Chapter 819: Chapter 641: The Curtain Falls_2
The Tengu Divine Master was astonished to find that the Extreme Path power he had staunchly believed in was instantly breached. He had misjudged the surge of Bloodline Power and had also overlooked the chain reaction brought about by the clash of two Rule Powers.
By the time he realized this, Sword Master Funiu’s attack had already struck him!
Rumble!
The commotion was earth-shattering.
"We come from the West, but we are not aberrations!"
"We protect our land and the people living here."
"Pay the price for your arrogance!"
Thud!
The concentrated Bloodline Power formed a phantom, piercing through the Tengu Divine Master’s spatial barrier and landing directly on him.
The dark smoke enshrouding his body was instantly shattered, exposing the skinless flesh beneath.
In the next instant, his formidable body was torn apart in Sword Master Funiu’s final counterattack.
The fragmented parts of his body, once detached, began transforming into numerous bizarre figures.
Twisted heads, patchworked bodies.
Each part became its own entity.
Seeing this, Sword Master Funiu let out a wild laugh.
"Compared to us, you are the true aberration!"
But soon, the expression on his face dimmed, and a wry, self-mocking smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
"What a pity..."
"I couldn’t be the one to personally kill you."
As he spoke, Sword Master Funiu’s body began to blur and then gradually disintegrated.
At the same time, the entire Qinglu Mountain also started crumbling.
Crash!
Crack!
The earth quaked, and the mountains shuddered.
This was no ordinary mountain peak; the Atlas clan had cultivated this place for countless years. Their Bloodline Power, in harmony with the earth, held tremendous strength.
To them, Qinglu Mountain was their Destiny.
With the extinction of the Atlas bloodline, the collapse of Qinglu Mountain naturally followed.
"Aah..."
A furious roar echoed through the sky as the fragmented body of the Tengu Divine Master sprouted grotesque fleshy tendrils, which entwined desperately, attempting to form a new body.
But Sword Master Funiu’s Bloodline Power had tainted the Tengu Divine Master’s essence, forcing his body’s reconstruction into a deadlock.
No one could discern how the Tengu Divine Master was forging this new body, but it was evident that it was far from natural, infused with chaotic and obscure energies.
Even though the Tengu Divine Master encapsulated himself with power, he could not undo the effects.
Aside from his head, blurred faces began to appear on his other body parts.
These peeled faces were chaotically stitched together—some lifeless, some ferocious—each showing a range of unsettling expressions.
"You bastards!"
Even knowing Sword Master Funiu was entirely disintegrated, the Tengu Divine Master could not suppress his seething rage. Spreading his arms, he unleashed his power upon the fractured mountain.
Like the first falling Domino, under the Tengu Divine Master’s devastation, the collapse of Qinglu Mountain accelerated dramatically.
"Go back—return to me!"
The Tengu Divine Master roared.
Black smoke shrouded his figure, and after a long while, his body barely returned to its normal state. However, upon closer inspection, one could still notice sporadic, inexplicable distortions beneath the smoke.
The dust settled.
The once-flourishing and picturesque Qinglu Mountain no longer existed.
The peaks had crumbled, and the mountain fissured wide open like a ghastly wound carved onto the earth.
The catastrophe on Qinglu Mountain naturally caught the attention of the surrounding settlements, but before the people could react, strange and bizarre individuals started appearing in every corner of the cities.
The transformation had begun.
Standing amid the ruins, the Tengu Divine Master remained silent. A pitch-black door materialized before him, and he stepped through space to a towering spire.
"My lord, you have destroyed Qinglu Mountain. Without the Sword Pavilion’s protection, this entire region can no longer resist our assimilation."
"And the changes here will irrevocably alter Everworld’s balance!"
A silhouette appeared, speaking respectfully.
"Begin the plan as scheduled," the Tengu Divine Master commanded.
"Additionally..." He looked in a specific direction.
"Has there been any movement on Hankawa?"
"None, my lord."
The Tengu Divine Master withdrew his gaze.
"I have succeeded. Now, Shuntsuki, are you ready to face me?"
"That strike from years ago—it hurt deeply..."
Although an unexpected incident had occurred at Qinglu Mountain, even injuring the Tengu Divine Master and worsening the instability of his incomplete body,
to him, these were mere trifles.
Only Hankawa, only Sword Master Cold Crow, commanded his attention.
As Qinglu Mountain crumbled and collapsed, the chain reactions it unleashed began to reveal themselves.
The Power of Eternal Darkness invaded the area but was impeded inches from fully consuming the space by a dense barrier of Bloodline Power emanating from the ruins of Qinglu Mountain.
Even from a great distance away, low growls seemed to echo from the fractured mountain’s vicinity.
It might have been the cries of despair from the Atlas bloodline.
While this upheaval played out, Roger remained completely unaware. Standing atop Kaer Morhen, he watched as the last rays of the sunset slipped behind the Mist Forest, plunging the world into darkness.
Within his mind, the glowing bands encircling the Alder Sword Seal had almost entirely dissipated. In these final moments, the last two bands fused, broke apart, fused again, and broke apart once more.
The cycle repeated endlessly.
Roger’s emotions vacillated alongside it.
At that moment, a surge of power rippled from the vicinity of the Tower of Shadows. Initially, Roger paid it no mind, but the ripples grew increasingly volatile, even disturbing ordinary Demon Hunters passing by.
Before he could take action, Higurashi Chika leapt out from the shadows like a Spirit Cat, landing before him.
"Roger, something’s wrong with Yuan Guanghai."
Inside the Tower of Shadows, Roger immediately noticed the agitated state of Yuan Guanghai.
Though he had lost his physical form and later integrated Bloodline Power, Yuan Guanghai’s body still harbored hidden defects.
Now, he resembled a volcano on the verge of eruption, his energy distorting the surrounding environment. For any ordinary person nearby, prolonged exposure to his energy would either awaken dormant bloodlines or transform them into Monsters under the influence of the Power of Eternal Darkness.
"Calm yourself," Roger intoned, channeling his spiritual power to pacify Yuan Guanghai as he examined the changes within him.
"I don’t know," Yuan Guanghai said anxiously. "I can’t find the words. Just now, the previously tranquil Bloodline Power suddenly turned restless. Within it, I felt an emotion."
"Sadness."
"It was as if..."
"As if I were the only one left in this world."
Yuan Guanghai lifted his head, his eyes awash with palpable sorrow.
Roger’s heart skipped a beat as a thought surfaced in his mind.
"Qinglu Mountain."
Before his last departure, Roger had provided Sword Master Funiu with a unique method of communication, utilizing Shadow’s Power with Uma’s assistance.
Thus far, Shadow’s Power remained the only force Roger knew of, beyond the Hunter’s Cabin, capable of connecting to other worlds.
The external oppression partly stemmed from the stigma surrounding Funiu Sword Pavilion’s Western Bloodline Holder lineage and partly from the malice of the Tengu Shrine.
And the latter was partially connected to Roger himself.
Hence, for personal and moral reasons, Roger could not ignore the plight of the Funiu Sword Pavilion.
On a more selfish note, he had finally encountered a strong ally in Sword Master Funiu and was unwilling to lose him easily.
"I..."
"...want to go back and see it!" Yuan Guanghai managed to say after summoning all his courage. Then, he bowed his head deeply.
Once, he had promised Roger that the original Yuan Guanghai was dead, and the one who remained alive was a Bear Fraction Demon Hunter.
"Smack!"
Roger’s hand landed firmly on Yuan Guanghai’s shoulder.
"Don’t overthink it—I’ll take you back."
Opening the bulletin board, Roger glanced briefly at the Shadow Cottage data.
The augmentations from Sword Master Funiu were still active.
Roger felt a bit more at ease.
Should an external threat arise, Sword Master Funiu would likely notify him.
"Let’s go." With Yuan Guanghai, Roger utilized the ability of Penetration to enter Everworld.
This time, the moment they stepped out of the Hunter’s Cabin, Roger immediately sensed the change in the surrounding environment.
