Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 314 - Chapter 314 Chapter 314 Amanda Visits

Chapter 314: Chapter 314 Amanda Visits Chapter 314: Chapter 314 Amanda Visits “What on earth was that?”

It wasn’t until long after Roger had left that the crowd came back to their senses from their astonishment.

“Was it some kind of illusion?”

“No, impossible, it was too real. Even though we were so far away, that strong and terrifying pressure felt as if it was happening right beside us.”

The Faceless spoke while swiftly glancing at the ordinary man sitting in the corner.

“You’ve gotten yourself into big trouble, but fortunately, the other party doesn’t seem to care too much about it.”

“Trouble?”

“Let’s talk about it when he finds me.”

The middle-aged man curled his lips, but obviously, his expression was very uncomfortable. All the signs indicated that the mysterious person who had suddenly appeared was not as weak as he claimed; on the contrary, the other party was very strong.

Being able to live next door to such a formidable creature was explanation enough.

“Mist… monster?”

At that moment, the Paladin, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up, “There shouldn’t be a place like that in the real world, right?”

He lifted his head, his rough face unusually showing a hint of seriousness and caution.

“So, where exactly is this Mr. Mist communicating with us from?”

Upon hearing his words, everyone was first taken aback, but they quickly understood something.

“You mean…”

Black Soul spoke, his voice filled with hesitation and shock.

“He crossed the barrier of a world, from another place?!”

“No! That’s impossible, no one can do that. It’s too terrifying, unless…”

Black Soul suddenly looked up, and in his surprise, he even forgot to disguise his voice. His original voice was not as hoarse and deep as it seemed, but rather quite young.

“Unless he found a shard of a world.”

The Paladin spoke.

Hearing this statement, everyone fell silent.

“It looks like a big player has joined our little group.”

The Faceless’s voice revealed a bit of elation.

Among all the people there, only the middle-aged man sitting in the corner had a gloomy face. The next moment, his figure blurred, and he vanished on the spot.

“Heh.”

Black Soul snorted coldly, obviously not very fond of the middle-aged man who was sitting in the corner. He straightened up and looked around.

“So, is that it for today?”

“Looking forward to our next meeting.”

Everyone nodded and simultaneously ended the ritual.

Inside the Mist Hut, Roger cleaned up the traces on the table. He peered out of the window, his gaze penetrating the mist.

But even then, with his current visual range, Roger couldn’t completely see through the mist. The distant rumbling sound reached him, and he only saw a gigantic footstep receding into the distance.

“What on earth was that?”

Roger wasn’t too worried about the subsequent matters within the Foreign Spirit Assembly; with the groundwork laid before, he had built enough momentum for himself. All he needed to do was to be a little careful, and there probably wouldn’t be anyone actively causing him trouble.

All he needed to do was quietly wait, wait for news from Abraham.

If his strength was sufficient, Roger might try to lure Abraham out using the Pale Blood he had in his possession.

For Abraham, the preciousness of that substance was unparalleled; in a normal trade, he might be willing to pay several times or even tens of times the price.

Of course, this plan required more strategic planning, and also required Roger to further enhance his own strength.

“It would be best if I could pinpoint that guy’s whereabouts,” Roger thought silently.

Returning to the real world, the night was deep, and all was silent outside the window. Without resting, Roger chose to meditate.

The next morning, Roger found Goway and hoped to take on some tasks. Goway didn’t think too much about it and gave Roger some options.

The Bloodthirsty Bride: Residents of Cold Mountain Town were celebrating a wedding when the bride suddenly went mad. She brutally killed her husband and nearly ten of the guests who had come to visit.

When the police arrived at the scene, what they saw was a bloodied woman sitting in a room with scissors and thread in hand, this poor woman with not a single piece of intact skin on her entire body.

Somehow, she had managed to peel off her entire skin in one piece. She told the police that she wanted to sew the most beautiful wedding dress using her own skin.

As she spoke, she touched her slightly protruding belly.

“This wedding dress was prepared for my daughter.”

The police took away the bride, but while sorting through the items, they were surprised to discover that the wedding dress that had been worn by the bride had vanished without a trace.

This incident initially didn’t catch much attention, but half a month later, the same thing happened in other small towns nearby.

They caught the bride, but the wedding dress disappeared once again.

Roger glanced at the address of the mission; it was a bit far from Blair County, but for a cursed item, he found the distance acceptable.

He pondered in his mind and continued reading downward. The subsequent missions all hinted at a cursed item, of course, not ruling out the possibility of monster mischief.

It was up to Roger to judge the specifics and then go to the locality to investigate.

Roger was reading when he suddenly received a call from Henrik.

“I hope I haven’t disturbed your beautiful life,” Henrik’s voice was low.

“Amanda just asked me for your detailed address, and if I’m not mistaken, she’s likely near Blair County, perhaps on her way to where you’re staying now.”

“Amanda?”

Roger didn’t think much of it, his voice revealing a trace of delight, “Has she passed the Awakening Ceremony?”

“Why does she have time to find me?”

“It seems that after the awakening, she hasn’t turned into what you guys were worried about.”

“Oh…”

Henrik hesitated, “Listen buddy, I now rather wish she had become less approachable.”

“To tell you the truth, the girl’s change is quite significant; it could even be described as earth-shattering. You’d better be prepared.”

“Oh, that’s right!”

Henrik suddenly remembered something.

“You don’t have other women around you now, do you?”

“Other women?”

Roger was startled, somewhat confused by the implication in Henrik’s words.

“You better behave yourself.”

“Before she left, Amanda did say…”

At that moment, Roger suddenly heard a commotion at the entrance of the manor; it sounded like Goway.

Roger picked up the phone and pushed the door open.

The next second, his attention was completely captured by the fiery red figure standing at the door, to the extent that he didn’t hear Henrik’s warning on the phone.

“Amanda…”

Fiery red lips, tight jeans, and a cropped leather jacket, with her hair tossed casually behind her head–Amanda had shed the greenness Roger remembered, appearing mature and yet full of allure.

Amanda clearly saw Roger as well; time seemed to freeze, and nothing else around them mattered anymore. In each other’s eyes, there was only the other person.

Roger slowly walked toward Amanda, carefully observing the girl in front of him. There was a fatal attraction about this girl.

He thought back to all the moments since they had met, with the final image of Amanda staying overnight in Bordeaux.

Roger smiled faintly.

“It looks like you should be quite free tonight.”

“Shameless, jerk!”

A childish voice suddenly came from beside him.

Roger turned his head to find Goway staring at him indignantly.

Amanda stepped forward and lightly pressed her red lips on Roger’s cheek.

She turned to glance at Goway.

“Who’s this kid?”

Her gaze lingered on Goway’s flat chest.

“Did you buy her to play with?”
