment, Roger’s figure disappeared.
Meanwhile, in a murky and chaotic expanse of darkness, a twisted figure suddenly emerged. The entity fell to the ground like sludge, its writhing form revealing a face.
"How could it be the Extreme Path Sword Master?"
"Hasn’t it been many years since a new Extreme Path Master appeared in the Everworld?"
As it caught its breath, the face became clearer, followed by a slender neck and a bare, distorted body.
This woman had the upper body of an ordinary human female, but below her waist, words failed to describe her grotesque form.
"Green Hill is dead. It won’t be long before a new Superior Leader is born in his territory. What a pity—there’s no similarity at all between the attributes of those two regions. Otherwise, I might have taken the opportunity to strengthen myself."
"This loss is devastating. It seems I won’t be able to leave the Land of Eternal Darkness for a while."
"Hm, but perhaps that’s not entirely a bad thing."
Bai Ling’s face was strikingly beautiful, her figure elegant, but only from the waist up. The area she inhabited was an ominous, corrosive swamp.
In the Land of Eternal Darkness, each Superior Leader’s power was directly tied to the region they presided over. Not only did it dictate the strength of their abilities, but, more importantly, it shaped the nature of their powers.
In a sense, these leaders seemed to exist merely as agents chosen by their respective regions.
As long as the region existed, the death of any number of Superior Leaders was irrelevant. It wouldn’t be long before a new leader emerged from the individual region.
"I need energy to replenish my depleted body."
Within the swamp, Bai Ling’s body flowed like liquid, moving through the viscous mire. Occasionally, bizarre creatures would surface beneath the murky sludge, at which point Bai Ling’s lower body would sprout thick tentacles.
The tentacles coiled around these strange beings, draining them dry. As her strength was replenished, the lower part of Bai Ling’s body began to transform.
She raced madly, consuming every creature within her sight.
"You have no chance. I am the ruler here, always and forever!"
She moved swiftly, leaving behind a trail of absorbed monsters. Before long, the swampy terrain began to narrow, and the surrounding environment began to shift. In the distance, pale green mountains emerged.
